Colina da Lapa January -...

The area is close to several small villages and some of the best walkways and beaches, but still far away enough to not hear any party noice.

Ve had some bad luck with the weather, coldest in 15 years we where told, so it took almost 3 days for the apartment to get comfortably warm. But we had a fire place too so we could make it cosy after we found out where to buy firewood. Staff was very kind and helpful. So we are happy in spite of the weather. 😊

Nice place for simple family...

The place was big. The staff super friendly. Its near good beach spots and restaurants. The house is taken care of everyday and the beds are super comfortable. Swimming pool and barbecue are nice.

Some closets and storage area inside the house weren't clean (had lot's of dust on them), though the beds were super clean and made every day.

Very good value for money

for only £25 for the night, it is a very good value for money, considering that I booked the place at a very last minute.

the apartment was pretty old stylish, facilities were pretty old, the wifi did not work at all and then when I complained to staff, I was told they would look into it but it did not improve at all. Given that I had a flight the next day, having internet would have been ideal for checking in and more.

amazing christmas holiday

Everything about the house was great, the location was a little far from the airport but it was very close to the local shops. The staff are amazing, they are really helpful and make you feel welcome and always ready to help.

Some of the facilities were a little old, the kitchen utensils especially, the cooker was of an old version and took very long to cook. the wifi is also slow at times.

They really need to update their crockery cutlery and glassware . There wasn’t a pot large enough to boil spaghetti which is quite basic now in most kitchens . Towels need to be replenished too as the ones appear old . We felt upon arrival it would have been a nice gesture to put a bottle of cold water in the fridge until guests do a shop. I think a 2 pm check in and an 11 am check out is un fair especially for early arrivals, although in fairness they let us in around 12.40. The showers at the poolside were absolutely filthy dirty and it seems no care was given to the upkeep of the pool. There were a lot of people including kids swimming but unable to shower. The pool is very big yet has only one set of steps .

It was peaceful and relaxing.

It was a well-equipped self-catering apartment in attractive villas, with parking onsite. I loved the big bathroom and the view from the terrace. The air-conditioning worked well. I loved the pool and pool area. The café served decent snack lunches.

The sofa bed was quite narrow and not that comfortable.

Standard apartment needs renovation

The lady at the front desk was very friendly.

The apartment is very outdated and really needs renovation. It is super basic and dark. There was a strange smell in the room and the bed was not comfy: the mattress had a plastic cover which produced a crackling sound when shifting to the other side. The bathroom looked like a public toilet and had an old shower curtain and no power plugs. No hair dryer either (also not available when asking at reception). The lounge beds by the pool were old, some of them were broken. Last but not least: the WiFi only worked 2% of the time.

A Fabulous Stay! Prefect for...

What a Fabulous Stay! The Vila is super spacious, with a great size swimming pool, great barbecue and outdoor facilities! It is inside a complex, but with plenty of room between the Vilas, so lots of privacy! Amazing Staff, and very nice and friendly Manager, always making sure that we as Guests were having the best possible service. We will definitely come back!

Not good for families with...

We liked how the buildings looked at the resort, the swimming pool was good and never overcrowded. The territory looked nice.

We didn’t like that there are a lot of stairs everywhere - not convenient with little children and when unloading the stuff from the car to the room; we didn’t like the quality of cleaning at all - was one of the worst in our experience, especially considering this resort claims to have 4* - one day the cleaning ladies haven’t brought us new towels saying they didn’t get it from the laundry and that they would bring them next day( when I called the reception (because it was the day when we really hoped to get the new towels and needed them), the receptionist told us this was not possible and promised to call the cleaning ladies and sort this out. After which no one ever brought is the towels not even called us back. 😊 the day before our departure there was no cleaning at all. I think the hotel should return us some money for non-provided services that were supposed to be done and that we paid for. Another thing was that the kitchen was very poorly equipped - like 4 pieces of each type of plate or utensils was not enough for 5 people (we were three adults with two small kids). And the walls were not soundproof at all - we could hear it so loud in our bedroom when our neighbors used the bathroom or spoke in their room, as well as heard all movements of our neighbors from above. Minor things: the playground is really strange - there is one, but hardly usable by the small kids and is on the sun all the time - there is no shadow. There are no anti-mosquito nets on the windows, so there were a lot of flies bothering us in the kitchen, and mosquitos bit the kids at night. Considering all this, I don’t think this place is suitable for the kids. Oh, and very poor to almost no wi-fi! I had to use my 4G all the time!! Another reason to return us some money - that’s not a 4* level of service. Sorry.

The rooms are a great size, well equipped kitchen, great maid service lovely friendly staff. We had comfy beds great wardrobe and drawer space. Lounge dining area is a great size. Back to the kitchen it's the best equipped we have ever had.

The rooms are very noisy if you have anyone above or at the side of you.The walls are very thin you think you are in the same room as them. This is the only reason we will not go back. Ask for an end terrace room so you won't be disturbed on all sides.The settee is uncomfortable.

We did not get breakfast with our room.

The place is a little tired. The phone never worked the whole time we were there, even though we asked them to fix it. The door to the patio off the kitchen had to be fixed to get it to close and lock properly. They provide the bare minimum of dishes, pots and pans and utensils, but don't provide dish soap or a cloth to wash them with. There were two soap dispensers in the bathroom that were really like what you find in a public washroom. No other toiletries were provided. There was a washing machine that we liked very much after we were told the trick on how to use it from the management. There were two air conditioners - one in the living room and one in the bedroom, but only one remote to operate both of them and we had to ask for an extra plug for the kitchen which only had one outlet. They do not provide towels to use at the pool or to take to the beach. The shuttle drops you off in town twice a day in the morning at 10:00 or 11:00 and picks you up once - at 4:00 p.m. We also had a bit of an ant problem in the bathroom and the kitchen.

The location is excellent & the private apartments, of which we had 2, are superb. We asked to move to one with a view & that changed the whole experience. Stunning views from the apartments at the back. Then to our pleasant surprise the restaurant food is superb. Just to clarify we stayed in May & the prices were outstanding for that time.

We came for lunch on a Sunday & the restaurant couldn’t accommodate us as they had a huge booking coming, presumably for golf. We had just returned from a car journey & had to go back out again. We had a small child which didn’t help.

Rooms were Ok, plain design but plenty of space. Outdoor space is plenty. Kids have small play area nearby pool. Location is great about 15min drive you have heart of Algarve region (& Zoomania, splash, Portimao, etc etc)

Staff was ok.. being guest missed hospitality. Biggest turn off was breakfast. Everyday same small assortment despite of charging 8€/PP. It's so boating to have it twice. Beans, egg etc was kept cold.

Large, well equipped apartment at a great price. Whenever we had questions, the staff was always ready to help. While not on the ocean, it was only minutes away, and it was relatively easy (with a GPS equipped car) to find our way throughout the town and all of the Algarve.

The resort is beautifully located in the hills between Carvoeiro and Ferragudo. The pretty yellow or terracotta coloured buildings are embedded in lovely gardens. Our apartment was a huge one-bedroom ground floor unit with sliding doors from the living room out onto a patio facing the gardens. It was furnished with sturdy solid-wood furniture and had a full, well-equipped kitchen. The beds were very comfortable. The best part about this resort though was the EXCELLENT RESTAURANT. The included breakfast buffet offered a lot of variety, and warm breakfast items (eggs any style sausages, etc) were made to order. We also had dinner at the resort twice. The first time, we were so impressed with the outstanding quality of the food that we decided to eat in a second time. The service was impeccable, too, and everybody was super friendly!

The lighting... this is a recurring theme in most places we stayed at during this and other trips, and not only in Europe. With incandescent light bulbs being replaced by CFL or LED lights, a lot of places now have very cold harsh lighting. It's a shame, especially since the new bulbs are available with warmer light temperatures as well. Warm lighting makes a room so much more inviting, comfortable and cozy!

The spare bedshit was not proper for use, it was stinking. And it was really cold without it. The toilette paper and tissues had definitely not the quality we expect from a hotel/ resort. The airconditioning in the toilette was loud and we could not turn it off -or even shut it down from power plug.

This was a last minute booking as we were staying out for a Wedding and decided to extend the trip for an extra night. The villas were lovely and spacious, the reception staff were very helpful and the restaurant really took us by surprise, both lunch and evening dishes we had were lovely and service was excellent.

Personally I found the beds a little uncomfortable, though my other half had no issues. The shower/bathtub looked like it could have done with a refresh.

The villa was clean, spacious, light and airy. Majority of staff were excellent and happy to help out when asked - a couple of the bar staff had a bit of an attitude which let the rest of the staff on site down. Gardens and surrounding areas were well looked after. A suggestion to help improve on comfort/relaxation would be better quality patio furniture and furniture on the balconies.

It was very relaxing and quiet (particularily at night time), villas were very clean and spacious, with good distance between each, adding a sense of privacy.

We noticed that some guests allowed their children to use the kiddies pool without any clothes on, this happened on more than one occasion. At one point, one of these children started pee'ing in the kiddies pool, I thought the bar staff should have asked the parents to put swimming shorts/diapers on the children, but this never happened.

Everything was very good except for the cleaning of the room.

The toilet was cleaned with dirty water. The horrible smell was throughout the entire floor.
