I loved both the ground and flight crews. They're so patient and willing to accomodate us and help solve problems. I only wanted to suggest if they can give us more new or not so new movies to watch.

Positiv: "The crews on ANA (Flight Attendants) are the hardest working, most polite and service oriented of ANY carrier I can remember. When the cabin lights are ON, the crew is hustling to keep the passengers occupied and chewing. Free Beer, Wine and mixed drinks in Coach! Every Service - Snack, Drinks, Lunch, Dinner, Coffee/Tea, Second and Third rounds of drinks includes a cold towel to wipe your face and hands and most important, trash is collected promptly EVERY single time. WOW. I noticed that Flight Attendants take notes on sleeping passengers for every major meal service, and they take the time to revisit those customers when awake to check they might have wanted to be fed. I also noticed that the crew has special double sided tape to pickup crumbs and spills in the aisles so grime is not tracked into the carpet. Dont be surprized to see a flight attendant cruising the aisle after dinner with a soft cooler full of small vanilla Hagen Daz cups..."
Negativ: "We flew from Bangkok to Washington Dulles with a connection in Tokyo. Snow in Japan caused crew shifts to max out and ultimately a dramatic change in flight departure. (Guaranteeing a missed connection) This caused multiple downstream challenges. 1. Original flight was scheduled for 00:30. (Half Past Midnight), rescheduled flight was scheduled for 12:30 (Half Past Noon) For Americans unused to a 24 hour clock, this made emails From ANA very difficult to wrap your mind around. Was it a typo? What happens when you miss your connection? (Turns out weather delays do NOT result in accommodations or meals being provided) Rescheduled flight should have been for 1231 with (AM/PM in Parentheses) 2. For passengers who spent their vacation/trip near the equator, the prospect of spending the night in snowbound Tokyo was simply not addressed in the cancellation email. The better option was to stay in your original point of origin and make the connection in one day, but email has NO telephone number for passengers to call to make these arrangements. (We ended up calling a toll California telephone number to be sure we got an English speaking agent) 3. Many SE Asian departing cities have a crazy baggage weight policy that allows for Two bags of 25 Kilos each , but if you have a single bag that weights 32 Kilos, you must pay excess baggage. Although the policy may NOT be specific to ANA, there are hundreds of folks of all nationalities repacking suitcases on the floor of the airport, to try to meet the regulations. As a traveler I understand this, but as an ANA customer it makes no sense, especially when the ticket agent cannot charge the overage to a credit card at the ticket counter. Instead sending you to a different location then waiting for you to return with a receipt. Its a huge scam and ANA can do better communicating the rules to passengers via email or their web site. Nothing starts a long trip off worse than arguments over arcane rules. 4. Changing a return flight arrangement as a result of weather happens at the last moment, but seat assignments apparently could not keep up. I would rather NOT fly than face a center seat in coach for 14 hours. I cannot explain what happened, but repeated attempts at advance check in showed NO assigned seats available, the ticket and gate agents could not improve on this, but BOTH flights ended up having empty seats and in the end we stressed for nothing. ANA must be able to do better, improving their IT systems to make advance seat assignments possible no matter how challenging the problem of "equipment" and other changes in the face of a canceled flight."

Positiv: "The flight was less busy than usual (it was an Easter Sunday departure) and so service was a bit more relaxed and friendly than usual instead of just efficient. Left gate a few minutes early and arrived 20 min early in Tokyo. Flight time is pretty good - 8pm departure which gives time for a relaxed day sightseeing in Dusseldorf before going to the airport in the late afternoon, Arrival in Tokyo is about 2pm which would be a good time to check in to hotels and relax. Food was good - dinner after take-off and a brunch-type meal a few hours before landing. Entertainment system is also very good although I'd flown a lot recently so seen the films I wanted to see already. Sometimes ANA are just "good" but this one was the best one I've flown recently."

We later upgrade seats via Singapore then discovered the duplicate booking and misspelling. To fix that JustFly cancelled the booking with the seat upgrade. Singapore restored our upgrade at the airport but only on one direction so we had to go through it all again."

Negativ: ""Customs" at JFK came to an entire halt. All passengers where stuck in the welcome hall for 1h, without any information, why held there and why nothing was moving forward. All CBP booths were closed, but 8 (eight!) employees, who normally direct arriving passengers to the kiosk-machines where hanging out in two groups sharing private stories and having laughs instead of at least informing passengers, what was going on. Lots of passengers where outraged...a couple in their mid 70s in front of us had to sit down on the floor, since they had circulation problems from standing in line so long. Sadly, JFK isn't what it used to be anymore."

Die First Class von Emirates ist sagenhaft. Kann ich nur schwerstens weiterempfehlen. Die Kabinen, Toiletten/Duschen, das Personal, Essen und Onboard-Unterhaltung wird man nur schwer toppen können.

My overall experience on this flight from CAI-DXB on Emirates was great because of the wonderful crew, on top was their Supervisor/ Adel A.Hamid El-Hareth. On the contrary my decision after an experience with Emirates on board from DXB-LAX, was never to repeat it due to Crew Supervisor, she was British, she was there on board I guess to teach everybody disciplines with a tone !! Someone exceptional to meet once in life but it may bring you to a decision along with other factors not to fly again with Emirates to LAX. Food: Chicken with peppers average, no good taste Drinks: had to broken cups, one on the top (changed that), one at the bottom with a hole in it. Red wine spilled all over my trousers and pullover. Shit happens, but (a) what about the quality of the goods and (b) how does the crew handle this? Crew/Service: Generally friendly, but the guy who served the red wine had no clue how to handle this: 1. Red wine on cloth is bad to clean 2. After I complained about a possible problem with cleaning and the possibility that the stain would stay, no reaction, only sortiere and the Recommendation from him was to use soda water which was actually not at hand and took him more then 10min to bring it. 3. I requested for the supervisor. She was very friendly and took my email address to write a report on this. I am now waiting for reaction and possible refund for cleaning or more. Another drink was offered but that was all until now. So I am curious about the reaction from Emirates. Overall it seemed like Emirates has a bad standing in BKK: - Bus boarding on B777 - No clear information about gate - Bad quality of material (cups) - For Emirates under average food quality Additional remark: The following connection flight from DXB to DUS, was very good, overall quality as expected from Emirates, food and staff was very good. So the above review from BKK -> DXB might have been an exception."

I just carried 43 inch tv weighing 19lbs and one check-in baggage weighing 21kgs and they made me pay 175$ saying that tv size is not in allowed limitations. I have also filed complaint but didn’t get any response so far . Last year my husband carried 55 inch with ethihad from same airport JFK and was not charged single penny. so I can say there is no airport restriction as well."

Excellent service. departed on time, and arrived ahead of schedule. The whole restrictions around no food/drink is a bit weird even with Covid. Also, no mobiles and iPad use during takeoff and landing is very 2006!

While on flight, flight attendants initially refused to serve us food stating that we should've ordered in advance. This was NOT mentioned during booking & clearly stated that food would be served as complimentary as per any International flight. I've been flying international for the past 10 years & have never come across such an incompetent lot. This was our honeymoon trip to Thailand & we 'Thank' Thai Airways for ruining it. Will never ever make the mistake of flying with them. And will make sure our friends & family do the same."

And yes, we checked in together. There were lots of confusing messages"
