The excursion departs at 12p.m. This flights arrives at 11.25 a.m., but the lines in immigration are stupidly long. We arrived at the counter at 12.15. In a very unfriendly way, they explained the excursion had left, and no possibilities for joining it in Town. So, we were stuck at the airport for several hours. How stupid is to offer an excursion to passengers in layover, but program a flight with 300 passengers to arrive just in time to miss the excursion? Somebody has to think this over. This excursion should leave at 12.30, and it would avoid dozens of passengers stuck and unhappy."

So I had figure out how to change all of my flights from there to Kansas in the States. All with bad internet service and unhelpful costomer service. And having to deal with two unexpected long layovers. All that to say, sending periodic emails is important especially if the flight had been changed."

Positiv: "If you are flying Turkish from the US or from Istanbul to the US or other far away destination, for the love of God, do not fly on the B777-300. Did that twice from Chicago to Istanbul and back, and the seats in economy are a real killer....very tight and uncomfortable. On the other hand, if you have a choice of Turkish aircrafts b777 vs AB330-300, you will do yourself a favor by selecting a flight on an AB330-300. Slighter smaller plane then the 777 but a little more comfortable in coach. So you are warned......and by the way, you will select a two seater combination rather than being stuck in the middle.....If you are stuck in the middle, always do your best to get at least an isle seat."

Before leaving to Istanbul when we were in New York we asked if they would reroute our flights from New York City to Naples, Italy since the terrorist attack occurred in Istanbul causing the airport to be shut down. We were reassured that there would be no problems and we would be rerouted once we landed in Turkey, and lo and behold our flights were canceled. We had to spend the day in Turkey, pay for our own food, and pay for the visa €30 per person. This all could have been avoided had they rerouted our flights to another city."

It was very pleasant and we thoroughly enjoyed the flight. We felt like we received first class treatment in the economy section of the plane. From warm hand towels, beautiful menus for meals and beverages available, a toiletry bag and much more. The inflight entertainment was awesome. Love the large screen and the touch screen abilities. So many great choices."

The boarding process was also not organized well at all as we lined up in our groups, but people did not follow this so although we were group A, somehow people from lower groups were boarding before us. Positiv: "We had a very short connection as a result of a long delay in our flight from Athens to Munich. Lufthansa held the gate open and helped us get on board tom our flight to Chicago. The plane was big, roomy and the seats were comfortable. There were adequate number of toilets so people didn't have to stand in long lines. The crew was very friendly in an efficient way, not like in Asian airlines where the passenger gets coddled. I particularly appreciated the serving of water/juices every so often to stay hydrated."

The airline did not open the gate area until 1+35 prior to the flight (advertised 2-hrs prior), and did not put anyone at the gate-desk until 1-hr prior to departure ...and they still could not help us. Boarding was disorganized; Lufthansa appeared to board by different groups, but there were no announcements as to which group(s) should board. Instead there was just a large crowd milling about, waiting to push their way to a gate agent. Very un-German."

So he ends up having to pay for another Lyft back to our apartment in Dallas, then another additional one for the 12 noon flight the next morning. If he didn't have family living in Dallas, he would've incurred a hotel fee too."

Then our luggage lost for 3 days. Not happy! We ended up flying from Toronto to Paris then to Bordeaux. Lost my upgrade money for seats. Now have to deal with KLM for refund!"

Alle nass ins Flugzeug. Aber, das liegt natürlich an der Abfertigung in Birmingham und nicht an KLM."

So it's one thing that you have to cancel the flight because of fog; but rebooking us the next day on a flight through New York that doesn't exist, was way below the standard of care I would expect from any airline. Apparently, the NY to LAX flight that KLM booked us on, was only one leg of the flight to Sydney Australia; and according to some airline agreement, only Australian nationals are permitted to take that flight! Running around at JFK from terminal four, to terminal seven, to terminal eight, back to terminal four, to get a flight out, was a bit much considering how tired we were – not to mention hungry, since KLM neglected to provide the kosher meals we had requested with plenty of time – BOTH going to and returning from Europe."

Negativ: "A baggage loading problem meant that all baggage needed to be offloaded and then re-loaded......this took 2 hours and then another 20 minute delay due to congestion with air traffic over France! Where were the cabin crew during the delay? They may have not been onboard given their lack of visibility during the delay. The only time they appeared was to distribute a cutlet of water and a packet of dry biscuits. Inflight, apart from the meal service routines, on this 13+ hour flight the crew were notable for not being visible."

Negativ: "Luggage lost and not found. Contact to executing airline KLM very difficult, because the case-nr. on the "lost-luggage-form" was unreadable. but without this number, you can do nothing, because it almost impossible to get someone on the phone at KLM. Mostly you talk to computers. Obviously the phone is oldfashioned and you need twitter and facebook. Poor service, KLM So you can have a pleasant flight, but if you need service, you are lost."

Warum fragt man mich nach der Auswahl, wenn es nur 1 Option gibt (Lunch). Gerade von einer asiatischen Airline erwarte ich hier mehr, auch in 'Economy'. Die Sitze waren sehr eng."

Not getting an aisle seat was disturbing at my height. Then there was the guy in front of me not willing to forego putting his seat back on my knees for over half the flight. It would be nice if the seat assignments for general boarding considered the height of the person being assigned."

Positiv: "The food was great. Very filling and hot foods were hot and cooked thoroughly. For our 8 hour flight we were served 2 meals and snacks and plenty of hot drinks which was nice.The entertainment was great got to watch movies and play games and also learn language through games."

CDG (Charles DeGaulle airport) is poorly laid out and poorly run, in my opinion, starting with the landing of our flight. After waiting over a half an hour after landing to de-board, we were given much information In trying to get to the proper places to check certain baggage items, and we walked up and down and around a whole terminal trying to get to the proper gait. This is not the first time I've had a bad experience at this airport. Thankfully, the flight itself after that horrendous experience was good."
