Very clean and nice. Beds need to be pillow top they were not the most comfortable. Everything else great. Love the coffee maker in the room.
Althought the hotel was nice I was very upset when when arrived and were told there was no parking for the hotel guest. We were charged $25 a night for valet parking or we could park on the street. There were only meters on the streets with limited amount of time. This is a very expensive hotel and to be charged an additional $25 a day for parking was just to much. I would never stay here again or suggest anyone else too. This parking situation should have been clear prior to booking. The prices were also obsene. Three dinks and a appetizer cost over $50. This is just not a place for middle class folks like me. For the price of the hotel they could have provided a free breakfast too.
Beautifully architectured hotel! Luxurious curtains, furinture, and linens. Front desk staff was friendly, asked if we had a special reason for our stay...we told him we were there for a late anniversary celebration. We went out to dinner and returned to find chilled champaign and chocolate covered strawberries in the room with an anniversary card from the hotel! --Complimentary I might add! Great view of downtown! Within walking distance to everything in Bricktown. And order room service! It is divine!!!
From the second I arrived, I loved this place. It was like being in a movie. Everyone was so nice, the architecture was wonderful, and the history of this hotel is worth hearing about. But, when I would wake up during the night, which happened several times because of the bed, I felt like I was sleeping in the floor on several blankets trying to make it soft. It was horribly uncomfortable. However, I know beds are a matter of preference, and I believed the host when she told me they usually receive ecstatic compliments bout the beds.
I have stayed at Hiltons from Rome to San Francisco and this is my favorite Hilton. The staff is incredibly friendly; from the front desk to the servers at the Grill. And speaking of the grill, the food is amazing! The best Sunday brunch I've ever had. Twenty five dollars for all you can eat brunch items including Kobe beef and unlimited mimosas! I just love the historic feel of the hotel and the free limo service on the weekends!
This review is specifically for the Park Avenue Grill, an upscale restaurant located in the lobby area of the Skirvin Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City. The Skirvin had been THE hotel in Oklahoma City in its day, but had fallen on hard times and was facing the prospect of being a target for the wrecking ball. Investors rallied and today the Skirvin is a jewel of Art Deco architecture in the heart of the city, near the Cox Center, the Ford Center and the Bricktown district. When first entering the lobby of the Skirvin, a visitor is struck by the richness of the decor. Wooden hand-carved figures look down from perches. Dark wood and red drapes dominate the lobby. Just to the right, as you enter the lobby, is the Park Avenue Grill. More dark wood paneling guides guests to the dining area. There one sees light-colored walls and art-deco splashes of tile on the walls. Everything seems harmonious. Our server was courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. The three of us ordered four appetizers an...
I stayed at this hotel well over a year ago, and yet remember it well and fondly. The decor is very appealing with art deco accents. The lobby bar is very cozy. The dining room offers very nice selections for breakfast including some healthy options. The room was of average size, yet very well appointed. The bathroom had a large vanity and the lighting was good. The staff was very friendly. The hotel is within walking distance of the convention center and several restaurants.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Skirvin. Check in was quick and easy. We received vouchers for breakfast. I believe it was a special they had that weekend. The first room we were given had a musty smell. Called the front desk and a bellhop arrived quickly and moved us to a different room. The room was beautifully decorated, bath was up to date but still maintained it's character. This is old, historical hotel and they have maintained as much of the original building as possible. Not really a place to take kids. Would stay there again.
My wife and I met her high school classmate that she hadn't seen for 30 yrs. It was great reunion location. The hotel lobby was beautiful with the high ceiling and the refurbished original woodwork. Our room was so large and comfortable. Everything had been renovated. Luxury bed linings. Huge bathroom, my wife loved soaking in the deep tub. The complimentary bath robes to lounge in were so soft and comfy. The hotel was filled to capacity and lots of activity in the hallways, BUT our room was practically sound proof and a GREAT romantic escape. We are planning another trip to see our newfound friends, BUT also enjoy a wonderful romantic Valentine's weekend. We would highly recommend this property.
This was not only a beautiful hotel but the staff lived up to the service expected. Valet was quick, desk was professional and helpful, and the restaurant staff was exceptional. I will stay at this hotel again. Thank you for reminding me that some hotels do care if the customer is happy! I loved the comfortable beds, just perfect! This hotel is 4 blocks from Tapworks if you wanted to add some adventure.
My wife and I stayed there for our anniversary. We had a king size bed with a wide screen tv. the bed and sheets were super comfortable. The bathroom was large and very nice. Real tile where alot of hotels have plastic insert showers. This is the Hotel where Paul McCartney stayed last year when he drove on route 66. It's a classic. Absolutely no complaints.
I stayed at this hotel on December 19, 2008. I traveled on business to many places in the country. Never have I encountered so much rudeness. I was trying to find the business center which is located in the basement. The stairs down to the center didn't seem right to me. So I asked the security guard that just happened to be there if that was the entrance to the bus ctr. He said yes and then asked me if I was a guest at the hotel. I said yes, he told me that was the way to the bus ctr and then asked me to accompany him to the desk. I thought he was trying to help me and come to find out he wanted to check if I was a guest at the hotel or not. At the reception desk, he asked the receptionist If he knew whether I was a guest or not.
