This passenger continually kept encroaching into my seat, either sitting on a portion of my leg or putting his shoulder over my shoulder, even at one point used me as lean on. It was a 9 hour flight of misery... I was definitely uncomfortable for majority of that flight due to the passenger in 40A on flight NH176"

Negativ: "kayak should let you know when buying the ticket that the first portion of the flight codeshare with united express doesn't cover a second bag I called ANA they said i could bring two so I did but I was charged 100 dollars for it even though it was an international flight with ANA also united express shattered the outside of one of my checked bags so I paid 100 dollars to get a 50 dollar suitcase BROKEN UNITED won't respond to my inquiries. I am very disappointed."

Pretty much makes flying a waste of time if you are forced to look at movies you dont really want to watch because the real reason you bought the ticket is denied you without warning it will happen prior to investing in the ticket for the route. Button at seat worked for a while to sneak a peak at the real world but then the system seemed to take over and tell me to conform with the demand I not look."

And thing this was informed to the China Southern officials so that they could arrange something for me. I was amazed to see that no one was keen to understand my problem at both he airports i.e. Auckland Airport & Ganzhaou Airport. Apart from this the behavior of your officials was so rude & arrogant it made me feel as if i was a slave or some kind of culprit. Due to the ignorance & laid back attitude on your part i couldn't reach my destination on my time. Seriously it took me "24 hrs Extra" to reach my destination & as a result of which i couldn't perform the cremation. I was pissed off by the service; complete ignorance by the staff/officials of ur airlines. I wasn't expecting this kind of treatment from a reputed company like you. I request you guys to look into this matter seriously and try to take some corrective measures so that this thing won't happen in future with someone else."

Negativ: "This is a big airport for transit passengers. Even if you had a boarding pass for your connecting flight, you needed to get in line to get another one. That took an hour and a half. If you needed a transit visa because of a long layover (China Southern offers accommodation) you needed to go through a second procedure which was arbitrary and chaotic and took hours. I got my transit visa in 2 1/ 2 hours (4 hours after getting off plane). In another hour I was at the very nice hotel provided. China Southern staff had assured me I didn't need to get to the airport particularly early, but the hotel staff required I leave 3 1/2 hours before my flight. With a 15 hour layover I was able to get 3 hours sleep. I saw people who had been in the transit visa area for up to 7 hours. Nothing else about these flights mattered at that point."

Positiv: "By chance, I ran into a China Southern customer service representative and another group facing the same difficulty as me (needing a temporary visa). The China Southern representative dealt with the immigration services to expedite our temporary visa applications in China."
Negativ: "When going to the gate in Denpasar that was supposed to be where we boarded, our flight was not listed. (Although it was listed on the reader board as that gate). When approaching a China Southern representative, he kind of chuckled and said I don't know, maybe this gate #. There was no announcement of gate change. It was only realized by one person telling a group and it being passed along by others who were on the flight and waiting in the waiting area. I truly do not know how that one person figured it out. It was an older plane and there was no entertainment on board. Flight was delayed. When arriving at Guangzhou, there was not any guidance on needing to receive a temporary visa since the connecting flight to San Francisco went through Wuhan. When purchasing the ticket, it was unclear that this was needed since there was going to be a connecting flight through Wuhan and it was unclear that the connecting flight went through Wuhan. The ticket made it look as if we would be flying straight from Guangzhou to San Francisco. When asking one China Southern representative about where to go for temporary Visa, she "guided" me to the China representative handling the situation. Her "guidance" was done by grabbing my wrist and yanking me to her. I believe this is cultural, but being an international airline, I would think they would be observant of other cultures. Mobile devices that can be used as a cell phone are not allowed to be on or used while on board the flight. This includes mobile phones in flight mode (China Southern explained to me that this is Chinese law), so you are forced to use their entertainment system and not be able to listen to your own music."

I will buy another ticket!!"

Negativ: "I was denied a boarding pass and was not allowed to transit through China, because of a visa that was needed I was not told about by Kayak.com. Therefore, being the last day I was allowed to stay in Thailand, I had to scramble to find an outbound flight the same day, including paying almost double the cost of the original flight. The Thai check-in agent told me to never transit through mainland China again, because the visa requirement information that is not provided."

Positiv: "I love the fact that the program that launches the flight were pretty new, but the fact is; everything run like a well oiled machine. From customer service to departure everything went smoothly. Since the flight was brand new not a lot of people knew about they're great deal. I bought a one way ticket to xiamen because I will be working a school teacher. I didn't realized til later on that it's possible for someone with a z visa to receive an extra 23kg check in baggage for free. I contacted the customer service who replied within a day and everything was fixed. Now, I've been travelling a good amount to China and US, so far the food that are good is xiamen airlines. It's healthy, not greasy, and my stomach didn't hurt."
Negativ: "For now ? Nothing. It's my first time riding this airline and I would definitely pick this than China southern or eastern airlines. I have been disappointed with them too many times.... food suck, cramped leg space, and an overabundance of delayed and cancelled flights. Need improvement: it would be nice if the flight attendant don't assume every Asian is Chinese. Over and over the flight attendants would suggest food options, snacks, and drinks in chinese. I understand this won't be the first nor would it be the last that someone would mistaken me as a native Chinese speaker. Overall, the whole experience was amazing!"

Negativ: "Show up and the flight was delayed 4 hours. No reason given. My layover in Xiamen was only 2 hours. They kept wanting me to fly the next day. When I complained loud enough they finally yielded and found an alternative to LAX."

Positiv: "Excellent, friendly service on a terrific plane. More leg room than the average (American) airline for a long flight. Had to call Customer Service. They were as helpful as they could be."
Negativ: "There was no computer check-in even for people with no bags to check. Long wait on line to check-in. Probably could use more staff at airport. TSA wait that night was also very long. Not Xiamen's fault of course."

Negativ: "Since the airline is so small, they don't schedule agents for check-in prior to a couple hours before boarding. That was a bit frustrating when we wanted to be at the gate early."

We sat on the plane for 1.5 hr waiting to depart. An announcement was finally made that there was some kind of issue with air traffic, we ended up almost 2 hrs delayed. The volume on the media device in front of me was not working. The seats were terribly uncomfortable, my butt was hurting after the first hour."

Negativ: "1) I asked for a window seat so I could see Hong Kong on the air. They put me in the row in front of the wing. No window! 2) Almost constant announcements about seatbelts and electronic devices, not loud enough to actually understand, but just loud enough be annoying. 3) Flight crew go down the aisle with the grace of drunken rugby players. On the return flight I sat on the aisle and got positively battered. I don't work for an airline but I can walk up and down the aisle without touching anyone! 4) The morning meal was a bottle of water, a bruised banana and a piece of bread with what smelled like dog food inside. Revolting. The meal on the way back was ... the same! Give me real food, a snack or nothing at all. It's only an hour flight. 5) On the return flight we sat at the gate for 40 minutes. No explanation or apology. 40 minutes late on a flight that was only an hour... 6) I had to ask for an arrival card as we descended. They could have been given out while we were sitting at the gate doing nothing for 40 minutes. 7) The only "entertainment" was about 15 minutes of commercials. My boss booked this flight for me. I will not fly with them again. They were so incompetent and overmatched, on a flight that was only an hour. I was embarrassed for them."

Calling the agency Lastminute.com that had sold the ticket was not helpful either - they stated that they had no control over the ticket in the last 24h prior to departure and were unable to provide any assistance and no information how to activate the insurance purchased prior. Very dissatisfying experience. I take over 50 flights a year - worst assistance experience ever."

Leider habe ich dadurch meinen Anschlußflug in Peking verpasst und wurde erneut umgebucht und habe dann über einen Umweg nach Zürich mein entgültiges Ziel erreicht."

Positiv: "Diesmal leider nichts!"
Negativ: "Der Service war unterstes Niveau. Angefangen vom Boarding, wo man jugendliche Traveller vor Familien mit kleinen Kindern das Fugzeug „stürmen“ ließ. So ging es leider weiter, ständige, sich wiederholende Durchsagen, viel zu warme Heizung, was mit „ Vorschrift bei Nachtflügen“ rechtfertigte."

Negativ: "After 30 hours of travelling and no problems my luggage got lost on my last flight. I still haven’t got it yet, my medication was In there and it has ruined the whole trip for me. I am so upset with service I can’t begin to explain the pain I am now suffering. I have no clothes other than what I’m wearing. I have no toothpaste or toiletries. I feel ashamed of myself as I have dirty clothes on. I am truly not satisfied with my service. I have been let down to the highest order."

Positiv: "I think the food served on the flight has improved significantly over the last few years. I've been flying Air China for the past few years and am very impressed by the progress made by Air China. I will continue to be a loyal customer of this airline. Thanks!"

Negativ: "The planes are very old and lack basic comforts. As a business class traveler, the food was really below the standards of other airlines. Also some flights did not have individual entertainment systems. Finally the business class lounge in Beijing was the worst Ive ever seen. The food was basically instant noodles and small pastries. The whole experience was disappointing."

Positiv: "I loved all of the entertainment options. The music was relevant, the movies were movies I actually wanted to see, same goes for the TV shows. Also, I really liked that you could play games on there with other passangers."
