One of the newest ships in Seabourn's fleet, the Odyssey-class Seabourn Encore carries 600 passengers in 304 suites. This cosmopolitan ship usually hosts a number of different nationalities, mostly mature adults, except during summer vacation when multigenerational groups are more common.
Seabourn Encore offers Mediterranean routes of 11 to 22 nights. The 22-night voyage is a spectacular trip around the region, leaving from Athens, Greece, and journeying to Barcelona, Spain, before finishing in Venice, Italy. Shore excursions allow guests to sample local food and wine or explore cultural monuments. The ship places a strong emphasis on calm and relaxation, and at some port mindfulness experts lead guests through a wellness tour of the local area.
All staterooms on the 690-ft. ship are suites, and even the most modest come with a balcony and walk-in closet. Among the amenities offered to all guests are stocked mini-bars, atlases, umbrellas, personalized stationery, bathrobes, and slippers. A crew of 400 looks after the passengers and many visitors aboard Seabourn Encore are Seabourn veterans, enticed back over and over again by the friendly service and luxurious surroundings.
The ship has a large pool and a smaller plunge pool with two hot tubs. The sumptuous spa plays an important onboard role, with six treatment rooms, saunas, a hair salon, and a male-only pampering area. Experts offer talks about mindful living, and many passengers make the spa a focal point of their trip. The kids' program only runs when there are at least 15 children onboard, so most of the year, Seabourn Encore is a better choice for adult groups.
