Launched in 2013 and refurbished in 2016, Princess Cruises' Royal Princess is 1,083 feet long and can carry 3,560 passengers and 1,346 crew. This Royal-class ship offers a traditional cruise experience, and is popular with families. It's common to see groups of three generations or more traveling together on Royal Princess.
The Royal Princess travels diverse routes, including tours of both coasts of the USA and Canada, a 12-day circuit of the British Isles, and Caribbean voyages where passengers can relax at Princess Cays, Princess Cruises' private island in the Bahamas. Here passengers can enjoy gorgeous beaches, a barbecue on the sand, and a number of water sports.
Royal Princess has 342 inside cabins, 730 standard balcony cabins, 358 deluxe balcony cabins, and 36 suites. There are 50 adjoining cabins ideal for family groups. All cabins have a flat-screen TV, desk, safe, and fridge. The grander suites have a separate shower and tub, but most cabins come equipped with a shower. Suite passengers can also take advantage of the exclusive Concierge Lounge.
Onboard entertainment includes enrichment programs, trivia competitions, and murder mysteries. There are two pools on the sundeck, with a colored fountain and light show at night. The Lotus Spa is calming and relaxing, with a plethora of treatments available. Gym facilities include a laser shooting range, a circuit area with different exercises to try, and a batting cage.
Kids can enjoy the lavish Youth Center, which is divided into three age groups, and equipped with fun play areas, video arcades, and sports activities.
