Exceptional
The views were excellent and the room was clean and full of light.
Lots of steps but totally worth it.
Beautiful stay
Clean, nice view, lovely staff
It’s down the hill, climbing up was really a strain on my knees.
The best hotel view ever
The hotel was amazing. The staff was very pleasant and polite, accommodating any ad hoc request we had, and offered excellent guidance on any questions we had. The breakfast was very tasty and very generous. The room was very comfortable, clean, and ideal for a couple looking for a romantic getaway.
Great but beware the stairs!
Views were amazing, sitting on the balcony watching the sunset was fabulous. And I loved being in a cave house. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was as excellent. Pool area was small but perfectly formed :)
It’s pricey for what you get but you pay for the location and the view. No tea and coffee In the room. Main thing to be aware of is the stairs, if you have mobility issues it will be difficult. It’s probably equivalent 6 to 7 flights to the top where the restaurants and shops are and the stairs are not that even so you need to take care!
Stunning location
The location of this hotel is amazing. Watching the sunset every night was spectacular and you feel quite smug watching everyone watch it from above on the rocks, when you can watch it from hotel. The pool area and sunbathing area is gorgeous and the rooms are really nice. There was also a great choice at breakfast and very friendly staff.
poor value for money, and...
The rooms are nice (although the equipment is rather basic), the view is magnificent, the pool is lovely
We decided to upgrade to a deluxe room (for an additional €100 per night) upon arrival as the basic rooms don't have a hot tub. The problem is that the hot tub was a bit cold which meant we couldn't really enjoy it properly on our first night there. The next day, we asked the reception several times if they could increase the water temperature for it to be comfortable. They kept assuring us they would - but when coming back to the hotel at 10pm that night, it was still as cold as it was earlier in the day. After complaining a fourth time with the lady at the reception, they finally sent a technician to change the temperature. It was well past 11pm by the time he finished, and frankly by that time we were simply no longer in the mood to go out to the hot tub. We complained with the manager the next day, he told us to write the reservations service who handled official complaints. which we did. but received an answer only after sending them 4 emails... and guess what? They told us they couldn't do anything about it, and wouldn't compensate for the fact we weren't able to use the hot tub (even though we upgraded just for that). Frankly, when you paying a total of €300/night, I expect top notch service. This doesn't even meet the basics of decent customer service.
Very good
Rooms very traditional and clean. Plenty of choice from the breakfast buffet. Nice quiet location just on the outskirts of Oia. Amazing view of the sunset from the balcony.
Steps, way too many steps in the resort. It was 96 steps from the pool/breakfast/reception area to our room. No toilet by the pool which meant we had to climb 96 steps every time we needed the bathroom. Pool area not big enough for the size of the hotel. Only 10 sun loungers available, you had to be up at 7am to reserve your space. Breakfast was very confusing on the first morning, no explanation was given about teas/coffee etc. We sat & waited for direction but nothing was forthcoming. No offer of porter service at check in, although it was at check out which was great. This meant we had to cart our bags up 96 steps to get to our room, the same steps that we climbed down to get to reception.
One of the most amazing...
The property is stunning, absolutely fantastic. Super romantic location, ideal for couples. The rooms are very unique and beautiful. We felt immersed in the Santorini world during our stay in this hotel. No words can describe fairly the experience we had here, every sunset we watched made us grateful for life being so amazing. It became a ritual to watch the sunset everyday from our room and then relax in the hot tub. It’s really nice to stay in the pool area during the day.
The bathroom doorknob looks nice, but not very ergonomic, making it sometimes challenging to open the door.
Superb Sunset
I cannot stress how much you should stay at this hotel! It is by far the best place to watch the sunset and you can see hundreds of people all crowding on the hill from 6pm, whilst at this hotel you can take your bottle of wine to your private balcony and watch it in peace. Amazing.
Highly recommended
We loved everything about Oia Mare Villas. Spotlessly clean, lovely staff, good breakfast with plenty of choice and - above all - a stunning location looking out over the Caldera.
Beautiful hotel, amazing staff and...
The room had an exceptional view. The staff was amazing, always helping us with recommendations, diner reservations and car rentals. The private pool wasnt 100% private as it was right by where hotel guests would go up and down, but totally acceptable. Would definitely recommend.
Everything was great, however, to be a perfect 10 it would be ideal if it would be possible to dim down the lights in the room, some nice led lights but wasnt possible turn other lights off while using those giving too much light to the room, but other than that was perfect.
Perfect sunset stay!! 🌅
Absolutely fabulous stay at one of the best locations on the island. Breathtaking sunset view right from our veranda, it was exactly what we had wished for coming to Santorini. The staff was amazing, very informative about different activities do on the island, they also gave very good recommendations for restaurants and wineries. The breakfast was also very delicious! Everything about our stay was amazing from beginning to end. 🙏🏻
Unforgettable Vacations
Our stay at Oia Mare Villas was perfect! We enjoy every moment with the view of the caldera, the pool and the breakfast!! Sunset is amazing at this side of the island and they have a private roof to enjoy! The staff was professional, helpful and very friendly! They helped us with every need! We will visit again soon!!

Oiamare villas is a wonderful hotel with a unique view!pleasant staff always with a smile! its breakfast very good as well as its services
Oia Mare Villas is a unique place to be, especially this period of time that cleanliness and measures of safety value so much!
We love the room, the location, the view and perfect sunset. Free shuttle from n to airport including porter from parking lot to our room for our luggages are really something. Bfast not much option but okay.
Lot of steps from the main street, but no worries...just take it as part of exercise :)
The breakfast was full of Greek flavours and I absolutely loved it. The staff was excellent and the accommodation just perfect.
I don't have any negative comment to add.
Sunset view, nice staff, cleanliness
I booked honeymoon suite but they first gave me a room right next to the reception place with very tiny outdoor hot tub and no privacy at all. I was very disappointed and that room was definitely not worth the money! The staff helped us move to another room which has much bigger hot tub and much bigger space/balcony and interior than the first room. And it locates much away from other guests. Whoever gets the first room will definitely be disappointed about this hotel. That room should never be given to any guests at all.
Everything was absolutely fantastic. The villa sits right on the cliff so the Aegean sea and the caldera view are right in your hands. Room was beautiful and spacious, sparkling clean of course. The view from the private patio was one of the kind. It’s a luxurious experience lying on the couch and watch Oia sunset. Amazing place and wonderful stay. Definitely recommended.
It was too perfect to describe it.
Posititon away from the cruise ship crowds who throng Oia in the day so it was quiet. Nice views over the caldera and the harbour below. Spacious room with own patio was a bonus.
The hotel was very good but not perfect because you have to climb down 160 steps from the village on top of the caldera . There is no restaurant so if you visit the centre during the day and return for a meal at night you will have climbed 320 steps and those on the mule route the hotel leads off also have fairly steep uneven step - not a handrail in sight so not suitable AT ALL unless you are VERY fit and active. One day we visited the village and in the evening walked down the steep ,terraced route to the harbour . Exhausting as the steps are broken up in parts and in total we walked / climbed nearly 800 steps that day. The location ,the number of unequal steps and lack of any handrailing needs to be made very clear in brochures as it is an important if not critical issue for the infirm ,less able , or if you are of advanced age.
Room was way to small and couldn’t upgrade, the friends we traced with had a much larger suite for the same price and booked at the same time on booking. Com
The views are amazing. You’re in one of the best places in Oia for sunset as well. The path to the hotel is a bit intense, but the staff carries your bags for you and shows you the way, which is amazingly helpful.
The journey from the street to the hotel is not for the faint of heart. There should be better warning about this. The path to and from the hotel is along a steep and winding cliff. Im in shape but was still out of breath going up the cliffs. The drinks are also way overpriced. Best to buy something at a nearby market instead.
Breakfast is good - lack of seating, and if it is a windy day then you get dirt all over your food. Excellent views! Great luggage service (We would not be able to bring our luggage up and down all stairs)
Washrooms have a distinct smell of dirty pipes. Didn't realize the number of stairs up and down - quite challenging for unfit people, really minimized our outings per meal and shopping
Beautiful location for sunset views, comfortable and spacious rooms, good air conditioning, good wifi, good breakfast, free pick up and drop off
Not much variety for breakfast
The list is too long for this box. The rooms, the bathrooms, the pool THE VIEWS. It truly is the perfect location for sunset. KIKI is the absolute best pool server that anyone could ask for, she anticipated all our needs (including making arrangements for pizza delivery!)
There is nothing to not like about this place, I will be coming back!
The traditional cave villa was beautiful. The pool fantastic. The view was spectacular. The staff were friendly and professional.
The location of this hotel is spectacular. It is truly beautiful, almost beyond words. The staff were lovely and very attentive. Every need was met quickly. And a special shout out to the guys who haul the bags up and down to the hotel!
Although we were fine, elderly and disabled people should be made aware that there is considerable climbing to and from the hotel. This is true throughout Oia but even more so in this location.
Amazing location with a super friendly staff. Great breakfast and spacious rooms
AC wasn’t super effective at cooling the entire unit, limited lounge chairs by the pool
The hotel and staff were fantastic, a little hiccup on the arrival when they failed to collect us from the airport and escort us to the Villa, however once at the hotel our stay was first class.
Transport to and from the hotel to the airport was unreliable.
Location is excellent.
The ‘free’ pick up and departure means the hotel insisted that we leave at 12pm for a 3.30pm ferry. Essentially that leaves you waiting at the power for over 3 hours. They should make that clear when you book since no other hotel did that to us. Also for the price the rooms are tiny
Beautiful views.was very clean and good breakfast every morning. Great staff! Wonderful room.
STAIRS!!!!! Way to MANY stairs! I have had two knee knee replacements, and I would NOT. Recommend this location for anyone have trouble with literally more than a hundred stairs from the center of town to the hotel and then down more steep stairs down to the hotel itself! I read a few past reviews concerning the amount of stairs, but thought it wouldn’t be that hard...it WAS! Not for any over 40 as fair as I am concerned. (I am 60) The first night, I sent my husband to explore the town, I just couldn’t make the treak uphill after walking down just 2 hours before...I only left the hotel once a day and prayed I would make it back safely.
Beautiful location, friendly staff!
Nothing , everything was perfect.
Staff person “KIKKI” was the best. Very attentive and approachable. Went out of her way to make us comfortable.
The crowds. The room did have a funny odor
This place was absolutely perfect. The pool is essential in August as Oia is incredibly hot. Everything was so clean comfortable and luxurious. The staff were warm and welcoming and helped with anything you need. Would 100% recommend.
Nothing. It was perfect.
The staff was so rude
Perfect location
Location,Rooms and staff
Great views over the caldera. Very clean and spacious room
Breakfast does not have a great variety of options. It's bit too limited for a luxury hotel
We had to check out super early but they made it work. Even brought us a surprise breakfast package the night before without us asking!
It is very expensive but you get what you pay for in this specific area.
Very nice room. Staff are very friendly and polite. Very nice view. The hotel is built along the hill. Those who book this hotel should make sure that they can walk up and down quite a number of stairs.
Unique, well kept, great staff. Magnificent views.
Nothing
There was little to like. The place was a total disappointment.
We felt cheated. The misleading and deceptive advertising led us to believe that we would have a private hot tub on our terrace. As it turned out the hot tub was not at all private and was visible to anyone travelling up and down the 100's of steps to Reception as well as to the persons in the room next door. Add to that the 120 UNEVEN steps from our room to the main thoroughfare many times with no handrail and the stay was a nightmare. But there is more. The breakfast had awful weak coffee (though you could get real coffee for 5 Euro) and "orange juice" that was sugary cordial and not real juice at all. Now for the bed - it was so hard it felt like we were sleeping on an ironing board.
The staff was incredible and assisted us with any and everything we needed! The location was perfect and the sunsets amazing!
Location was fantastic x staff were great very friendly
Everything was top notch. The location is absolutely stunning. The staff treats you like family. The breakfast was delicious with great variety. The rooms are cool and quiet as they are all "cave rooms."
The location was perfect. Stunning views and an incredible staff.
Liked everything
Perfect location for Oia sunset from hotel’s private balcony. Hotel offered complimentary shuttle transfer service from airport to hotel. Super strong porter met us at the drop off location and carried our luggages to our room. Although there were a lot of stairs to climb up and down, it was fun and worth it.
The view from the hotel was unbelievable - absolutely incredible location! Also the private terrace for hotel guests to watch the sunset was a great amenity - we had two fantastic evenings there enjoying the beautiful sunset with other guests.
The location is great. Ideally I would prefer to have the location at higher level. Just too many steps to manage
Only one bottle of drinking water on day 1 but the mgt agreed to provide a bottle a day after I brought it up..
Beautiful, private location in the heart of Oia. The villas are beautiful and clean. The breakfast and pool area are small, but it was never crowded or busy. Oia can be very crowded and touristy, especially when cruise ships dock for the day. But as soon as you take the first flight of steps down to the villas, you are in a different, private world with no distractions! Staff was great and extremely helpful from airport transfer, carrying luggage, and check-in. I would highly recommend staying here. My only small complaint was that the bed was a little uncomfortable - but the view you see when you wake up makes up for that!
Comfort of mattress
Amazing breckfast, views were incredible! Friendly staff. My room was beautiful
So many steep steps but its worth it
Excellent location. Friendly staff
There was no phone in our room. Porters were good but very slow in bringing our bags during checkout
The location is magnificent. It is on the side of the island that can see the sunset. You have a private viewing area for the sunset. A private porch to view the caldera with lounge chairs. A private front porch for every single cave room. This is a bucket list location/vacation. It exceeded our expectations.
nothing was negative. If I was elderly or had trouble with balance or a lot of steps, then this is a poor location. That is the only drawback
Location was incredible! Unbelievable views. The staff was amazing! Margarita and Vickie at the front desk were extremely helpful and friendly and took care of all of our needs and coordinated everything for us (porters, transportation, quad rentals, etc.). Demitre prepared delicious food for the breakfast buffets and wonderful cocktails on the veranda. Our rooms were so comfortable, air conditioned and clean and included everything we needed. Our rooms overlooked the Caldera with beautiful views from every angle. Wish we could have stayed longer!!! I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Santorini!!!
NICE ROOM, VERY COMFY, CLEAN, NICE BED
The hotel overall is not the bad. Nice new room during the stay, buffet breakfast with many chooses. Quick room making service. Only thing makes me mad, when i booked it. it said free mini bar in the website. But i found nothing in the minibar ( plenty) , then i told the lady at the front desk. She said 'yes, you are right. When you put something inside the fridge. then you are free to take. ' I felt like being prank' Is it supposed to be funny? It is okay if you can't provide anything in minibar, i can accept it. But that lady completely treat me like a fool. I want to let the hotel know if you screw one thing up, you can pull down the whole experience to the customer. One more thing is there is only one room which can see the view of the sunset without being blocked. I wasn't lucky to get that one. Don't think you must can have sunset view from your room.
Nice location, good pool and loungers, huge room
Would have expected a little more hospitality for the price point. Weird rules like can’t take pool towels to the beach but no supplied beach towels, no drinks or sunscreen at the pool, etc
As friendly and well located as you read on line. Very nice property ... beautifully situated in Oia. Highly recommend.
Everything
Nothing
Demetrius did a great job preparing breakfast, excellent! Margarita took care of everything, very helpful.
Very pricey!!
Location! Location! Location! Beware it’s many steps and steep but it’s soooooo worth the view. It’s warmer on this cove side and has exceptional if not the best sunset view! Note: at sunset the crowds are intense but from our room we had no reason to leave. We did walk to the grocery store by the bus stop and stocked up on a few snacks, drinks, etc. which was nice to have on hand. Front Staff (Vickie) was wonderful and very helpful in booking excursions or answering questions. Kitchen staff very pleasant too! I’m picky about cleanliness and my room was spotless. Other reviews complained about beds but we found them very comfortable. If you have to work during your stay the WiFi worked but wasn’t great indoors. I’d book to stay here again without hesitation! Also the porters are incredible they will carry your bags the 300+steps to your room when you arrive and leave- I’m not sure how they do this job all day! Definitely make sure you eat dinner at Dimitris Ammoudi Taverna - we had the pleasure of meeting Joy the owner and she’ll even take you into the kitchen to select your own fish- she’ll also give cooking options which we gladly tried and it was perfect! (Tell her we sent you- the Anniversary lady who dropped her phone in the ocean)
No full length mirror in room! Bathroom area could use hooks for towels near the shower.
Everything was great! Nothing to dislike
Nil
Great service and beautiful view!
Our room was amazing. Far better than what we expected. Breakfast was great each morning with a wide variety to choose from. We loved every moment staying at Oia Mare Villas
Location
Beautiful views. Yummy breakfast. Sweet and attentive staff.
Bed hard as a rock. A/C intermittently stopped working. WiFi terrible. No cell phone reception.
Location when in Oia this place is one of the best.
The location was perfect! Absolutely loved this place. It was close to the Main Street of shops, but also away enough from the crowds. It also had a great view of the famous Santorini sunset. Just beautiful.
My only minor suggestion would be to have some sachets of tea/coffee in the rooms, especially since we had cups and even a kettle in the room, but no tea or coffee without ordering room service.
Location
The temperature maintained within the took.was little uncomfortable
Location and the sunset view
Slow check in process + we waited long time for the transport from the port. Also they need to work on and update the breakfast menu.
We booked a standard room with caldera view but got upgraded to a suite for a 5 night stay in Oia. We took the free airport to hotel shuttle, which the hotel provided, and it took approximately half an hour to get to our destination. There was a bit of a walk, which was beautiful and we don't mind. Margarita, the receptionist greeted us with a warm welcome, provided alot of helpful information and answered our questions during our stay; check-in was fast and easy. Staff were nice and friendly and always greeted us with smiles. The hotel is located along the way to Amoudi Bay, so there were a lot of stairs towards and from the hotel itself - not recommended for people with knee problems, but other than that everything else is perfect. The view is breathtaking from any part of the hotel which is a plus plus. Breakfast was delicious too! Thank you Oia Mare Villa, the service was amazing and we had such a wonderful time.
This booking is done from tarve agent , and they did not accept it.
These villas were nothing short of amazing. The views were spectacular, the staff was amazing, and the room itself was very cozy.
We did experience a power outage and a WiFi outage.
The view of Caldera and sunset is breath taking. The property location and facilities is a treat.
Mobile network connection is an issue
Oia Mare villas - heaven on earth - literally! The hotel is located on the quieter side of the caldera, which we loved as it was away from the busy pedestrian street. You also get a direct view of the sunset right from your patio = bonus! We loved everything else about Oia Mare, from the rustic but upscale interior decor of the room to the amazing breakfast selection and welcoming/friendly staff. If this is your first time in Santorini and you’d like to stay cliffside, Oia Mare is where you want to be!
na
Staff & rooms
Too far down the bottom of Oia; around 300 steps and it makes it tiring to go up and down.
The location is fantastic and we were able to watch beautiful sunsets from our own balcony. It’s also well located to explore Oia, and has spacious and very comfortable rooms. Highly recommend.
Great helpful staff,nice views
The food was amazing. The location was great the staff were lovely
My friend and I couldn’t share the bed and the couches were very narrow. So we put them together on the floor. Pretty bad considering the room was $800 per night
Amazing view. Friendly staff..
Access to the hotel was a tedious walk.
The location is perfect for watching beach sunset in Oia. And the staff are amazingly friendly. They have free shuttle bus services from airport/port too.
Everything! The views were amazing, the villa was incredible, the suspended bed was fantastic!
Nothing! There are, however, a large number of steps both up and down from the villas
The location is great for its views especially the sunset. The staff was exceptionally helpful! Large breakfast buffet was delicious. The cave rooms were clean, comfortable beds and great shower. I would definitely stay here again.
As others have mentioned the stairs are a challenge for some people. The stairs are well lit.
Clean, comfortable, beautiful room, good services!
The hotel itself was really nice and comfortable that I could have a proper rest while visiting oia. And we could view the sunset in the hotel which bring us more exclusive experience as well. The ...
The only thing that I may think about is the price was a bit high but I did enjoy my entire stay with the hotel which could compensate the price.
The scenery, leg workout everyday
Everything was just perfect! We had a little balcony from where we had the best place to watch the sunset ! Staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. They gave us some tips for excursions and we ...
Perhaps the very small tables you sit on for having breakfast.
Staff and view were amazing!
Lots of steps but overall it’s a great place to stay.
Great location / view, pool area was great, staff were friendly.
Shuttle service was friendly, quick and a huge help. The location was amazing, just in the center of Oia. Good breakfast, helpful staff.
Not the room we requested, different from the picture. Not good value for money.
Spent 2 nights at Oia Villas at the start of an 11 day stay in Santorini ... and it was the best place we stayed by far! Fantastic location. Friendly staff (that carried our luggage down the MANY ...
A little more variety at breakfast ... freshly cooked eggs / cooked to order would be superb.
The breakfast was incredible although be careful as they charge extra to have it to your room.
We booked a honeymoon suite as one special night to celebrate our anniversary - it was very expensive but we picked this hotel based on the incredible pictures shown for the room on the website. On ...
The staff was very accommodating and the property was in a great location to see the famous sunset! The mattress was very comfortable and the property was clean and quiet.
It was a trek to get down to the hotel but worth it for the view.
The location is perfect. There is a main street directly head to the bus termination from Oia Marry, and you would pass by several perfect picture spot on the way to villa. I can enjoy the sunset on ...
Everything staff polite and very helpful the view priceless and ser vice well above expectations Worth another visit very relaxing
All was good but not the hotels fault the climb up the hill to get to shops did keep you fit easy by the day
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful hotel. The view is spectacular even if you don't have a room with a view, you can sit by the pool terrace and enjoy the gorgeous Aegean sea and the caldera. Room ...
There is not much to dislike here. Everything was so good it feels like nit-picking to say what I didn't like. In the interest of fairness I will say that some of the food options from the kitchen...
Chef was amazing and very helpful every morning especially with my daughter’s allergies. Staff were very helpful and hard working. Porters were extremely helpful with the luggage. Transfer to/ ...
Great staffs and after check out you can still use the swimming pool.
Some room cant see the sunset but you can walk around inside the hotel to take photos
The views are spectacular, the staff are very helpful, the towels were changed everyday, the room was comfortable and very clean. Great aircon.
You have to be reasonably fit as there are a lot of stairs to climb.
Large rooms, and beautiful setting. They had limited food options at the hotel. There’s lots of stairs to get down to the hotel from the main road. If you have anything that limits you from walking ...
The overall property, stylish rooms, pool and views are amazing! The service is 5 stars. Baggage porter: bless his stamina! You can also have access to the roof top for your sunset photos. Memorable ...
I booked online and it said that the one hour transfer from the Port was included both ways which I loved. When I arrived with my daughter, unfortunately the hotel had not sent a driver but it’s only ...
Location - Amazing, Staff - The best I’ve experienced at ANY hotel, unlike other hotels in Oia - Bar prices at OMV are very reasonable. Would book again with no hesitation. Thank you for an amazing...
Only negative - we couldn’t stay for longer.
Wonderful location, particularly for sunsets, great staff and wonderful outdoor lounge area.
I was given a small room, fit only for an individual, which was ok, but it was really small, their smallest room, I called it a cave room with no room for even a small table and a chair. So, I had a bed and a bathroom/shower but that was it. I wished I had known it was going to be so small.
