Location and amenities are great! Valet was also great and they were friendly and fast Being placed in the room directly above the club. I requested a higher floor to be away from the club and its noise until 3am
Loved the showers!! We stayed in fort Myers at a condo, then due to bad weather we decided to head to Clearwater. Best decision ever! Took the key west express for a couple days and came right back to shepards! We will definitely be back! The elevates were slow... Took forever to get on one depending on the time of day. We mostly used the stairs.
The new renovations and the friendly staff That the only way to park your car was through valet
The rooms were very spacious and clean. The view from our balcony was if the beach and the club beneath us. The pool was very clean. On Sunday's they reserve it for hotel guests only......as far as the night club, they play a lot of techno but on Sundays they changed it up. Ohhh I almost forgot about the cheap drink specials. You cannot beat a 2 dollar drink. The resort was awesome all in all. You never need to leave the premises. But if you don't like loudness at night in your room from the music, ask to not stay on the same side as the club. Although there were no reserve seats at the pool. People did it.
Music was outstanding! The staff was extremely friendly! Beautiful view! Beach chairs should be free as a guest.
I liked everything about this Hotel, the room, the cleanliness and the location. The icing on the cake was the live band on the deck, the club downstairs and the bar overlooking Clearwater beach. Now I know where to stay when I'm in Tampa. Nothing, everything was an A+
Really enjoyed the overall hotel. Beach is small but nice. Pool is very enjoyable. Lots of bars that included specials. Hotel room was very clean. Hotel made our stay easy and fun. We did find ants in our bathroom but didn't see it as a big deal, simply took care of it ourselves.
The staff were very friendly. The hotel smelled like salt water, which, I realize is most likely due to its close proximity, however other places I've stayed did not have that issue. This place is solidly just ok. Not great, but not terrible. A younger, less pampered traveler probably would have been thrilled by the accommodations.
Several bars, a nightclub, and a stage with live music and a dance floor all in one resort. It also has a pool, hot tub, and a small private beach. Also walking distance to several restaurants and shops. I wish I could have stayed longer (not really a negative comment about the resort, just wish I had a lower vacation)
staff helpful, beach towels and chairs provided Funky smell in room like old body oder
Location They tried to charge a "resort fee" of $25 per room per night to cover "amenities" such as pool towels, a newspaper, small bottle of water in the room, down service, business and fitness facilities, and other minor incidentals that all major hotels provide for at no charge. I had them remove that charge from our bill. We will not stay there again or anywhere where they try to nickel and dime you at every turn. No self parking - and valet charge was $22 per day. This is in the off season and an outrageous cost.
The lobby was nice, the room was alright, and we had a view of the pool and the bay. It was right across the street from Crispers and Starbucks. This isn't the hotels fault or anything, but we were in the middle of old folks town, so all but maybe 4 places were closed. The bathtub in the room was dirtier than the average. We went to the hotel restaurant for dinner and waited over an hour for a salad and chicken and we never saw the waiter again after placing our meal order. There was a $16 surplus charge per day to use the amenities in the hotel that should have been included in the price of the room to begin with: internet, gym, business center, coffee maker in the room, pool, etc.
Comfortable bed, lime that there is volumn Water temp was not good, very cool. Wanted a hot shower. Bummed
The location is beautiful The staff was not helpful, billing and charges were not correct + plus I founds several more charges to my bill after my stay that were not authorized. Over all — not the best experience for my wedding night. I would not recommend to others.
Best location for July 4th pool party and fireworks show. N/A
The rooms were large and quiet. Beds were very comfortable. Bartenders at the pool were very service oriented. The check in staff were rather cool and reserved, not welcoming at all. When we checked out they were also distracted, didn't thank us for staying, didn't ask how our stay was, No chatting at all.
I have stayed at safety harbor spa on thanksgiving for the past three years. Meet friends for holiday brunch and then stay the night. I decided to order room service breakfast. I got cold eggs, bacon and barely toasted bread but the worst was the inedible breakfast potatoes. I am a tea drinker and the carafe for the hot water was coffee stained and the hot water smelled like coffee. Plus it was 1/2 hrs late and getting a phone call thru was nearly impossible, the room did not have updated info on how to contact roomservice, I got a voice mail box twice that wasn't currently receiving messages, four phone calls. Never got thru. Plus it cost $25.
After reading some reviews saying the hotel was dated and old, I was pleasantly surprised when the decor and environment was traditional and nice. The location was great for what I needed. I loved having a water view room, and I was able to take a short walk across the street to get to Starbucks and Crispers. It was also a short ride to the airport. The value for the room was great as well. The beds were comfortable, and the room was quiet. The printer in the business suite did not work.
Good space. Kitchen equipped well. Exelent beds. A/c don't cool down the hole townhouse.
I took a blind leap on this one and booked last minute. I checked-in in about 30 seconds easily and my room was a nice 2 bedroom suite with a full kitchen. It's an old hotel with character in what I call "old Florida style". Usually you'll find these around the state run down, but this location is in excellent condition with the room being remodeled. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the A/C was good. I've stayed in plenty of big name hotels that were not nearly as nice. There's no elevator to deal with since it's one story and it's drive up to the room for the most part so if you have lots of gear, you're good to go. It's about 2 blocks from the "strip". Those looking for a full service hotel experience won't find it here. No baggage handling, bar, or restaurant.
