In late 2018, Holland America Line will unveil the latest addition to its fleet. The Nieuw Statendam, a Pinnacle Class-ship, will hold up to 2,650 passengers, and is expected to have a similar design to the existing Koningsdam which is currently the largest ship in the company's fleet.
The Nieuw Statendam will make its maiden voyage in time for the 2018/19 cruise season and will join many other Holland America Line ships in crossing the Caribbean, providing passengers with luxurious surroundings as they visit a variety of tropical destinations. Nieuw Statendam will call at the company's private island, Half Moon Cay, where passengers can go horseback riding, bird watching or take the kids to a brand new Water Park.
All classes of the new, modern staterooms aboard the Nieuw Statendam will feature bedside USB ports, bathrobes, flat screen TVs and DVD players, plus complimentary fresh fruit on request. Family staterooms will be available, holding up to five passengers, and single-occupancy staterooms will offer solo travelers some privacy. The finest Pinnacle Suites include a whirlpool bath, shower and extra shower stall, private verandah, pantry, guest toilet and floor-to-ceiling windows, as well as access to the exclusive Neptune Lounge.
Nieuw Statendam will have a two-tiered pool, complete with its own movie screen, a blues club, cooking demonstrations by America's Test Kitchen, and the Culinary Arts Center for glamorous dining opportunities. It will also house popular attractions, like the Greenhouse Spa, basketball and volleyball courts. In addition to all of these, Nieuw Statendam is bound to have some new surprises for seasoned Holland America Line travelers to enjoy.
