the sento on the top floor was excellent, but had strange hours not really fair to women.....
Everything was excellent until we had the breakfast buffet. Everything was cold and VERY low quality in taste and quality. We were shocked considering how nice the hotel was other than that. Whoever their chef is needs to go to cooking school. Food should not be all cold and lacking standard flavor. It wasn't even on the same basic level as Saizeriya, which is also pretty bad. For a 3 star hotel, the buffet should be much better than that. We are not usually picky, but we've have much better food at 2 star hotels and even below. Food can still be delicious at room temperature and below, but the taste of everything was extremely poor I'm sorry to say. In addition, our room smelled terribly of body odor. They must disinfect the rooms better and get rid of the bad human odor. It was not pleasant. The unbelievable noise at the America Land next door was horrible. Gangsters are racing and making loud noise until the middle of the night.
Hotel is quite a fair way from the station, so booking a shuttle with the hotel is a must for transporting luggage. Other than moving our luggage to and from the station when we arrived and departed, we walked everywhere. It's a small and quiet town in general, but this part of town is exceptionally quiet though there are some family restaurants around. There are also free bike rentals but we didn't use them as it rained the whole time. Staff were friendly and the coin laundry was very helpful.
The bottom floors are smoking rooms and the top floors are non-smoking rooms, and the elevator smelled terribly of cigarettes. We didn't use the onsen baths but it seems there's only one and there's a schedule of when females can use it and when males can use it (females are restricted to only a few days which is quite unfair!). The hotel and rooms are looking a bit old, and the room was surprisingly small considering it wasn't in an urban town or central location.
Free shuttle to the train station was great. Front desk was very helpful with directions for meals and traveling. Good English support.
The address was incorrect from Booking.com on GPS. We spent over an hour trying to find the correct address.
Free shuttle service to Kitakami station. Staff were very kind and the onsen facility was super.
Just for your information: Only one Onsen. At weekdays no Onsen for ladies. :(
Staff are pleasant and accommodating.Foods are healthy and delicious. The location is very good because it is near in the city center. Free shuttle is a plus and the free bicyle was just so amazing because it allows the visitors to roam around the city. I just love motein hotel.
Mr. waiter in the food area was so pitiful. His sweat was running down in his face while serving the foods but that's not the problem anyway. I'm so amazed how hard working he is and it broke my heart that he was alone serving in that very busy environment. I gues the hotel should and probly would add some staff to accompany him in serving the customers I mean helping him in refilling the foods rather.
