The only thing that was inconvenient about this flight was the check in process. There was a lot of confusion. The flight itself was very good. Super friendly attendants, decent food, good in-flight entertainment.

I have some pictures to prove it , my flight from SP to Fort Lauderdale I could not sleep at all. Not only me but the passenger in front of me . The seat was broken, where you rest your head it was falling apart, I tried to put it back but kept falling. The flight attendant tried once and gave up . I asked to change seats and they did not let me do . I had to fly basically straight all night , I could not rest my head on the seat. Never again with this company

Also, after I walked through the gate, several boarding flights merged confusingly in a single passageway with exits to multiple planes and many people got lost and ended up (temporarily!) on the wrong airplane, despite heroic attempts by the ground crew to direct passenger traffic. There must be a better method than having everyone follow colored lines to the planes - it wasn't working!"

Wheelchair assistance was horrible in Detroit. When told, after check-in, to go to the access area, we were informed we were third in line. The 2 in front had been waiting over half an hour. We thought there would miss our flight if we waited. So that did not happen. On return, there was absolutely no assistance, or of its prospects whatsoever. If you need special assistance, forget Delta. .

They booked the passenger in the next flight 9 hours after. They did not provide any food nor hotel so passenger to stay at the airport. My guess, they overbooked the flight as they always do, this trip was for my son (20) traveling by himself for the first time, they took advantage of his inexperience; this is is my 3rd bad experience with Avianca and definitely the last one!"

Positiv: "Tried to have two of my children's flight changed to our flight but the Avianca flight person said they could not do the change in Cusco and instead to do it in Lima.. The flight left 45 min late to Lima and arrived 20 min late. We ran to the Avianca counter and they then told us we were too late to make the change after 10 min of talking. We all missed our flight to bogota as a result and they told us flippantly we would have to pay to fly the next morning because the next flight that night was full. They then tried to dismiss us with a phone number to call to get help. After I protested, the supervisor finally cane over and after explaining how many times we were not helped and given false info, she finally miraculously found seats on the next flight and put us on it, in the very back of the plane even though there were many seats throughout the plane available. It should NEVER have come to that. I am disgusted with Avianca's customer service."

Lied to in Lima about there being no seats on the next flight. Not helped and instead just given a phone number. To make matters worse, I also felt like we were racially discrimated against. We are African American and were treated poorly compared to the two Peruvian men who missed their flight as well. Avianca has a problem if this is its policy."

From USA, San Jose, Ca, to Frankfurt, Germany everything was good (flight on 08/31/2018 - 09/01/2018). They have been very profesional, beganing wih the boarding time untill the arrival in Frankfurt. The flight to Romania was a different story. They haven't been very professional at all. The flight had a delay and nobody said a word. It was just a clerck there who didn't tell to the Lufthansa passengers for a while anything about our delay. So, finally, he said after 15-20 minutes that our fligt will be later, 20 minutes, than the scheduled time on our tickets. They seemed do not care too much about the Romanian passengers."

The 50 minute ATC delay couldn't be controlled by LH, but the original equipment replacement was at the bottom of the overall delay. My "A" window seat in economy had significantly reduce foot space due to a metal box installed in the space. The seat was not particularly well designed, but it's economy so you get what you get. The food was average at best."

Die Sitze hängen, wenn man sie verstellen will, die Armlehe am Gang lässt sich nicht hochklappen. Der Klapptisch ist wackelig und schief."

Bonus points for the Beemster cheese sandwich (I was totally disappointed when they served the food, but more than pleasantly surprised by the quality of the cheese - I even bought some afterwards, from the Albert Heijn just outside the security area)."

Passengers were divided in 5 lanes, depending on their seating area withing the plane (for a more efficient boarding, I presume) but, by the time we all got to the actual aircraft, we formed another queue in the boarding bridge so it didn't feel like any time was saved or anything."
