This is a smashing hotel. In beautiful setting away from the madding crowds (and traffic) this is a peaceful and relaxing hotel. Well maintained and up to date the staff are very attentive. The hotel is good for walking and getting away from it all but the bright lights of Birmingham are only a short drive away. Well recommended.
The evening meal was a bit of an issue. I need to stay of dairy products and the only starter alternative they could offer was a salad. The portions are on the small size and the prices are not!! However, I would go recommend this hotel - make your own mind up about the restaurant!!
the food was excellent, the room well appointed and the staff courteous and helpful.
From the moment of arrival to the moment of departure, the staff attention was excellent and the manner respectful, helpful and polite. The attention to room cleanliness was exceptional. It was peaceful and quiet at all times and free of any noisy children. The standard of the food and its presentation was second to none
A very minor point. Given it was Summer, I gues it would have been good to see the croquet pitch free of small debris and thus more tempting to try.
The staff was excellent. We enjoyed a very, very nice dinner in the restaurant. Each plate was a little painting!
Excellent standards in the rooms and en-suites. Staff gave a very warm welcome, and felt that every effort would be made to meet our needs.
No bad points
Very large beautiful room and super bathroom with jaccusi. The view was the best.
Some of the complimentary fruit was past eatable and wasn't restocked. The bedspread had a noticable stain on the underside. The roomservice cheese plate was a huge dissapointment.
Parking convenient. Check in at reception smooth. The room was spacious, warm and clean. Bathroom clean/hot water/adequate number of good size towels/robes.
Became quite hot overnight-couldn't see how to turn down radiators and windows hard to open.
The decor and ambience oozed class. The room was first class.
Happy and friendly atmosphere and most attentive staff. Excellent dining room and very good food.
I feel sorry for smokers who have to stand by the entrance to smoke. a facility as big as this should be able to find a more suitable area.
Beautiful Setting, lovely views, pleasant village within walking distance. The room was large incorporating a sofa, had excellent magazine choice, good tea & coffee facilities & high-quality bath robes.
We were on the ground floor. The rooms above are incredibly noisy due to the constant creaking floors when people are walking about & this disturbed us greatly. I forgot my hair-washing products but the bathroom supplies only had shampoo, soap & shower gel, no conditioner.
