Price Not on main drag but close enough
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our 2 year old loved the pool and hot tub. We thought that the breakfast would be better (eggs, waffles, etc) but they just had pastries, cereal and weird flavors of oatmeal. There weren't any table to eat at either so we had to sit on couches and chairs while our 2 yr old stood at the coffee table and made a mess of the floor (sorry about that).
We did not hear any noise from either side of our room. That made our stay more private which gave it a much nicer feel. We have just two small complaints. (Will not keep us from staying here again.) One, the cleanliness could have been a little bit better in the bathroom as it looked like it had not been swepped. Two, when taking a shower, the water fluctuated from cold to almost scolding hot with no notice.
Super clean & excellent job on keeping room tidy. Shower pressure, temp, and drainage all perfect. Great location, just blocks from Main St and HEB. Really good Mexican restaurant right across the street which happens to also have a full bar. Room has flat screen TV with cable. Fridge and coffee maker were both in good working order. Didn't have to use micro or hairdyer. AC was nice n chill. Comfy bed better than the one at home. Overall everything exceeded our expectations and we're already plan a trip back. This is where we will stay again because we love love LOVE IT! Can't really come up with a complaint other than the pool and hot tub could've been a little cleaner but given that we stayed towards the end of summer it's quite understandable
The staff was very friendly, helpful. We asked for a rollaway twin bed for our daughter and they brought it immediately. Breakfast had great German pastries. Clean, great value, Texan owned and operated. None. Great Hotel!
Second time staying here and everything still on point. Rooms very clean. Comfy bed. All appliances in excellent working order. The facial cleansing towels are a nice touch. The owners are remarkably sweet people. We checked in on Thanks Giving and they had a complimentary lil dinner for the guests. There's also a complimentary breakfast featuring local baked goods, coffee, tea & orange juice. All in all a great experience. It's the best bang for your buck, and a super convenient location. We love this place and will never stay anywhere else :) Not a thing
Really like the price and the retro look and feel of the place. The owners live on site and are very helpful. The only thing that gave me any trouble were the electronics. Twice my key card would not open the door, the remote had a hard time turning the TV on and I picked up a malware program on the wifi. Other than that all was great
It was clean and easy to find. Since it was Fredericksburg, the price was good. Breakfast was available and like many hotel breakfasts. Staff was friendly. It fulfilled our requirements nicely. I had to look to find outlets to charge phones, etc. but it was hidden by the desk chair. There was no clock in the room so an available outlet near the nightstand would have been helpful so we could charge phones and look at them for the time.
The staff were very kind and professionals and not stuffy and terse like so many other places. Elevator wait time was a bit long sometimes.
The facility was clean, and well tended. Staff was great! If you call a hot breakfast hard microwave biscuits and crock pot instant gravy, you don't know breakfast! the breakfast was mediocre at best, coffee was terrible!
Love that La Quinta is pet friendly and we can travel with the entire family!
We travel with a small dog. Can rely on La Quinta to welcome and accommodate the entire family. There were several other families with dogs of all sizes. We were all welcome. Loved it.
Hotel had everything needed for a quiet mini-vacation. Very clean, quiet, nice amenities including a washer/dryer & workout area, and a great breakfast area with many options for every family member. Close to Main Street shopping. Walking distance to Walmart for items needed/forgotten. Will definitely stay again! Initial reception could be friendlier. But overall wouldn't change a thing!
That I had a place to sleep that night Room didn't seem to be very clean. Maintenance issues: ice maker broken, outside door from packing lot didn't work, a pile of wood with nails took up multiple spots in the the parking lot. The room was not maintained correctly: wallpaper issues, the bed needs to be replaced, in general everything seemed run down and cheap. Possible PCI/DSS issue - They scanned my Credit Card as an image on the computer. I'm calling AMEX today to report this issue.
No refridgerator or microwave, commode seat was falling off. Breakfast was not acceptable.
Clean rooms Nice rooms Could use a bigger tv
Good location but that's about it. Very plain room. Bathroom door was broken.
We've stayed here several times and it's a great location, free breakfast and the staff is very friendly. The rooms we have stayed in (low 2s and 3s) are all very large and comfortable. Make sure you stay on the top (3rd) floor in the back. The floors are less than soundproof and if you're on 1 or 2, you will hear the folks above you. The front rooms have balconies, but overlook the street and tend to be noisier. The only elevator is pretty slow so if this is critical for you, it might not be the best spot.
The shower curtain was mounted such that any water that hits the curtain ends up on the floor. We had to mop up a lot of water, using most of the towels, after every shower. There was only one small trash can under the wet bar and none in the bathroom. One table lamp had a bad fluorescent bulb in it. The TV remote control's battery compartment hatch was broken, such that the batteries had to be manually held in place to use it. Why should a guest have to repeatedly call the front desk to report things that are broken or missing from the room? Why isn't all of that tended to prior to the guest's arrival? And lastly, they're using those cheap, daylight colored complact fluorescent bulbs in every lamp throughout the entire room and in the ceiling fixtures. I don't have a problem with CFLs as long as their color temperature is warm. I felt like I was sleeping at a bus stop.
Simple, clean motel within walking distance of all the shops.
I really liked the price and the front desk clerk was very friendly. There was hair in the shower and the bathroom was just not clean overall.
Location Bed was uncomfortable, bathtub was old and grungy, towels were worn and needed replacing, dead fly on the nightstand, lighting was poor, not enough food selections on the continental breakfast, cost was way too expensive for the poor quality of the facility, the air conditioning unit cycled on and off all night and interrupted our sleep
Rooms need a deep cleaning. Odd stains in bathtub and bathroom floor. Baseboards very dusty. Really in need of a thorough cleaning and updates. If another hotel was available I would have left.
Nothing just a roof over ur head. Mold in the bathroom, carpet torn and nasty, walls filthy with yellow stuff, coffee maker moldy, hairs in the towels, staff extremely rude and difficult to deal with about the issues!
Staff friendly, walking distance to downtown, cost effective. Mattress horrible, bathroom had hair in shower and on floor, keys didn't work second day so staff had to let you in rm each time you left.
I liked the pool. It was super clean. The room was clean and non-smoking really smelled non-smoking. Nothing creepy, nothing freaky, everyone was nice. I didn't like that the bed springs were shot, and light bulbs were out.
Room smelled bad, beds were stained and caved in. Room was really humid and carpet felt damp and sticky. Lots of residue on showerhead. Not worth the price paid. And no hot tub as the description states.
The location was great and it was easy to walk to the city center. The room had everything you'd need for a small price. The staff was friendly. The room wasn't ready at 2pm and it had a funny smell...
The bed that we had in our king room was easily the worst one I have ever slept on. Even my husband, who can sleep in a tank (literally) was uncomfortable. All we could feel was the mattress cover under the thin sheet and it stuck to us all night. Doesn't matter how nice a hotel...... if you can't sleep good, it ruins the entire stay.
Clean and great location. The noise was awful. Sounded like the people upstairs would fall through at any min. Unable to sleep.
Courteous staff and meal
When we arrived at check-in employees were arguing with one another. Early that next morning (3 a.m.), our neighboring room began to party loudly. I asked them to tone it done and called the front desk. The front desk did not aggressively act.

- room seemed clean - A/C was very cold - vending was reasonable - toilet flushed very well - a lot of TV channels (Dish?) - price was high but all the hotels are a bit high in Fredericksburg - only one entrance/exit to the parking lot - small parking lot - no bell at front desk to notify hospitality attendant - thin walls/doors; could hear the next room over and the hall noise - vending machine wasn't fully, or even mostly, stocked - staff was compliant but not very friendly - bed was okay but not the most comfortable - maybe not a negative but kinda weird that there were no enclosed drawers in the room
TV did not get orogramming. Atmosphere was noisy
Good welcoming A little bit of noise Coming from the street
We were very impressed with our suite. The kitchen was fully stocked. The bed was extremely comfortable! There is a sense of privacy and seclusion that we enjoyed. It was so much more pleasant than a regular motel experience. The surroundings were peaceful and beautiful. We sipped cups of coffee on our front porch while enjoying nature. We were disappointed that the fireplace in our room was out of order, but we didn't really need it. It would be nice if the bedroom windows had curtains. They have very nice blinds, but there is quite a bit of street light they pours in through the closed blinds at night.
Staff was friendly and informative, great restaraunt next day for breakfast

Cheap, easy to get to, proximity to town. Also, everything else in town is a 2 night minimum, but here we could do one night. The carpet felt a little sticky, I didn't want to have bare feet in the room. Everything else was clean though! Just outdated and plain I guess, not a big deal! Just needed a clean place to crash.
The hotel was built in the 60s and has been well-kept......and the price! Wifi signal weak, but what the heck, that's not what I was there for.
It was a very nice place to stay. Recommend highly. Nothing

The hotel was very clean, and for the price, it was great!
Awesome staff very friendly and helpful, definitely better than I expected it to be...will be my place of choice to stay whenever I'm in Fredricksburg Nothing
The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating.
It was very nice and the location was very close to where we was going. Everything was good.
Quite area but still close to all that you need ! Not a thing !
The staff was very friendly and eager to assist. For the dollars spent, it was very comfortable and quiet. We were pleased and surprised to find a fridge and microwave. We'll most likely be back. The Wi-Fi connection to our room was terrible. But then again, we weren't there to log onto Facebook, we were there to relax and get away from everything. It would have been nice to have had extra pillows. I guess I could have asked.
Great spot on Main Street Fredericksbug. Walk to darn near everything. Staff was great, asked for quiet room on ground floor and got one - 111 - and parked right in front of room. Older hotel (I stayed in it about 35 years ago) but adequately updated and comfortable beds. Hospitality coffee is good but breakfast is best found elsewhere. Forgot to ask that they not put 4 kids in the room directly above. Coffee maker didn't work and spewed hot water all over.
Big rooms. Convenient location. Air conditioner did not work in June in Texas. Bad news!!! Never got cooler than 77 with thermostat set at 65. After trying to sleep in a warm stuffy room, they turned off the water in the morning for 30 minutes for some repair. I think the motel has outlived its facilities. Summer in Texas is way too hot to do without air conditioning. When I notified the front desk , they told me "just wait, it will get cooler". It didn't. Very disappointed.
Remodeled very nice. Downtown. Walk to shopping. Very clean. Nice staff Little pricey. But not bad for the location.
Heated pool Fantastic location continental breakfast very quite Housekeeping - dirty band aid in bathroom! Liquid meds found in frig, glad our son didn't find it!
The mattress Size of the rooms, no phone, no "built-in" closets - NONE in the John Wayne room.
Front desk staff were friendly, responsible and helpful. They honored a lower quoted price and called immediately to let us know we had left something in the room.
Amazing price and all the basics. The reception folks were very nice and the location was convenient. Everything was a bit worn and tired (but so was I). I had been driving all day and I didn't need much more than a place to wash up and crash.
