For the past few years, I have been purchasing 1st class for it's spaciousness. On this flight, on the RCJ700, I did not fly comfortably. The space was very tight, and I was able to stretch my legs as if I sat in economy. This was by far, my most uncomfortable flight ever. SMH; A WASTE OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!!"

We lost a day of our vacation, had to stay at hotel. Not good experience at all. We still don’t know whom to complain about that."

It’s simply called Halal otherwise then everyone else’s meals should be called Christian or Jewish meals etc. Also I requested help with transfer to my last flight which was horrendous because I’m one adult with 4 kids ages 1 to 11 and my eldest has sever learning disability. I nearly missed my flight because our flight landed late and I was struggling to keep my kids safe and together while running for the next flight. Somone should have been there to help with transfer."

It’s funny they use the old fit our A380 but such a long flight."

Positiv: "The food was pretty good and the staff were friendly. During our transfer in Paris, my mum had a medical emergency and had to go to the medical centre. As such wr couldnt go to our final destination in Morocco and had to get our luggage off the plane. The staff at the AF counter were very helpful in that aspect. And when one of the luggages was completely damaged, it was replaced it with a brand new one which was fantastic. On the way back, we had some issues with the ticket because we didnt go to Morocco as planned which resulted in some trouble checking in. But the staff at the counter were quite helpful."

We had to stand aside while the inpatient staff cleared us. Naturally as more passengers went ahead, we had to search hard for a place to stow our carryons."

Sitze sind in etwa so gemütlich wie bei Kurzstrecken Billigfliegern - also gar nicht. Das Personal hat durchgehend auf allen 4 Flügen meiner Reise mit Iceland Air auf isländisch vor sich hin getratscht, während dem Flug und auch am Ende zur Verabschiedung, zusätzlich waren die Englischkenntnisse des Bordpersonals meist eher rudimentär. Werbung für einen Stopover in Island bekommt man überall, vor allem innerhalb des Entertainment Programms welches sich nicht einschalten lässt ohne das man einen 5,5 minütigen Werbefilm anschauen muss. teils zieht sich das weiter wenn man einen Film ansehen will. Icelandair hatte uns einen Flug mit 30 Min Umsteigezeit gescheduled - was mich sehr nervös gemacht hat als wir dann Verspätung am Rollfeld hatten und dann noch Bus fahren mussten. Der Anschlussflieger hatte sein Boarding bis kurz vor Abflug geöffnet und wir haben es dann easy geschafft. Man muss auch erwähnen, dass es in Reykjavik mangels Sitzmöglichkeiten einfach ewig lange Schlangen gibt in die man sich einreihen muss. Wenn man auf den günstigen Preis verzichten kann: nie wieder Iceland Air!"

Negativ: "Operations at Rekjavik airport are a disaster! Flights are so late that you cannot possibly make the short connections Icelandair has built into its schedule. The crowds are overwhelming. There are not enough gates for planes, so they park out on the tarmac and buses are used to take passengers to the terminal, which slows down the transfer process even more. Then the bus sat at the terminal with its doors closed and didn't let us off immediately. Once in the terminal, quick transfer cards were given to other flight's passengers, but not to ours. We showed our boarding pass to the person collecting the quick transfer cards. Our boarding pass plainly showed our flight was to depart at that very moment and the security person still sent us to the long line for passport clearance! The only reason we made our flight was because literally every flight was delayed, so our connecting flight left late. They were calling our names over the PA as we ran through the terminal, after finally getting through passport control. We have never had this problem at Rekjavik before. We asked what was wrong and the personnel told us this is the normal situation now. This is unacceptable! I will think twice before using Icelandair again!"
Negativ: "Comfort - It was tight. We went JetBlue to get to the Icelandair flight and the seats were wider and more leg room. Food - Don't serve any and the flights were 4-5 hrs and each leg (more on that below on biggest problem). Yes you can buy food but they didn't have all the selections and for flights 4-5 hrs long they should provide something. Biggest Problem - gate management and connections were a BIG ISSUE. We had this coming and going on our trip. First US to Europe: We got into Reykjavik and sat for awhile on the tarmac then were herded on busses to get to the terminal (no gate for us). We had a 50 minute connection that was eaten up by this sitting on the tarmac, then busses (standing in rain), then customs, then running to the gate. From there another bus, more rain, then on the plane (again no gate). They did hold the plane for us but no special fast lane in customs, was told to sit down while we were sitting on the tarmac (I only wanted to see if we could get off first to make our flight). Second Europe to US: A repeat of the situation on US to Europe leg. Sitting on tarmac, busses (no rain this time), no gate, customs (this time we were told we could go through fast lane on the plane but was told no at customs). So, all of this to barely make our connections do you think we had time to grab some food to eat on the plane since they don't serve any food - NO."

Bei einer 10-stündigen Reise eine Zumutung. Getränke Auswahl war mangelhaft, vom angebotenen Sortiment waren einige Getränke nicht verfügbar. Mir wurde im vollen Flugzeug ein Sitz in der letzten Reihe gegeben, dessen Rucklehne nicht verstellbar war. Zusammengenommen war es die schlechteste Erfahrung eines Fluges in den letzten Jahren. Ich werde definitiv nicht mehr mit Icelandair fliegen."

If it hadn’t been for the generosity of a fellow passenger who offered to pay for it on her credit card ( I gave her the $16). I would have remained hungry"

Negativ: "There was no free snack or food available on this flight, which was overnight and overseas. There was only a 45 minute layover, so no time to purchase food at the airport either."

Negativ: "I know it's an economy airline and there is a first class/business class option. I personally thought the economy seats could use some more leg room. Quite tight for a 3+ hour flight. But overall, satisfied, and I would fly again."

Negativ: "Part of the deal is that Icelandair didn't include a meal on our flight from Munich to MSP (transferring in Rejkavik). They do have things you can order from a menu (and those were quite tasty), but just be aware that meals are not included. If this (and asking you to pay for wifi) keeps ticket prices cheaper, it's probably the best situation for everyone."

We spent extra money for a hotel near the Munich airport, paid for shuttle service, plus meals just to make the early flight and we never got notification we were kicked off the flight."
Positiv: "Comfort Economy on Icelandair is way above what other airlines do for "premium economy". The seats themselves on all four legs of my trip were the same as in "Saga Class" - the main difference is the service (Saga gets custom meals and other amenities.) But Comfort gets free food and most drinks (except champagne) from the menu plus lounge access."
Negativ: "Nothing I received told me where to check in for the flight - MUC Terminal 1 has at least two distinct checkin areas and there was no signage nor anyone staffing the info booths. When boarding started, the "gate lice" crowded around the door area, but people were polite about it. The plane was delayed half an hour or so, but the time did not update on the gate display. While this flight, as with other Schengen zone flights, departs from the A gates, the lounge is in the D module and to get to it you have to fight the crowds stuffing a narrow corridor awaiting passport control. It wasn't too bad getting to it, but coming back was a trial, with many people thinking I was jumping the line."

They informed us in Munich that we would miss our connections to the USA and would NOT re-book until we got to Reykjavik. They only have 1 flight out every day to the USA so they booked us conveniently in their Icelandair Hotel, had a bus transfer and dinner buffet all set for us. The whole thing felt a little too set up and I still cannot figure out what the scam was but it felt like one. The following day we were delayed again by one hour and by the time we were ready to fly it had started snowing so we had to be de-iced so another hour added. I am not sure I would fly with them again unless I was visiting Iceland."
