I arrived at 10:30pm to a room that was not made. The bed sheets were all over the floor and towels were used and everywhere in the bathroom. After notifying the front desk, I was placed in a smoking room on the 3rd floor because that was the only available option left. Walking down the hallway, I could smell not only cigarette smoke, but other recreational smoke. I had to sleep with the window open on a rainy and windy night so I could breathe. Also, there was a frozen chicken in my freezer.
The central location and the great complimentary breakfast. The fact that they charge for their internet (for each computer connection) and I choose hotels based on internet accessibility for business.
Large suite. Clean. In down-town. Breakfast ok. Friendly staff. Good location (next to the river). Charging for parking was unexpected. Steep WiFi charges also unexpected when it is free in almost all hotels and coffee shops. very disappointed in this nickel and dime strategy. Especially, when they charge nearly 50% over nearest comparable hotel, this is very user unfriendly. Air-condition/heating unit made noise throughout the night. That vent could have been kept away from the bed room.
Lots of families great continental breakfast with lots of fresh healthy choices very impressed. Pool was a lot smaller than it looks in the pictures.Super close to old Sacramento which is right across the street with train rides horse & buggy etc $30 for Parking on top of $230 a night should be free if not cheaper.... Size of pool & parking charges were steep
Easily reached. Great pillows. Fee for wifi. Air condition kept noisily turning off and on all night
Love this place! Great location to Airport, Old Town, Sac State, Napa etc.
The hotel was very comfortable and it appeared very new. The room was very well decorated and we really enjoyed our stay. It was about 10 minutes to Sacramento Airport. It is also only 30 minutes to a large factory outlet for clothing, shoes, etc. (Vacaville Premium Outlets) A restaurant onsite would be a valuable addition although fast-food alternatives are just across the road.
The bed was amazingly comfy. Our bathroom was spacious, and the room was nice and clean. The breakfast was disappointing. No eggs. Just seasoned potatoes (they were too salty and doggy with oil) I expected more for breakfast. That was probably the worst part of our stay here.
We had a late check in. Then found a bug in our room so the Hotel staff moved us to a new room. The new room floor was dirty with food and food wrappers on the floor. By then kids were tired so we didnt move to a third room. Manager didnt give us a refund but we filed an application for a refund.
Everything was great. The staff were friendly, and everything was very clean and comfortable. Great price for a great stay I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
The staff was friendly. The room keys did not work. Each time we had to go into our room the staff had to let us in with their master key. They were going to relocate us to another room, but it was too much of a hassle for us to move all of our stuff.
The staff and services were top notch. The rooms were clean with the exception a stain on the sofa. Terrific shower and design of room. Mirror on the back of the bathroom door, so that you are looking at yourself while using the toilet. Beds were extremely film. Unfortunately it did impact how we rested.
The staff was sufficient, the cleaning was fine except the carpets. The offer of breakfast was nice and something I look for to save money when I travel. Carpets were filthy and didn't meet the cleanliness standards of which I have become accustomed. Not a hotel, as the doors faced outside. I was greatly disappointed in that. There were only two towels in the room. The breakfast was not very good.
The amenities were great. The map was very confusing. Did not know how to access gym area at first.
the breakfast The ice machine was dirty and had not been cleaned in a long time. My husband tried to get ice out of two ice machines and both were out of ice. The curtains in the room had dirty spots. The molding in the entire hotel was dirty. Carpets were dirty.
There was easy access off the freeway and free parking, We were placed in a substandard part of the hotel. The hallways were creaky, filthy, and were next to a back entry gate that was constantly being propped open. There were a couple of times when there were people loitering at the back gate.
Location Room and area smelled like smoke and the AC was not working. Cooler outside vs inside the room
Breakfast is nice It feel more of a two stars hotel then three. But staff are friendly and helpful. I wouldn't go back
Location. Decent breakfast. Water pressure.
Location. The rooms nice size too. One rude staff member when I got there in the morning. The AC to the room was really loud. But all in all, ok and clean.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
Room door was inside of the building No cell phone reception in the room, no elevator, can't take breakfast to the room without paying $10, room and building were old, courtyard area had garbage on the ground, housekeeping requirement/material were all over the floor, bed wasn't comfortable.
The location. It was very private. It was not what I expected from a 3 star hotel. I have paid alot less money for a 3.5 start hotel. It was not worth the cost at all.
Sophisticated decor, helpful staff, "beautiful people" hot spot. The noise from both the street and partiers went on until 3 a.m. Motorcycle engines revving, police called on issues in the street, shouting and yelling in the street, all echoed right up to our 7th floor room.
Everything. Place was absolutely beautiful. Great job.
The room was nice and clean. Nice appointments. Very comfortable. Large shower. The door on the bathroom was a slider and did not actually shut.
The hotel is beautiful and run very well. The rooms are cozy, well-decorated, and have great bathrooms. The location is also superb. The rooms are small, and the $25 valet parking is a rip-off.
Good location. The room was small but comfortable. The bathroom was a good size and user friendly. The decor was elegant and tasteful. The desk staff were friendly and helpful. I would return. No.
Staff was very friendly, the rooms beautiful.
What an amazing historical hotel with a great downtown location. I would recommend this hotel and we'll be back.
Made a reservation for 2 guest in a queen size room. Got there and checked in @7pm and was notified that I was upgraded to a king size room, big plus on their part! The room was cozy and comforting. It also includes a beautiful bar setup along with a wonderful street view. To be completely honest, the one thing I did not like was the shower. The rest of the room was was decorated and painted in its own style including the bathroom. But once you open the shower curtain all you see is plain, boring, tile. Both room and bathroom give off some bomb vibes, except the tile. Just kills the ambient. Other than my pity first world problem place was outstanding.
Lots of issues with room - lights not working, TV issues upon arrival and "pat" answer from engineer (remote needs new battery which we knew wasn't the issue but a problem with cable company). First night dinner in "temp" restaurant horrible. Didn't charge for one meal but just no attention to detail, wrong order. Experience better when Joie property.
The staff was great, well trained, accommodating and helpful The room was awful! It only had 2 tiny Windows, about 1'x2'. The mattress was old and soft, we kept slidding into the middle and did not get a good nights rest.
The location and overall atmosphere of the Hotel. The young men out front need to be more attentive to outward appearance of hotel and guest service.
Staff were friendly, breakfast was good, good location with easy parking Our room had a musty smell to it, as if the shower curtain needed to be changed out. We got in at 2:00 am and left the next morning. Had it not been for the brevity of our stay, we probably would have asked for a different room.
Cleanest room I have stayed at in a long time. Very close to midtown and plenty of goody spots. Year round open pool with solar heating. Plenty of free parking to boot!!! And the shower / amenities in the room have definitely been thought over when planning the comfort of the guest.
I could walk to my event down town and I could walk to the capitals as well Amenities fairly limited, the wifi was very poor in my room. Download speed about 5MB/Sec upload speed less than 1 MB/Sec
There was food Very cramped dinning space, couldn't push stroller very well there and also no scrambled eggs were available
Staff is extremely helpful and friendly - made us feel like they actually wanted us to be there. Breakfast was great; beds were excellent; bathrooms great . Fitness room was minimal.
Room very clean, nice attention to detail, bed very comfortable, good wifi. Love the indoor/outdoor feel of the hallways. Breakfast very processed and ho-hum. This was my third stay here and this time my window overlooked the light rail which was noisy early in the morning.
We stayed for a week-long conference at the convention center, which was three easy blocks walking distance away. The breakfast hours were convenient, and there was a wide selection of food, including waffles and biscuits and gravy. Comfortable beds, quiet rooms, and friendly staff all contributed to a pleasant stay. It was great to have a fridge and microwave in the room for storing and heating leftovers. The only bad thing I can think of to say is that there were some holes in the bedskirts that I noticed, and the sleep function on the TV remote didn't work.
The neighborhood didn't feel very friendly, and my room smelled very stale.
Room was really nice, very clean. Bed was comfortable. The wifi was terrible, it cut out every couple of minutes. The water pressure was super weak, very hard t get clean.
The room was very nice. Did not like being located on the side of the hotel facing the very busy highway. Did not like that the huge touring group with tons of children were screaming, yelling and running around the pool deck when I arrived at 9:30pm. I think the staff should be on top of noise level when it is excessive, no matter what time of the day it is.
Bed was firm and comfortable Ordering online we were not warned that we were booking a smoking room. We were given the room without warning and when we discovered how badly the room smelled, the front desk said it was the only room available. The room reeked of smoke and we work up constantly all night long from the smell. I have asthma and had to use my inhaler several times the next day to calm my coughing. The hotel was too noisy to keep the window open and that barely did anything about the smell. I will never stay there again and I do not trust last minute bookings on price line now. The only purpose of booking the room was to get some sleep before driving the next 2 hours home and we were barely able to do that. We may have each gotten 2 hours sleep over the course of the night.
Downtown location. Good valet parking service. No minibar
We attended a function in the downtown area and the location was perfect. Room key did not work initially, I called the front desk from a house phone and an employee checked my identification and opened the door, he returned a short while later with a new key.
Clean, modern room Did not have free parking or WIFI
The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were lovely. The reception staff were not very friendly or helpful. They didn't seem suited to the service industry. The concierges were very helpful and friendly.
Great location. Walking distance to restaurants. Donut shops. Thrift store shopping everything. We stayed for an athletic event but had some time to do other stuff. Close to a 7 eleven if you need a quick snack and self parking was across the street but easy to get to. A lot of homeless in the area but there is nothing the hotel can do about that. Just be cautious when walking at night.
Proximity to convention center, willingness of staff to accommodate requests
The Lobby, the Gym, the pool and the rooms are great. I also enjoyed the very friendly and helpful staff during the Sunday Brunch. Having to wait in line for 5 minutes for the elevator in my floor and up to 10 minutes in the lobby. There was a lot of people and the elevators took forever.
I loved the room service breakfast. And how close it was to everything to do in downtown Sacramento. I had such a blast and everyone was pleasant and helpful during our stay. Definitely staying here again in the fire
Clean rooms. The TV service is worst I have seen anywhere. Very basic service. A major basketball game is on ( Warriors ) and they did not have the channel, really! This is a business hotel in Sacramento. I go to the lobby bar and they have two flat screens circa 2005. Spend $1400 at Costco for two new flat screens. They missed the attention to detail that is required in this market. Will not stay there again.
Location and room Staff didn't seem to know the area. I had to go to a coffee shop to even know what neighborhood the hotel was in.
hotel staff there was no refrigerator; it cost to use wi fi; it was too expensive for one bed that was advertised as a double; it was noisy.
Location. Cannot believe the room have no Internet connection included in the price.
Location. Easy walk to plenty of restaurants and entertainment.
Location was very good. Proximity to Old Sacramento can't be beat. Easy downtown and Capitol access. Seem like nobody is walking around looking at stuff. Lots of details that need not be overlooked. Room was tired and many things didnt fit right, lots of patches but no fixes. Ready for renovation I think. Sometime during the night the A/C stopped working. Turned room into a boiling pot. Window are an option but noise is overwhelming even 10 floors up.
We enjoyed that there were so many restaurants and attractions within walking distance (ie. Old Sac and the Capitol). The employees were very accommodating. Thank you for assisting us in our downtown getaway overnight.
The proximity to shopping Mall. The food and drinks in the lounge were excellent. The staff as always were in a great frame of mind and went out of their way to assist you.
The location was great! You could easily walk to Old Sacramento! Wish it would have had free breakfast! Valet parking was frequently full, but parking garage was very close.
Valet and Front Desk were nice. Heard lots of people talking in the halls loudly and it smelled like smoke and I was in a non-smoking room
Location was ideal for the Sacramento Music Festival, staff was great, facilities were great. We had a room on the 10th floor on the side of the hotel closest to the nearby freeway. Traffic noise was an issue for us at night.
Only thing about this place is the location The lady working in the front desk. She was a mood killer and just being rude. She needs to have some manners and show customer service.
This facility is located at the entry to Old Sacramento and next to the New Kings NBA arena which opens next year. Also, walking distance to the state capital, fabulous restaurants, Sutter's Fort, Crocker Art Museum, and other points of interest! Great staff! No mini fridge!
We are not familiar with the area so we searched for a hotel close to Sacramento Airport with a shuttle and booked the hotel online. When we found out that we had booked the wrong hotel with no shuttle and tried to cancel reservation that we could not. We were not told it was past the deadline, but that 'WE ALREADY HAVE YOUR MONEY' I would never use that hotel again. We have traveled alot and have always had a certain amount of time to change or cancel a reservation. We paid for this room and my son in the Navy had to pay for a room in another hotel with a shuttle to catch his flight back to his base as he was home on leave,
The room was very nice and clean with a comfortable bed. The morning breakfast buffet was fully stocked and nice looking. The price was reasonable. The location is great for visitors to Old Sacramento ( 5 minutes away) without paying the high price of a hotel in Old Sac. Fast food resturaunts a couploe of minutes walk away.
We stay at this HIE once a month and they are consistent with thier service, always friendly and helpful. The room is comfortable and quiet. It has easy access to shopping, food, gas.
The breakfast was a nice touch - kind of interesting how they do it. Liked the little pancake assembly machine. Spa is there but I would never use it. Right off the lobby in a little room. Kind of odd.
Nice clean hotel with comfortable beds and a decent continental breakfast & free internet. All for a reasonable price. What's not to like. The workout room is small and fairly spartan.
Quiet. There doors that close and slam when they close.
This hotel was nice I booked this hotel not knowing what it was till I booked it. I was satified with the staff and the hotel. The price was great
Very convenient to I-85. Helpful staff. Clean and surprising fitness center for an express Inn. Would recommend it for travelers to Sacto.
Easy in and out of smaller scale motel. Sounds silly, but self closing bathroom door was always in the way!
Quietly, clean. Thanks
It served our purposes for the night in being close proximity to our destination. The breakfast was terrible. The omelette was cold and the American Cheese was not melted. The sausage patty was like shoe leather and also cold. Bacon was fine, but also cold.
Very close to my event The room I stayed in had a noisy genarator outside my window! In the morning my wife went to the lobby to bring me breakfast and to our suprise the night crew locked the kitchen and apparently no one had the key. The promised free breakfast was not ready!
super gut nein
Better unfreuntliches Personal beim Check-in
everything is comfortable.
breakfast was excellent staff had trouble speaking and understanding english language.was within walking distance to everything to do sacremento...... big bins in alley being emptyed early every morning
Proximity to downtown and Old Sacramento is good, plenty of bars and small bistros in local area. Cheap, clean, free continental breakfast - ideal for weekend trip.
The woman at the recepcion was wonderful with informations about the city !
The bed was comfortable. Great location. The breakfast food was good too. Where do I start? First receptionist was cold, she could of been more welcoming and smile! The blow dryer did not work in the room. We had a "do not disturb" sign in door, but the maids entered anyways (which should not of been entered!) and took all the towels. We had to go ask for towels. Very noisy parking lot and some one spilled a drink from the balcony all over our car.
Amazing staff, accessability to so many places & Blues cluns - 1/2 block from The Torch Club. Killer water pressure in the shower & milti-head shower/massager. Huge bed for a queen-size. Full-size ironing board & iron in room. Continental breakfast leaves a bit to be desired, parking spots really tight - but at least they do offer off-street parking
I reserved a non smoking room, however, there were none available so I was stuck in a smoking room. I have severe allergies, and turning on the heater really stired my allergies up and made my stay very uncomfortable. I will never stay there again.
Clean, nice breakfast
The price is good. The room was clean on the surface, but it felt dirty. The grounds felt grimy. It was okay. It needs some work and remodeling other than flat screen TVs.
IT Was easy to get to and the staff was very nice
The bed was comfortable and the television was big. Also the television channels were a good variety. My room smelled like someone had been sick and there was a huge wet spot on the floor. I called the manager and he never got back to me. The staff sent people to spray air freshner which only made the smell worse. I had a non smoking room but it smelled heavily
We asked if we could do an early check in for an up charge they said as long as the room was ready we could do it. I was told there was not gonna be an extra charge. Later on the day they called me and said we needed to pay an extra day. Did not even get an apology for their mistake. They need to get all their staff on the same page.
Nothing had to change rooms twice, room is dirty, morning breakfast doesn't have many options.
The room was inexpensive and looked clean. Front desk staff was friendly. The room had a strange smell that took a few hours with the windows open to dissipate. The continental breakfast was flavorless. Toast, bagels, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, juice and coffee all kind of tasted the same. The staff had to cancel a customer's reservation because the police were called due to the excessive comings and goings of random people from the room. On the last night there a couple was having a vocal and colorful argument outside my hotel room.
The location was freeway close and fairly close to downtown Sacramento. It was inexpensive. The beds were comfortable. The exterior of the hotel was dirty and rundown. The first room we were given smelled like cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. There was a lot of smokers at this hotel. There were only rooms with a single king size bed or rooms with two double beds. No rooms with two queen size beds.
Very close to the freeway for easy access. The room and breakfast were OK. The first assigned room was supposed to be nonsmoking, but as soon as I walked in it reeked of cigarettes. The front desk was very willing to accommodate my request for a different room which was fine.
The lock plate for my door was loose in the frame, so the door never seemed to be completely shut. My room smelled of cigarette smoke. And my room wasn't cleaned one of the days I stayed, probably because I slept in late. It isn't a deal-breaker, but it would have been nice to have been notified that they skipped my room, and gave me an option to request a room cleaning later.
The owners have clearly sunk some money into the property to modernize the rooms as well as beautifying everything. They have some work to do before it will be completed, but you can tell the owners care about the the place. We were bummed that the pool was out of order. But it was out of order because they are fixing everything on the property. Seriously, this place is going to be the crown jewel on this exit in Sacramento.
nothing the floor in the room was wet, because the sprinklers came on outside and flooded the room during the middle of the night. When I woke up and put my feet on the floor, stepped in a big puddle.
It was easy to find a prostitute Grounds were kinda dirty. Poor security. Decent hotel but prices are so cheap that druggies and dirt bags stay there. Up your rates a bit and hire security and someone to pressure wash the nasty sidewalks. Free breakfast sucked, I would have paid for a good breakfast.
