Good selection at breakfast.
Would have liked an electric jug and fresh milk to make a cup of tea.Comfortable and quiet.Handy to all in Battle Creek.
Any positive was quickly overshadowed by 1 employee, the owner’s son. The rest of our complaint: Other employees were visibly afraid of him. Perhaps there is more entitlement going on? Perhaps the on site inspection that is “corporate policy” may help resolve that issue? Perhaps listen to what corporate has told you and attempt a resolution instead of ignoring the situation?
Exactly how unsafe is your parking lot for guests? Per a male employee, “my parents own this establishment and I park there (handicap parking) so my car doesn’t get dinged.” He followed up with, “I can move it if someone needs the spot”. The attached picture is from July 12-13. After his disgusting entitled attitude, we were then harassed by this employee. He had seen our handicap placard and my husband in his wheelchair many times, yet felt the need to send another employee over to ask me if I’m disabled and if I have a handicap placard? Then hang up calls to our room later that evening, to the point I had to take the phone off the hook? After my first call to corporate (before the harassment), I received a disrespectful email from the owner. The ONLY resolution I requested was for him to move his car and not take a handicap spot from a person with disabilities. Corporate stated, since it’s an ADA violation it’s corporate policy to send someone to the site. After the hang up calls, the harassment was bad enough I called corporate again. At this point, I was given no choice than to let them know it was affecting my husband’s PTSD and the need for him to use more medication. I’m disgusted by the behaviors and entitlement of the owner’s son. 2 resolution dates have since come and passed with no contact on your part. Mommy and daddy owning the establishment does NOT trump Federal law! The Americans with Disabilities Act does NOT have an entitlement clause! NO, we were not going to search for you and ask you to move your illegally parked vehicle each day when returning to the hotel! There is a reason for these LAWS and it definitely isn’t entitlement. July 14, as he saw us driving away (knowing we had checked out) he was backing into .... the exact handicap spot we pulled out of. I stopped my vehicle, he moved and created his own parking spot. The entitlement is still there and the OWNERS are responsible.
My room was very clean. Close the Bedford Valley golf course (10minutes). Prices are very reasonable. Close to a couple downtown good restaurants and within 6-8 minutes from a large grocery store etc.
Neighborhood is a little “sketchy” but have now stayed here 4 times without any issues. Never felt unsafe but the surroundings may give the wrong impression.
Presidential room was nice.
Stains on sheets
Its downtown, not a lot of traffic so its easy to get around. Its close to interesting things to do downtown, close to nice restaurants.
