If he didn't have family living in Dallas, he would've incurred a hotel fee too."

You have to retrieve your luggage, go through Mexican immigration, recheck your bags, go through security again, and the layover was over 4 hours. You pay less, but it winds up being a very long, exhausting trip. I will take a US carrier from Quito to San Francisco, Reno or Vegas next time fir this reason alone."

I changed my plans accordingly and when I arrived at check-in was told I had just made the cut, and had only ten minutes to get to the gate. I explained the timing and was confused. They told me the flight was on time and that the email about the delay was just "a glitch". Not a harmless glitch. There was no communication before boarding to explain the mistake."

Even though we are fluent in Spanish it didn't matter because the employees didn't know what they were doing anyways."

He sent me to American lost baggage upstairs. I had to wait 40 minutes for the office to open. Then the woman working there was very unprofessional and rude and told me that I should have made a claim at the counter in the baggage claim area. Well, there are no signs that indicate that there is a counter where to claim your lost bags, you have to just be clarivident and know according to LATAN personnel. They found my bag and call us around 3:45PM, when they close at 5PM. Well getting to the airport before 5pm was a Mission Impossible action movie. Try getting to the airport in Lima during rush hour...finally, I got there on time to get my bag, had another encounter with another personnel that, again, attempted to blame it on me instead of doing her job efficiently and with a smile on her face...What is wrong with airlines personnel???"
