The rooms were good sized. The breakfast time went late, which was convenient. For a newer hotel, they don't seem to be keeping up on the maintenance very well.
The front desk was extremely nice and helpful. I fell in love with my room. The view was unbelievable for the price! I only paid $345 for three nights with a marina view. I am very satisfied. Loud guests, constant loud door slams, thin walls
The friendliness of the staff was above par. The room had a refrigerator and microwave, the front desk had a small store area, which I used quite frequently. The fire pit outside on the patio was a nice touch. The kitchen staff was so friendly and the food quality and variety was awesome. The location was nice, as it was close to the beach, and not too far away behind the hotel was a marina so you could see the boats coming and going. The room carpet was extremely dirty. My wife and I never went barefoot anywhere except in the room, and when we took a shower, we practically stained the tub with the amount of blackness that was coming off our feet.
The size of the suite. The breakfast had a nice assortment of foods to choose from We had been there before, several times. The lobby is boring and doesn't have that elegant feel. The coast grill is the same as the lobby. We were in bldg. 2, no signs telling you were the elevator is, and our room, 310, is on the other side of the bldg. with no elevator near by. We will NOT go back to this property. It looks like the hotel is going under.
The room was very nice. Spacious with nice amenities. The free cocktail hour was okay and the complimentary buffet breakfast was awesome. I asked why the pool was closed and the employee said, "Some kid barfed in the pool earlier today". Perhaps some training on how to communicate with the public is in order. Although I did appreciate the girl's honesty.
Beach is beautiful, private. Open bar for 2 hours! Decent food free breakfast helpful, friendly staff Bike rentals!
Almost everything was great We had plumbing issues in our room and we were not able to put have movies
The girl who helped us check in was nice. The bed was super comfy, very nice location as well I did not like how there were about 3 employees at the front desk, not doing anything. A supervisor even came out and she was talking to one of the employees instead of helping us check into our room. There was a very big moth in the room (crazy right?) and that seems dirty to me. When we were leaving, not once did the girl at the front desk ask how our stay was when I asked her if we needed to check out before we left.. But whatever I guess.. People just don't have great customer service
Pretty much all aspects - great value Food took forever to be prepared but they were swamped.
the food was good I went for an escape from my busy life - I wanted to sleep and relax. The AC unit was so loud and clunky it woke me up every time it turned on. The walls were thin so I was woken up early by people passing in the hall as well as the people in the room next door. I tried to go back to bed after the breakfast, but the housekeeping was vacuuming in nearby rooms so again, too noisy to sleep. It was disappointing and the bed wasn't even very comfortable
Rooms were on the small side, but still cozy. A comfortable bed and hot shower with neutragena bath products was nice The workers at the front desk could you a tremendous amount of improvement.
Clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room and beds. Pillows were too puffy:)
Very nice, clean and quiet. Though our room faced the freeway on a busy Friday afternoon, we didn't hear any of that noise. Will stay here again when traveling through Ventura County.
Clean, nice big TV, good wifi. Walls are thin. I can hear people walking in the room above, and noises from the neighbor room.
We stayed just for one night but the room was clean and very welcoming. The bed was very comfy. And for that price it was agood stray. Tobe honest, nothing!
Very clean and up to date room. Great value for the price. Location is convenient to Heritage Square and a quick drive to the beach and Channel Islands area. Would definitely stay again if I'm in this area.
Location was central to sights. Walls are thin so I could hear television etc from room next door.
Very friendly staff Room smelled a little stale, but was very comfortable. Have stayed at comparable hotels in similar areas for a lot less than $178 a night.
Close to the hsrbor with view of some boats. Room felt freshly remodeled. Shower was great. Tv had a menu where you could jump channels but no program descriptions. Jacuzzi was worth it. Surprised with a $10 overnight parking charge.
Awful smell outside and tap water - sewer smell. Older hotel, was disappointing. Staff = great!
Convenient, nice harbor, happy restaurant open for Xmas. Long hall way on 2nd floor running kids; Luke warm jacuzi
Clean room & friendly staff no view
I like the $1 drinks and the man behind the bar was very nice and I also liked how it was close to places that we normally go to. It was comfortable place to sleep for the night, This place is a little old fashioned and the rooms are outdated but comfy and this is not for people who are looking for luxury.
Like the price, location, amenities The new owners have changed a few things, less comforts., not as friendly.,breakfast not as good., no movies., the carpets in the rooms were extremely dirty. Bugs flyers big around in the bathroom. I will look around before staying here again
Love the location, but cleanliness was an issue. Hair in the coffee cups, gross continental breakfast, and hair in the bathroom.
Older facility, two story, well maintained. Clean rooms and everything works. Nice breakfast 6-10 weekends, 6-9 week days. Have stayed here twice, both times we were very pleased with our stay. Last time our room was on the ground floor and there was breeze way in the middle of our section with ice, drink machines, and steps mounted on our wall which were a little noisy, but it was not loud.
Great location right in heart of downtown old town Clubs Restaurants night life walking distance Cool park adjacent to hotel local transients hanging out but harmless Close to beach and fwy Place has been great in the past lots of nice plants around patio and autrium Breakfast used to be good real eggs bacon sausage Now cheap as could be Super continental generic pastries if management could make cheaper I'm sure they would Went in morning to get coffee dispenser was out informed the clerk They copped a little attitude with me pulling them away from playing on fb I'm gruppy in the morning before my coffee just pissed me off I returned to my room to use the coffe machine there Place is a great price for what it is But don't expect anything to be completly right I'm not one to rate things very often take much to please But if u include breakfast and know it's sucks least have some fuking hot coffee for your guest in the morning I love Ventura This place has eroded management orsomething has dramatically changed for the bad here I hope the owner pulls his or her head out of there ass fixes it Place has lots of character history and charm to the city of Ventura to just throw this very neat partially converted old firehouse down the drain I hope I see better reviews in the future Save the clock tower lol Staff extremely poorly trained Bad moral Obvious owner manager has changed from the past I speak from the heart if you don't like my grammar or punctuation Too bad Is what it is Love America buy American
I've stayed here several times. It's close (waking distance) to downtown, restaurants, bars and the beach. Room was clean, great balcony. Breakfast is marginal but they do have coffee and juice and sometimes eggs if you want to risk ptomaine poisoning, LOL. Staff is always overwhelmed although they try to help. Ice machine never working but you can get all you want at the restaurant next door. Don't go roaming around outside late at night, really sketchy area although the hotel grounds are locked up tight. Parking is really tight on holiday weekends but they always find something for you.
Nothing Everything was bad here, black mold in the bathroom free breakfast consisted of runny powder eggs stale bread and the creamer was out dated. The gal at the front desk was continually apologizing I felt bad for her. This hotel is next to a park and the parking is shared with a public parking lot that was full of homeless people. At night we could hear people fighting in the park which was right out side our room there was a 6 foot fence that separated the window in our room and the homeless people continued to look over it into our window we complained to the front desk but was told nothing could be done because they didn't own the park and it was a public area. Good thing we were only staying one night
The front desk girl Nicole made you feel at home and was very kind and welcoming.
Great location to uptown Ventura and the beach. Restaurants are within walking distance. Very noisy so don't plan to get a good night sleep
Great and helpful staff. Within walking distance to downtown and beach front, literally a block away. Wonderful location. Definately coming back. Some homeless around the area but they're really peaceful and keep to themselves. Nothing to worry about :)
Was close to main street, freeway access. 1. Small round toilet seat installed on large elongated oval toilet was strange. 2. Water damage in bathroom between tub & wall with black mold was gross. 3. The only chair in room was a hard wood dining room type chair. 4. With reservations, it took 10 minutes for desk clerk to get checked in. 5. Skipped the breakfast offered, its the worst of any motel I have ever stayed at. 6. Homeless around the hotel parking lot.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The shower in my room was broken, and the staff changed my room easily. The location was perfect! All of the downtown nightlife is walkable from the Clocktower, including a top notch whiskey bar across the courtyard. Value of accommodation for the price is exceptional. Free breakfast buffet was a joke. Paid extra for a "nicer" room with a balcony, was originally booked into a room on the first floor. Patio is different from balcony. My first room had plumbing issues with the shower. The type of issue that the last guest probably complained about. Since it was not fixed before this room was sold again, I was given a poor impression of this hotel's standard of service.
Good downtown location Advertised wine and cheese served which was not the case, no internet available in rooms, rooms could use updating.
They showed us to a adorable king size bedroom with a fireplace running! It was quaint! But we needed two queens. We got a very large room with lots of Windows! Breakfast had no juice. Hardly any food left. A little worn out. No mattress on the hideabed. No keys so we had to be taken to our room. Desk clerk was awesome though.
Location, friendly staff, clean room, amenities, very quiet. No parking due to an event next door we were unaware of. Given parking pass for adjacent lots but were refused entrance.
The room was clean and appeared recently renovated. I liked the microwave and refrigerator in the room. Breakfast was a plus. I heard the train both nights as I arrived at the hotel, but not while I was in my room.
Walking distance to downtown Some questionable people hanging around outside
Room was nice and spacious for my family. Excellent location from beach and downtown area. Excellent value
Clean and comfortable
Best Western Inn was a great place to stay for get-away weekend. The whole staff was friendly and also very helpful with giving tips for where to go during our stay.
Free breakfast with all the fixins. Close to main street. Inside lobby had a fresh 60s vibe. The rooms looked redone. Outside parking lot and face of hotel looking very rundown and tired. I don't feel like I got what I paid for. Could have gone to the motel 6 and paid a lot less. Plus some unsavory folk lurking about.
Remote controlled air was wonderful. Very comfortable mattress!! Best sleep I've ever had in a hotel. Construction was underway at the hotel so we had to park far away. The food was ok.
Room looked like it was recently remodeled. Room was located next to train tracks. Didn't notice at night but In the evening.
friendly, helpful staff....especially Alice!
Great staff, breakfast included clean. plenty of parking. Overall a pleasant stay. Great value for your traveling dollar. I would stay there again. The internet! Oh. my. god. it was slow! Practically useless. I had to use my iPhone as a mobile hotspot to get decent internet. Used Speedtest.net to get the numbers: 0.28 Mbps down / 0.10 Mbps up with a ping of 31ms. Strong wi-fi signal, though. Notified the staff, so hopefully they will have it fixed soon.
Close to the freeway and great value for the money. Nothing fun to do within walking distance.
Liked that it was close to what we were doing Didn't like the $75.00 incidental fee that the hotel charged that wasn't mentioned until I checked in
Once we finally got the room we paid for, it was spacious and clean. And it's dog friendly. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They didn't have the room we booked when we arrived, so we were put into a terrible double that they claimed was non-smoking but smelled strongly of smoke (and was wedged between nonsmoking rooms). The beds were canoes and the pillows were equally uncomfortable. The poor girl handling reception was apparently the only employee working at the time and the check-in line was several families strong. I had to return to the front desk because the first two sets of key cards completely didn't work. While the staff was great, they were definitely overworked. The whole place seemed mismanaged.
Clean, with no apparent flaws, except for what I listed. The rooms were tight when I arrived. When I opened the room, a stale smell of smoke greeted me. I looked at the TV cabinet and saw an ashtray. I lived with it knowing how full it was. Upon leaving I asked the front desk staff whether this room had ever been used for smoking. She replied "no, but I would give you credit to your account, but you booked though Kayak and we cannot help you". This was the frustrating part.
I like the friendly people at the lobby n the room were clean I would defenaly would stay again at this hotel Nothing bad yo ssy
My husband and I do not live too far away but we love gettting away in Ventura. We love the location and the lovely view of the boats. The only problem is that this hotel is small and I often cannot get a room on short notice.
My husband and I stayed here in 2007. We arrived at 11:30 am and was told we can't check in. We informed the desk clerk we were going to a Santa Cruz Island cruise and would not return till after 5 pm. She told us there wouldn't be a problem since we had reservation. Upon return, no room for us. Checked us in a room that was not what we reserved. Then they threw someone out of their room so we could have their room. I guessed the former guest was so pissed off, they dumped water all over the bed. We left to go to dinner, when returned, they gave our room to someone else. Our luggage were all over their office and some of our personal belongings were still in the room. No apology, nothing. We felt like we were treated like criminals. Will never return there.
We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Our room and bathroom were clean and roomy, the beds were great, the kitchenette was the perfect addition and the amenities were great. Our family of 5 was quite comfortable. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The free daily breakfast was good with a nice variety. The only drawbacks are that the pool is actually located at the Four Points Sheraton next door to the Holiday Inn, so you have to walk next door, and our room faced east and the view off our patio was a high stucco wall. Otherwise, the harbor is beautiful, downtown Ventura is charming, and Santa Barbara is only 30 minutes away. We would definitely stay at this location again.
I used to stay at this Hotel all the time - but like most thing in Ventura - This hotel is going down hill - I found they have all kinds of different room rates so if you make the mistake of staying make sure you work them over I paid $*+ and talked to 3 othere people that pd from $ *to $* for rm's- The Front desk the worst I have ever come accross rude and the management is just as bad - the room I had there was gum in the carpet-bathroom was dirty hair and all kinds of nasty thing around the totial sicking - we cut are trip short after our run in with this place - Don't stay - it's OVER Priced and dirity -
This hotel, overall was pretty nice. It was a pretty nice location, right by the harbor. It did seem a little outdated. The staff was pretty nice, although we didn't really have a lot of contact with them. The breakfast was okay, but there was such limited seating we had to eat in the outside area, which was locked from the inside. Other people were able to let you in, but I would hate to see what would happen once those people had left.
We could not have been happier. We were met by a wonderful staff that were available for any questions or needs we had. We had a great room that was clean and comfortable. A full breakfast was included in our stay. Bay windows overlooked the marina. We're makiong plans to go back in a few weeks! Excellent value!
The room was great. They upgraded us to a room with a view of the harbor at no extra cost. Bed was a little firm but not bad. Price of room included self serve breakfast.
We loved the hotel. It is definately worth the extra few $$ to get the Harbor View. The view from our balcony was great! The breakfast was very tasty wtih the hot entrees a nice addition. The beds were extremely comfortable and everything was clean, clean, clean! Will be going back next month!
My room was upgraded to a suite. Everyone was very friendly and I enjoyed my stay very much. The location is perfect.
The bed was super comfy & the room had a great view of the marina. We enjoyed our stay thuroughly.
My wife and I just visited Ventura for the first time and this hotel set the tone for a great relaxing vacation. We requested a room with a view of the harbor and a balcony which gave us beautiful sunsets and a real nautical feel for our stay. The breakfast was first class with a staff that seemed to anticipate every thing you could want or need. Our trip was to short to see and explore the Channel Islands, but we will definitely stay at this hotel when we return to do that.
Very clean and close to the freeway and food. The jacuzzi was cold
Awesome, firm, King Size Bed. The lights were all set to motion sensors. The one over the sink came on at least 5 times during the night and woke me up. Also, they did not re-fill the coffee air pots by the front desk. The clerk's response was simply, that one is out.
Free hot breakfast and the staff.
The clerk was very accommodating and friendly. We wanted to check in early and she arranged that for us. The room size was ample and the beds were comfortable. It was quiet even though we faced the freeway. The bathroom door was very awkward and large opening into the bathroom sink. You had to maneuver around the door to reach the sink. The fan was old and did not work properly as the steam from the shower would not dissipate. Location inconvenient.
Hotel was perfectly fine, but nothing special. Staff was friendly. Breakfast didn't have anything particularly fresh... just sandwich bread for toast, muffins, yogurt, and oatmeal packs. Not horrible, but I mostly skipped it.
Location is good for shopping to premium outlets of Vacaville, and near by highway, easy to find. Original named holiday inn when I book it couple months ago, but, when I arrive the hotel, the name changed to Central inn, it is funny and strange !!! I am not happy with the change, I buy holiday inn, but, looks like cheating me. breakfast is not good.
I stayed at 3 different hotels on this trip, and this hotel fell in the middle. Friendly, helpful staff. Plenty of parking. Clean room with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was 'OK', much like you would expect from a fast-food restaurant. When you check in, you're given 3 breakfast vouchers/tickets, if you show up for breakfast without one, you will be sent back to your room without breakfast. I'm still chuckling. The hotel is starting to show it's age, pushing 1.5 stars.
Wife was upset that the blow dryer was removed from the wall and not replaced there were the hole for the screw.
Location was good. When I called on arrival day I was told that I had no reservation because the hotel had changed hands. The individual acted as if it was my problem...sorry! I had to fight to get a room that I had reserved and paid for 6 months prior!

Proximity to my destination Key card failed 5 times

Good price, if you just need a place for the night.
Refrigerator, microwave and DirectTV with some movie channels was nice. I did not go to the pool but it looked nice from the street. Did not go to the breakfast but that looked to be fine. Bed was fine. Dirty walls, the door was hard to close and lock. Needs painting very badly! I had to use my Software Engineering skills to enable the internet as there were 2 listings and once your device auto connected to the wrong one you had to mess around to get the one that worked.
very old building. Not felt safe at all. bad air conditioning. Old Bathroom.
The property was well maintained and felt safe at night. Additionally, it was close to the freeway and shopping. The exterior and front office could use a minor facelift.
Old. Run down
