Der Flug von FRA nach TXL war dann über eine Stunde verspätet, aber gottseidank war der Hydraulikschaden, der die Maschine einsatzunfähig machte, vor dem Abflug beim Check entdeckt worden, nicht auszudenken, wenn das nicht gecheckt worden wäre. Danach ging es auch zügig und überschaubar weiter."

Beim Flug von SFO nach FRA hat die Stewardess sich das sogar mit Kugelschreiber auf der Hand mit meinem Sitzplatz notiert, aber es hatte leider keine Auswirkungen. Ich würde mich also über Textskripte bei Ansagen auf dem Monitor sehr freuen, ebenso über deutsche Untertitel bei den Filmen. In den Überseemaschinen ist die Übertragung der Ansagen meistens klanglich ok - in den Inlandflügen, so wie von FRA nach TXL war die Lautsprecheransage so verzerrt, dass ich nichts verstanden habe. Wenn dabei wichtige Informationen gewesen wären, hätte ich leider Pech gehabt. Das ist sehr behindertenunfreundlich."

Negativ: "In this particular flight there was a male airline attendant who was fabulous and who could speak many languages, including German. I noticed the other airline attendants seemed to be giving him a really hard time and weren't friendly at all. In fact, I rang a bell to ask for attendant help at one point and no one came to help. I was just a seat back from the area where the helpful airline attendant was available. I think that overall TAP flight staff could be a bit more open to being friendly. However, on the ground in Lisbon I've found the staff to be amazingly helpful."

Glad the international flight was more comfortable. Somehow we did not get the memo that there was a 0 baggage allowance for an international flight. Most give 1 or two bags free. So when we had to pay 80 euros for each bag it started off our trip with TAP a lot disappointed. We still have to fly back and we can go online and pay before hand and get it for 45 euros each. Increased out ticket prices by 205 euros. Will make me take a second thought before I book with TAP again."

Boarding began 20 min late and then we had to stand on the boarding ramp for another 20 min while the crew finished "cleaning" the aircraft."

While this was happening, I had to stand around, moving from free place to free place as others boarded. TAP also does not offer vegetarian meals. You have to special request it, unlike most other carriers. This is stated nowhere in the booking process. Even the salad had meat."

The legroom for an international flight was terrible, almost the same as Spirit Airlines in their economy class. The food was very bad (dried beef with noodle) and cold by the time I was served."

Positiv: "A stewardess named Rita warmly engaged me; when I told her I'm interested in becoming a flight attendant after college, she took the time (that she could have napped) to explain all the perks and downsides of the job, and patiently answered all my questions. I told her I'll be a day camp counselor in Istanbul for young children, she gave me extra kids toy packets from the plane for them. She wrote me a personalized itinerary to check out in Lisbon covering my nerdy and Jewish interests, and extra snacks. She made my flight a fabulous one! Also, great entertainment choices and I love the red blanket!"
Negativ: "The crew was an hour late, so we left later and landed later than planned. Additionally, we weren't informed that our suitcases go to final destination. We had to wait over an hour for them to be brought to us in Lisbon. We had plans in Lisbon for Friday morning and they were all ruined. It would be helpful if Kayak or TAP Portugal informed customers where their luggage will be when we make plans to stay in Lisbon for a weekend. The USB outlet didn't work. I wasn't particularly impressed with the food, but I was in Economy so my expectations weren't high. I was disappointed there were no kosher or vegetarian/vegan options. Apparently I have to order 48 hours ahead... but this time I booked my flight less than two days before."
