Positiv: The guy at Avis was nice.Negativ: First of all, I absolutely hate the idea that they "need" to do a "soft" credit check to rent a car if you're using a debit card. The policy was not clear, and if I had to consent to a credit check when I booked the rental, I wouldn't have booked it at all. In this day and age, a debit card should be enough. In fact, I haven't rented a car with Enterprise because they did that to me once - so now I'm adding Avis to the list. On top of that, the Avis representative was so painfully slow; he couldn't deal with two customers in less than 30 minutes. It took him 30 minutes to tell me I had to get a "soft" credit check to rent the car. I canceled the rental right there, which took another 15 minutes.

The clerk said I had to get their for 3:30 or else to come in the next morning. Loved to hear that after a 9 hour drive. Also when I asked if any other places were open he said that Logan would be but it would be 300 dollars to drop off st a different location. Really!!!
Avoid renting a car at that location at all costNegativ: The employees could were rude and lacked professionalism. It was like dealing with an inner city gang member. The station did not honor the same card that was used for previous Avis rentals. The only employee was completely diengages. Returning the car, they were unable to provide documentation as the airport was undergoing construction and they did not have an operational handheld device.
Positiv: That I could drop off the car to another location than where it was picked up and the rate was pretty goodNegativ: They did not clean the car at all. Gross stains everywhere and broken cheese-its through the floors.
Did NOT honor the reservationPositiv: The car was reasonably clean.Negativ: The rental facility did NOT honor the reservation saying that since it was made the night before, they didn't have a car available. Then they asked for more money to give me another car!!!! After I refused, the rude attendant there (Jerald) asked me to wait 15 minutes so that he could get a van instead. Then he left and did not come back for 50 minutes! When I complained about the long delay, he said that I agreed to the van, so it is my fault.
Long story short, I have rented numerous cars before, but I have NEVER had such a horrible experience.
AVOID this location if you can.
Positiv: I appreciate that the price quoted by Kayak didn't change- that is, there were no surprises. It was by far the best deal I could find, most similar rentals were 2x the price I paid.

PLEASE HAVE LOCATIONS ANSWER THEIR PHONES!!Positiv: I appreciated being able to easily change my drop off locationNegativ: Staff at the 350 Mass Ave location in Cambridge, MA does not pickup the phone. Customers need to be able to reach that location sometimes. Please fix this. The lady that handled my checkout was rude and very unhelpful.
