Directions to Akron - Canton
North: Travelers heading from areas north of the airport (Akron, Cleveland) should take the I-77 towards Canton. Take exit 113 (the airport exit) and go across Lauby Road and follow signs to the terminal building and appropriate parking areas.
South: Those coming from the south (Pittsburgh) will take the I-279 heading north. Take the Cranberry exit leading to the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Follow the I-76 over the Ohio border and then pay the toll to get onto the I-76 West. Follow the I-76 for about half an hour and take the I-77 South. Follow the I-77 to exit 113, cross Lauby Road and follow airport signs.
East: Take the I-271 south to exit 18 (OH-8). Take the OH-8 for about twenty minutes and then follow it onto the I-77 heading south. Take the I-77 to exit 113. Cross Lauby Road and follow signs to the terminal or parking area. Alternately, the I-76 heading west also leads to the I-77.
West: Those coming from areas to the west like Toledo will take the I-80 to exit 11. Follow the I-77 south and travel for about thirty miles to exit 113. Cross Lauby Road and follow airport signs.
Main Terminal
Akron-Canton Airport consists of one main terminal that has a north, west, and east concourse past security. Passengers enter the terminal through one of six entrances. Ticketing and check-in are to the right and baggage claims are on the left. Also to the left are the ground transportation counters and car rental area. For those needing help, the information center is in the middle of this area. A hallway is found in the back leading to the gift shop, food court, and security area. Only ticketed passengers can go any further.
Beyond the security area are the main gates. To the right is the east concourse where gate 1 and 2 are located. Straight ahead is the north concourse with gates 3 through 7. To the left is the west concourse with gates 8 through 11. The west concourse is the newest area in the terminal having been completed in 2006. A large central atrium provides a relaxing setting amidst the concourses.
Airlines served by the Akron-Canton Airport include AirTran (Gate 8, 9 and 10), Delta Airlines (Gate 6), Frontier (Gate 11), Northwest Airlines Airlink (Gate 7), United Express (Gate 1), and US Airways Express (Gate 4).
