Great location for Raiders fans. airport shuttle. Great staff
Quick check in. Clean and spacious rooms. Accommodations
We always get king suites with Hampton Inn, and have yet to be disappointed. This particular suite seemed a little bigger than average. Perhaps it was the floor plan.
Love the do it yourself waffle breakfast Flat screen tv did not have hookups for my digital camcorder
Loved the location. Felt safe, close to airport, and also close to the bay. The roads around were a little confusing.
The hotel is nice and the room was nice size and clean. Unfortunately, though with very little more effort this hotel could be great, but instead it comes up lacking in major areas. The bed was horribly uncomfortable, and despite there being a nice kitchen area, there was no coffee maker! We went down to get coffee at 6:30, the time designated for the grab and go breakfast availability, but there was nothing available until 6:45.
It had hot water and felt secure. Within the flight path and got real loud during the night. I had to pay a $100 deposit to get the room. That was a first. The hotel was fairly new but the furniture looked like it came from thrift store. Very firm bed. Sticky floor in kitchen. No fun.

Hotel was lacking ... wireless has poor reception. Breakfast was only coffee.

I went to the Oakland vs Carolina football game and this location was perfect. We even had a post tailgate party in the parking lot with no complaints. Go RAIDERS! And it's right next door to Raiders Headquarters. Be sure to have your navigation handy, there's alot of rights & lefts to get there.

The room was clean, except the oven was really dirty. We arrived after 1am and had to wait 45 minutes before we could check in because the computer was doing an audit. They were not apologetic about it. Not much of a selection for breakfast. Bed was small and uncomfortable. Would not recommend.
THE SECLUCION THE DULL TOWELS
the front desk people were amazing. they helped me with anything i needed and were very polite.didn't care for the attitude from the manager. I had a 24 ft. u-haul stolen from the hotel property and later found out from the officer that did the police report that the area of the hotel is known for crime. if that info was on the hotel ad I would have thought twice before booking with them.
Freundliche, kompetente Mitarbeiter; gute Lage. Vorzügliches Frühstück. Das Hotel hat Flair. Nichts
Nice secluded location, private. Parking , & coffee is only available til 9:30 am
Nothing horrible Everything horrible
Excellent friendly and smart staff! Quick drive thru tunnel to Oakland. And five minutes from Ferry to SF wharf 41. Easy walk to Target and Safeway. Clean, airy room. Will stay here again.
It was cheap, available and not too scary. The front desk personnel were helpful. Room was clean. Heavy bleach smell in lobby. Free shuttle runs every 30 minutes so keep that in mind when getting ready for flight time.
Room was clean. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Easy check in and out. Friendly night clerk.
We were given no choice but a "smoking" room. The smell was disgusting. The room was on the ground floor with no window screen so keeping the window open was not an option. The waitress at a nearby restaurant warned us it was a dangerous neighborhood.
Very nice under every point of view..the room, the amenities, the pool, great breakfast and varied too. We could finally sleep well, great beds.
I book this room last minute and was looking for value. I was visiting SF and wanted a place that was affordable. I went to school in Berkeley, so I somewhat knew this general area. Room's in SF were pushing roughly 150 a night not including parking. I booked this room for about 80 bucks and free parking! The room overall was nice. I was not looking for anything 5 star, but I sure as hell was not going to stay at some dump. 80 bucks for a place to stay the night seemed just fine to me. Also, this was a really nice excuse to explore a little bit of Oakland. =D
Ants in the bathroom, flies in the room... area was not nice and not very safe. Wound not go there again. TV was not clear. Basic cable only (at best).
overall facility was above par. Pool, spa, continental bfast and computer/printer area met expectations. Biyonka was very helpful and smoking hot. My truck had all windows when I woke up in Oakland. Room pics online didn't match. Someone took the pics with a gopro
The room was clean but a little small. The bed small for two persons and the current of water for the bath tub was really slow. The rate of the hotel is kind of pricy.
Staff was extra nice late at night Hot tub ice cold after a long day drive. Not able to get on wifi perhaps bandwidth
I always get a clean quiet room when I come here to travel with my family. Never had a complaint yet.
Simple but good breakfest, good price and next to San Francisco and friendly staff. I was booked a non smoking room but the room has a hard smoke smell.
It was clean. Everything worked. The staff was not very friendly. We were put in a smoking room on our second night when we had asked for a non smoking room.
Unangenehmer Zimmergeruch.
Zimmer, Sauberkeit Verpflegung
2 entrances front and back access to pool. Easy and safe gated parking. Large spacious room for the money. No cons at this time
This hotel was very close to the airport and had a free shuttle. The rooms appeared clean. Very outdated, did not feel safe, could hear everything neighbors said, seemed more like a pay by the hour place
We didn't' come to vacation, but to have a place to sleep. The hotel was adjacent to the airport, available and safe. We stayed one night. The staff and shuttle service were great. Thank you.
Staff at the front desk was nice and helpful. Park and fly was convenient. Found a cockroach in the room that wanted my sandwich and some of the power outlets didn't work.
Staff was great took care of us and where on point which all the little details Needed more shampoo and conditioner!!...fit under my boob
I loved the room and the space in the room. When I walked through the hallway it smelled so good....awesome experience!
Not safe !!! Had to park down 2 blocks in parking garage !!! No hotel parking like listing said !!! No deals like we were PROMISED FROM KYACK !!! You could tell our ROOM WASNT CLEAN...THERE WERE USED TOWELS EVERYWHERE AND WHEN WE CALLED TO COMPLAIN ALL THEY SAID WAS HUH THATS STRANGE !!!! Lame not worth it if your looking to go to a show and dont want to worry about your stuff...THEN DONT STAY HERE !!!! I work at hotels and this was by far one of our worst experince !!!
Convenient to San Francisco and the East Bay. Nice view of The City and The Bay. Good comp breakfast changes every day.
We asked for ice and got it right away. The bed was comfortable. The walls and floors were so poorly sound insulated that we felt we were living WITH the people next door. We heard every word, every TV program, and every time they flushed their toilet or showered. Luckily, most people were quiet after 10:30 PM. Lastly, for the price we would have expected rooms to be upgraded instead of plastic showers and routine accommodations. Maybe if we had a quieter room, the other elements would not be so troublesome. However, we didn't.
Overall good experience Parking limited
Breakfast was good with decent variety of foods. The week day front desk staff not helpful or friendly.
There is a shower only, no bath. The wall is thin. The noise were heared from the adjacent rooms or the passage. The room is narrow.
Balcony, view, color, staff, proximity to office. told it'd be $20 for valet, but valet told me $25. I was charged $20. train sucked.
The location is nice, good restaurants within walking distance in the area. The staff was pleasant and helpful and the wine & cheese hour was a nice touch. Everything was great with the exception of the thin walls, which unfortunately makes it a deal breaker for me.
The room was incredibly dirty and the beds uncomfortable. To be specific there was an unflushed toilet with something not so pleasant upon our arrival into our room. Completely unacceptable. The television did not work either. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again.
Clean rooms, close to downtown Oakland, waterfront views. Thin walls and ceiling, could hear everything our upstairs neighbors were saying and doing, including peeing into the toilet! We were placed in a weird room right off the lobby and could hear people arriving and checking in. Was not worth the money we paid.
The only thing we liked is its location, right next to Jack London Square. The bathroom is tiny and outdated. no tub for my children. Advertised "city view" was actually view of the back alley/parking lot. $25 valet parking was mandatory, no self parking. not going to recommend or stay there again.
Lovely evening meal at restaurant having a limo called for us when we had asked for a cab!
The staff did a wonderful job. very friendly Parking and the cost to park no breakfast for guess
The location in Jack London Square, fairly spacious rooms Unexpected noise of the Amtrack as it passed very close to hotel
Everything was perfect. Except the breakfast at the attached restaurant was fairly expensive and the service was not superbre, but the hotel itself is a true pleasure to stay in.
It's been years since I've stayed at Jack London Square. It's definitely gone up a step. Waterfront Hotel is an easy access location - both for driving and the train. Great restaurants both right in the Square and a short stroll away. The rooms are clean and comfortable and it was surprisingly quiet even with all the events during our stay. The ONLY drawback was the hallway maze to our room. If we just followed the numbers we eventually got there...but no two paths were the same. Our coffee maker was broken but they delivered hot coffee to us immediately on request. The TV was also out but the cable was replaced while we were out for dinner. Perfect service.
Bar & restaurant were under renovation-- if I had known at time of booking I would have stayed somewhere else
I really liked everything about this place. My room was very stylish, and it came with all the usual amenities. The room was smaller, so I'm not sure if I would be happy there if I had to share the space with someone else. I don't know if all the rooms are that size, or if I just got a small room because I was by myself. For just me, it was the perfect size. The AC works well, which I've come to learn isn't a given at many "upscale" hotels. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is right in the center of everything in Berkeley, so there are plenty of restaurants, drugstores, cafes, etc. within walking distance. It is conveniently located next to the downtown Berkeley BART station. I didn't have a car, so I didn't need to deal with parking, but I imagine it's not easy or cheap. The restaurant has really good food. There is plenty of seating in the lobby/bar area to meet with people to discuss business or have a couple drinks. I just really liked it here. They focus so much on helping each customer as much as possible, that several of us stood waiting at the check in desk for a really long time while one obnoxious customer waxed poetic about all the things he wanted to do while he was in Berkeley. They need to be more conscious of calling for help when a line starts to form.
Location. Front desk service was horrible. Room Service was worst. Terrible food. Had a hair in it. Oatmeal was lumpy Service was way off.
I've stayed here several times over the last few years; I had a flawless, enjoyable experience each time. This last trip they even held some rather bulky packages / equipment which had arrived a week early for work, without question. The staff is always friendly, rooms are immaculately clean, and the location (right across Allston from the Downtown Berkeley BART, a block off Berkeley's campus, and close to several good dining experiences) is excellent.
Every staff member I encountered was smiling and went out of their way to say hello, open doors, offer to help, etc. Very impressive!
Since my son started attending Berkeley two years ago, I only stay at the Hotel Shattuck when visiting him. Thus far, I've stayed at there six times. I have NEVER been disappointed in the accommodations. Admittedly, some reviewers complain about the price. But, hey, considering the location, accommodations, staff, and amenities, I'm not going to complain.
Conveniently located in downtown Berkeley, across the street from the BART station and a couple blocks from the Cal campus. Some nice restaurants and bars nearby. Very nice accommodations and this was the quietest hotel I've ever stayed in. I never heard a single sound outside of my room. Rooms are a bit small but still very nice and comfortable.
Rooms were fine. Hotel was clean. Reception and bar service awful. Card keys did not work. A/C stopped working. Small, crowded lobby. Shattuck area is not inviting.
Clean and vast room, everything working as it should.
Proximity to the airport and the front desk staff was awesome. It was perfect.
Pickup at car rental and transport to airport
Very convenient to airport. Pick up and delivery to and from airport very timely. Hotel clean and staff personable. Would prefer to have internet access available in all rooms and included in hotel rates. Restaurant staff (waitress and kitchen) is slow and food is fair at best, especially for breakfast.
I liked the location to oracle arena and the coliseum. What I didn't like was the squeaky floor above. EVERYTIME someone walked in the floor above you could hear it.
Eveything! It was really confortable and the environment was really friendly. Totally worth the money!
comfort of the sheets hallway carpet was old and the television was not modern
Convenient locatation, gated parking. The rooms are tired. When you walk in the room its hard to believe that this is a Hilton property. This goes for the mini lobby in each of the satellite buildings. Needs a complete makeover or become a new company line called Hilton dormatory .
Very clean Very comfortable bed and room Close to the airport - good for very early or late flights Convenient shuttle service to the airport and BART station I could print out my boarding pass for free on the lobby computer Compared to other hotels in the area with similar quality, it's very good value Complementary wifi had issues - the signal showed as strong, but I would have to reconnect almost every 30 seconds, and that's not an exaggeration. The device doesn't have this problem with other networks, so the problem seems to lie in the network itself somewhere. There is free Internet in computers in the lobby, and I would recommend using that instead.
Clean large rooms, friendly staff, near airport Nothing
The rooms are extremely dated, and have a very bad smell.
Proximity to where a concert was occuring.
It was a very confortable Hotel. Very new and clean, bulit few months ago. I will go back for sure if I am in San Francisco. Very close to thwe airport. Very kindly they come to pick me up to the rental car location. GREAT !!!!! NO
Like that it's close to oracle arena and bart system. Staff during day time was super nice and helpful. Thanks Jordan, John, and Jose the driver was great. Didn't like that there was no continental breakfast for us. The restaurant is nice but pricey. Literally there isn't any shops around hotel. You have to take the bart to get anywhere. Good for in and out business but nothing else.
The only thing that frustrated me was the lack of information about facilities and services. The staff member who checked me in gave very little detail about how things worked because there was a line of people waiting to check in. For example, I didn't know that the shuttle was only available at certain times and that I had to sign up for a time. I didn't know the hours of the cafe, etc. It would be helpful if all of this basic information was given out on a sheet of paper at check in so that I didn't have to keep calling the front desk to figure things out.
Water and apples at the lobby. And the free shuttle to airport ect. Street side room was noise with traffic noise.
Loved the peace and quiet. Didn't have to go far for food. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The sheets weren't fully clean ughh.. Had to have housekeeping change the sheets.
The staff was great. Friendly and helpful Didn't like that we had to wait for the shuttle to get us to the airport. Wasn't really their fault as teh taxi they arranged to take us at 4:15AM didn't show up
I was incredibly disappointed I'd made a reservation and when I'd arrived they did not have a room for me because they were overbooked. I arrived at midnight that night because I had a late flight in. They did not attempt to contact me to let me know. They paid for me to stay at another Courtyard Marriott that was 45 min away, which created additional challenges for me because it was 60 min in rush hour to my business meeting the next day. I was incredibly disappointed with their practice of overbooking.
How clean and comfortable it was it felt brand new Nothing
The hotel was very clean and the staff was very organized and welcoming.
