The breakfast that was included was phenomenal.
The staff were extremely gracious and tried to meet all needs. Not just the front desk staff but everyone we encountered in the hotel. They were a pleasure. The "systems" at the property did not work smoothly. Check in BASED ON RESERVATIONS THROUGH KAYAK did not work. The reservation THROUGH KAYAK was not accepted by the property's computer, despite print outs of the reservation information. It took more than 40 minutes to straighten out. Eventually, we told the staff to just check us in instead of having us stand around in the lobby and when it is straightened out, tell us. Another system that did not work well was room cleanliness -- this should be a 'checklist' task: before a room is logged as cleaned and ready for a new guest, someone should check to see that the towels are clean and all appropriate supplies are present. Something as obvious as a missing box of tissues -- an empty holder is not hard to spot. Then, when a guest asks that it be replaced, there should be a flag on the request with a system to ensure that the task is completed. It was not. The same with the facilities. The exercise room was missing items marked as present, such as clean ear-phones. The exercise bike was broken but not marked as such, suggesting no one on staff knew about it. These are all minor points but this is a facility that should not have these issues. They are minor but also very easy to address.

Located by highway Drive in got lost, signs weren't visible at night. We arrived and parking was limited and far from hotel, long walk in with tired toddler. They didn't have the room I booked with two beds, slept as a family in king.. Light was out in room, and the a.c/heating unit was loud and turned on and off all night. There must have been a kids hockey game because there were hockey kids running all day and night.. Very loud and hard to sleep because they kept waking my toddler. Shampoo smelt like hippies and the light bulb blew and got glass on the floor. The second day they came to change the first broken light bulb and had to changed the whole fixture... While my family sat and watched the over half hour process... The pool and hot tub was filled with rambunctious kids... While their mothers sat and drank beer... The sign clearly stated no kids in hot tub under sixteen... They were young... Like single digits... Rest past eight am was not happening. The walls are paper thin... The staff was nice.. But the stay was not... Disappointing for a crown plaza... Very disappointing
It was extremely loud with parties going on in several rooms on the floor. The security guy did his best. Staff was friendly
Very relaxed The last time I stayed at the double tree it was very nice I stayed on the 5th floor, the rooms were clean the whole floor was very nice. This time was horrible I stayed on the 3rd floor the wallpaper was peeling the bathroom look dirty. The feel of the whole room vs the room I had before was just so different. I say this to say I'm not sure if the higher up on floors you stay but my first experience was very nice my second time wasn't so nice.
The staff was the nicest hotel staff I have ever encountered. I had no issues with any part of the experience and the king bed was like being on a cloud. I'm not a breakfast person, however, my girlfriend is. Since their breakfast is $11.50+/person we ended up going to Denny's across the street. Everything else was perfect!
Very clean and organized. Loved that it had a nice restaurant and room service was available. To many kids the weekend I stayed there. They were noisy and running around all over the place.
The staff was great, the breakfast at Shulas was excellent! Beds were comfortable. When we got to the room I noticed there was garbage in the closet and underneath the vanity in the bathroom.there was also extremely cold air coming in from the heating vent maintenance came fix that up for us and they gave us complementary breakfast and a free movie due to the room being dirty however the water took about 10 minutes to heat up at the sink in the bathroom the shower went from hot to cold and when it got hot it was burning
It was close to the Cleveland Clinic, staff was efficient and courteous. The walls are thin, hot water wasn't plentiful or hot enough.
We enjoyed the location. Also the lobby was decorated beautiful for Christmas. To get our room cleaned we had to ask specifically for it...2 separate times. There were wet towels molding in the floor before we got someone to come clean.
Overall the hotel was very nice. The beds and pillows were super comfortable and the location was really convenient to most of the downtown attractions. There were some really huge drawbacks though. Most of the hotel smelled like bleach. While I appreciate the cleanliness, the smell was overwhelming. The biggest issue I had was the wifi. I like to use my iPad before bed but the wifi was so poor and so slow I didn't have the chance. Also, you have to pay for using over 510 KB, which is kind of ridiculous. The breakfast bar is a total rip off, the food is stale and dry and flavorless. Skip this and grab something to eat at the grocery store down the block. Finally, the staff seems really uninterested in making you feel welcome. The waitresses at the breakfast bar were more concerned with their phones, and the front desk was rather cold.
Everybody that worked there was very nice. The front desk helped me immediately. Very nice place to stay. If I ever come back to Cleveland, this will be my first choice to stay Nothing. everything was great!
Location Bedding had stains on it, full-length mirror looked like someone had poured coffee down the bottom of it, stains on everything- carpet, ironing board, comforter. No in-room fridge, room service closed early (only have it until 11pm, but no one answered the phone even before that at 10:50 pm). Staff was courteous, location was great; but completely unimpressed with the cleanliness of our room (or lack thereof).
Darryl at reception & the rest of the reception & housekeeping staffs were very helpful & friendly. The location is perfect for walking around the city to all the local attractions. The room was clean & comfortable but basic. I had a nice view of the square & the lake. I just wish the room had a fridge and/or a minibar. The coffeemaker also didn't work very well & leaked half the water out. Not a big deal as there were coffee shops nearby.
Location to playhouse square. Breakfast good. Dinner good but extremely expensive. Staff friendly. Beds comfortable. Pool was cold. Room was hot. Hot tub out of order. Two elevators out of order. Very frustrating.
We had no hand towels, wash cloths, or shower floor mat. One of the bath room bulbs was out. The floor had crumbs from the list visitor and the room had to tv cabinet stand but only 1 tv. The room was also missing a mini fridge and microwave.
We had to wait online forever to get into our room. They only had one lady checking in reservations and customers were definitely getting erritated.
The cost of valet. Also mark from valet insisted I had to pay him separately before he would run to get my car.
Comfortable bed and room. Decently clean. Breakfast "buffet" was never replenished when food ran out. Never any plates or silverwear. For $15 a person I should be able to get as much food as I want. I was seated by the employee hangout hole in the dining room where I had the pleasure of listening to them complain about customers. Staff needs fired. Also checking out was a joke. They claimed they had no record of us being in that room rather someone else by a different name. Hire some employees with brains and manners.
Room had a nice view Staff were pretty rude ... parking not included in rate .. it was 24 bucks to park ... room wasn't very clean
This location was chosen for it'so proximity to FirstEnergy Stadium, but it also has a multitude of shops and restaurants very close by. Lack of a greeting by hotel staff.
WiFi worked. Able to print boarding pass at computer and printer in lobby. When booking the room, I was offered the choice to request a "quiet room," but was given the complete opposite. Was able to get 3 hours of sleep at most. Cannot even begin to tell you where all of the noise was coming from except definitely from the "vending" area across the hall, but it was constant. By 3am there was so much noise I gave up on sleeping despite having to leave by 7:30am for a meeting with a client. If you want to get more than 2-3 hours of sleep, do NOT accept room #104 (or any of the rooms on that side of the first / ground floor). And I never even received an invoice under my door in the morning, plus, on check in, my address was completely wrong - listed as a State 1,000 miles away from my work address that I provided when booking.
Great breakfast, comfortable common area, outstanding evening snacks with white wine. Would not give loyalty points because I booked through Kayak. I was still loyal, as I could have gone somewhere else. Their management team did so many things well, but missed on this.
LOVED the room, mattress, linens, pillows...very comfortable. The furnishings were cute, comfortable and very updated. Location was excellent as well as the price. Room was also very clean. The television was difficult to use. Remote was stubborn and most of the channels said "no signal". In house food selection was limited, EXPENSIVE and poor tastse/quality.
