Gute Lage, sehr sauber. Hotelpersonal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.Frühstück sehr gut! Poolseite nicht empfehlenswert da neben Highway, jedoch gute Verglasung der Fenster.
The location is great, close to everything. The staff was pleasant. The rooms really need to be extensively remodeled, at the very least. It feels like a 50 year old building. Relatively clean, but after this much use, it feels, looks, and smells old. Astonishingly bad value - we paid well over $500/night for a second floor ocean view room. If it had been half that, I would have said it was about right for the money.
The location and view of the ocean across the street is great. Way overpriced for the mediocre room/facilities. You're paying for the ocean view and Santa Barbara. The bathroom was small and dirty - the toilet wasn't functioning properly and the shower had clumps of hair in it. The elevator jolted upon the doors closing and had an expired permit in it. The AC unit was very loud and mounted near the head of the bed - it was so loud we had to turn it off to sleep, and it was a hot/humid evening. Over $350/night and I had a 'view' of the motel 6 outside of my window. Overall disappointed.
Staff was excellent, made our stay special. Beautiful views of the ocean from our room/private terrace. Comfortable beds and maid service was great. Must pay each day for parking ($28) in addition to hotel price. Street parking was hard to find at times at night. Unclear if water was filtered, must use tap as bottled water was not provided. Layout of buildings is a bit confusing.
Waterfront location, architecturally attractive older main building Steep parking cost, no free wifi in the (ancillary) building I was in
Not much to like there Old, run down and grossly overpriced. Garbage truck visits every morning - noise as if it is parking in your room. Oh yes, do not forget freeway noise - omnipresent. We were seduced by the brand name and made a mistake. Not all Hyatt properties are made equal. This one is a dump.
For some reason I felt this was an indoor hotel, not a motel. Past that shock, the location is very convenient. The room is small with a tiny bathroom. The bed was not comfortable and the cable tv has bad reception. Want coffe? Think again, as i checked the coffee maker there was an used coffee pouch in- do they ever get cleaned?! I say this is ok for a one night stay, not a good deal for the price.
Needs some updating. Shower doors, etc.
Clean rooms, attentive staff at front desk Wifi didn't work in the room behind the pool, too much noise from neighboring guests
It's a decent bed to sleep in at a reasonable price for the city it's in. Room clean. Bad neighborhood, limited parking, 70's era facilities.
The room decor, comfort and the surroundings were nice. We were in room 242 which was right next to the front desk, on the first floor. During the evening (10:00 - 10:30 PM) we could hear the noise from someone walking around in the room above. I couldn't figure out why there was so much movement in a small room. The same thing happened in the early morning (6:00 AM - 6:45 AM) It reminded me of a cheap apartment in New York where you could hear the person on the floor above bustling about, getting ready for bed and for work in the morning. Wasn't happy. Front desk said the usual.. "sorry about that". Words are words. Lowering my bill makes me feel a little better. For $300+ per night, I should sleep like a baby.
Every thing was as represented, made my stay very easy.
I enjoyed having the restaurant on site, the food was very good. And my son enjoyed the pool.
Clean, new, comfortable and quiet. Liked it all.
very clean rooms, relaxing;quiet;friendly personal, fresh fruits in the room;nice location but far from the beach
Relatively quiet hotel away from the hustle and bustle of it all. restaurant on site. parking is near room. hotel was out of towels for pool area. had to wait 30 minutes for them to go and pick some laundered ones up. hotel is really outdated....wallpaper was peeling and ripped in the bathrooms...dingy green carpet was not appealing, nor was the dark old furniture. receptionist took a phone call as she saw me walking to counter to check in and i was left standing for well over 5 minutes. then, she wasn't apologetic at all and a bit cold.
nice kitchen quite rooms no jacuzzi
It was a very clean hotel with an amazingly friendly and helpful staff.
Room have no insolution at all, can't sleep till 2am due to next door's noise.
The hotel felt old and worn out. The Wi-Fi didn't work consistently. The tub didn't drain and even a short shower resulted in standing in ankle deep water.
We had such a great time and were extremely pleased with the West Beach Inn! Everything about the hotel was perfect.....the staff, the room, the grounds and the pool were exceptional!
Bed was comfortable The walls are so thin that you hear conversations next door and people walking and even moving in their bed above you. If you stay here, at least insist on an upper level room.
the staff was great, we were greeted with wine, we had to change rooms and they were very accommodating. there were little gnats or fruitflies in our rooms (we changed rooms and the fruitflies were there too)- the bathrooms could've been cleaner- the tub had hair in it and could use a little bleach in the corners
The service and property are the best we've seen in southern California we really enjoyed our stay and it's such beautiful scenery that you must stay at this hotel the food was delicious and they even have a car to take you where ever you want to go so you don't have to worry about driving after an all day wine tasting. The concierge will set up tours for you and give you advice on which placeset to visit while you are there a 5 star hotel hands down
Great location, it is right at the very central of downtown area. Close to all the good eating locations. the room is clean. Staff is very friendly. THE ELEVATOR!!!! OMG!!!!
Historic hotel. Great location! Friendly staff A bit noise at night from the surrounding bars but not too bad. Rooms are a bit small Only one slow antique elevator.
The breakfast and nice size rooms. I like the parking valet system too. The wifi does not work, so it's frustrating.
location Room smelled like smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. We called the front desk and were offered another room however.
The bed was so comfy and I like noon check out:) The room was a little small
Location right on State Street where all of the great shops and restaurants are was great. Valet guys were pretty nice. Room smelled slightly smoky even though it was a non smoking room. Our room was close to the ancient elevator from 1926 and it sounded like our hotel room was in a subway station which was a bummer when we wanted to sleep in. A bunch of sketchy characters hang out right outside the front door of the hotel on State Street at night. Wasn't aware that parking was $10 until we arrived at the hotel.
Conveniently located on State street. Short walk to downtown, and across the street from Cantwells deli/market. Recently remodeled, so everything is new and clean. Towels were nice and plush. My room was small, but that was fine. Decent free breakfast in the morning, and the coffee wasn't bad. A tad bit noisy if your room borders the street. But traffic dies down at night, so it didn't keep me awake. Wifi speeds/latency weren't great.
I liked the convenience to major restaurants and shopping. It was not too far from the beach. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I can't think of anything that I didn't like.
the ping pong table was great! and the heated pool was nice since it got chilly at night. also, the older man at the front desk was very nice. everything else. for example: bad lighting, hard sheets; poor TV service; bent screen on window which meant we couldn't get any air circulation in the room without letting mosquitoes in, which meant we had to endure the very loud A/C when we wanted air circulation; water from the bathroom sink smelled strongly of sulfur; lots of fruit flies/gnats in the room, and some spiders, too.... you get the point.
Nichts!
This hotel was in a great location, but it is very old. My room was on the first floor and the room was very small. But, it is within walking distance of downtown so if you don't plan on spending a lot of time in the room, it's a good spot.
Everything was great, except the upstairs neighbors! It sounded like there was a gymnastics tournement going on above us, at 6 AM no less! That would be my only complaint, maybe they need to work on soundproofing between floors.
I wanted a romantic place to enjoy our 3rd wedding anniversary, and this was PERFECT! The hotel is obviously historic. I have stayed at newer hotels and the walls were paper thin. This old gem is solid brick and that adds to its charm. The parking lot is a little small, but they offer complimentary valet servide so it was never an issue (nice touch!). Also, I could tell that they spend a lot of money on their complimentary breakfast. Most hotels offer a continental breakfast, but here they add hard boiled eggs, omlets and yogurt along with fresh fruit for those who want to stay away from the carbs.\n\nMy wife and I felt appreciated and pampered by the front desk staff. Even the housekeeping staff was friendly and courteous. If I must spend a little more to stay in Santa Barbara, this hotel is the one that I would want next time!
My family of four shared a 2-bedroom room, with a roll-away bed. It was a reasonably economical stay. The hotel is nice and clean. Very good free breakfast. Best of all, is the location. State Street is a half-block walk away. Up and down there is a huge variety of restaurants and shops. In warm weather, sidewalk cafe seating is common. It's also a short 6-block walk to the beach. For most activities, we left the car parked and walked. Not common in Southern California. The roll-away is best suited to young kids. My teenagers could feel the springsbut it cut down on the fights over who was hogging the covers.
The hotel is conveniently located at the end of State St with an easy walk to most shops and restaurants. There is ample parking for guests and the front desk employees were extremely helpful. Breakfast was mediocre but one can't complain when it is complimentary. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Although the walls were a little thin. For the price and location I would without a doubt, recommend to fellow travelers.
Just 1/2 block from State street the downtown restaurant district starts right next door. Small clean rooms, good parking and a friendly staff. Comfortable pillow top beds.In the end it's all about the location. Keith
The room fit the Spanish feel of the town, comfortable and roomy. I had a nice stay.
WE had a wedding in Montecito and came down from San Franisco. This is right next to State Street and all of the great shops- it was a bit expensive for the type of room, but staff is courteous and room was clean- just what we needed. Would stay again. Also they have a good neighbor policy to snure you have a quiet experience!
In planning girls weekend in Santa Barbara, I was trying to find a hotel that was on the more inexpensive side, centrally located to all the action on State Street, yet comfortable for four women with all our bags. This place was perfect! The price was totally reasonable and the room was clean and spaceous. We had an amazing weekend and will definitely stay here again next time we visit. :)
The hotel is located in a great location for tourism in Santa Barbara. Beautiful area and great weather. Room was decently furnished and comfortable bedding. Just don't leave anything in the room of value! I'm not talking just jewelry or laptops but expensive toiletries and skin care products. My wife accompanied me on this trip and on two different occasions her skin care products were pilfered and stolen. Not just a portion of the product but every drop removed from the container and empty bottle left behind. Of course their hotel policy states they accept no responsibility for loss if item not secured in safe deposit box at front desk. But come on make up and lotion in the SAFE! ?? Stay at ypour own risk!!
Went to a family wedding in Santa Barbara. Three couples stayed here. Two couples had rooms in front. One in back. The ones in back had an ok nights sleep. Didn't hear too much noise. But us in front - well let me start with someone on a skateboard outside on the sidewalk at 3 a.m.,(we were on the second floor), people walking in the hallway at 4 a.m. and hearing their entire conversation. . Toilets flushing at all hours. Garbage being picked up at 5 a.m. A train whistle early in the a.m. The topper being at 8 a.m. when we all checked out the 'Continental Breakfast' - very poor. I went to the front desk and asked the clerk if there were any vineyards he could reccomend and he responded 'I don't drink'. What does that have to do with anything! I didn't ask him to go for a drink with me! Again I asked him 'Are there any wineries or vineyards in the area we could visit before going back to LA - again he responded 'I don't drink'. Let me tell you that was the topper for that...
We asked for a quiet room and were happy with it. The staff was very\nknowledgeable and helpful. The breakfast was fine--and the woman who\nprepared it baked homemade cookies for everyone!\n\nIt's an old historic building with some flaws, but the furnishings are lovely.
It's the Four Seasons, what else needs to be said? Every detail is cared for and it was just a great relaxing experience. The Staff was more than accommodating and went out of their way to take car of our every need. We loved our stay and we will be back since this is now our new favorite place to stay. Although we had a beautiful pool side room, we never where unable to secure four lounge chairs together for our family. We had to pay $200 extra a day to go across the street to the Coral Casino and enjoy that pool. Although we loved it at the Coral Casino Pool, their should be some consideration made for those who can not secure lounging at the main pool next to their room to be allowed to use the Coral Casino pool without this additional cost. Especially if seating is unavailable as it was for us by the hotel main pool.
Location, the room No Wi-fi, no shower cap, and the fees for every little thing (like parking, food) were very high.
Tennis courts and overall ambiance Room I initially got smelled really bad and we had to get switched. Unacceptable for the price we paid
The gardens are spectacular and walking to and from room was pleasant stroll. Room was silent sanctuary as was the private patio. Other hotels could learn a great deal by experiences all the small details of simplicity. Nothing fancy, just classic. Delightful place. Every employee seemed proud of their work and part of a team. That is rare.
Continental breakfast! Pool and Jacuzzi =) They did not have rooms ready. Waited 2 hours for our room to be ready! Frustrating!
Purchased this room on Hotwire to find it was $30 cheaper if I had called the hotel directly. Handicapped accommodations so that there was very little shelf space in the bathroom. Towel racks were grab bars next to the toilet. No place to sit except desk or bed. Used q-tips on floor. Second time that we stayed there but very disappointed this visit. Brunch was so crowded that you couldn't sit down and the staff couldn't keep things stocked.
Hotel was good...clean, comfortable, convenient, but it was the staff that inspired me to give the excellent rating. They were the best I've ever encountered at a hotel. Gave good suggestions for dining and just very friendly and helpful with any request.
Love the location - near Vons, In-N-Out ,and close to the freeway. The pool and spa are great and the grounds are very relaxing. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfy. This was the second time i stayed here. I really dislike the A/C in the rooms. they do not work right. It shuts off when it wants and goes on periodically. This NEEDS to be updated soon. I would definitely choose a room downstairs and facing the pond and pool.
The room was clean and comfortable. It was stocked appropriately. The room was quiet even though it was close to freeway. The breakfast was very bad. The eggs was over cooked, coffee was terrible, waffle taste like cardboard. The seating area was too small.
the beds were comfortable Their key system broke down and we were unable to get into our room for over an hour. Concerning and a inconvenience to end the night after a wedding.
The staff provided good customer service. Throughout the facility, it was evident that the facility is in desperate need of a major remodel. There was a constant musky smell in the facility. Fixtures were outdated.
The room was decent and clean for the most part. There was a crunched up sock in the curtain, which was weird but we didn't mind it. Overall, the property was quiet, and we had a good night's sleep. Honestly, we spent very minimal time at the hotel itself.
