Positiv:: I actually stayed in this hotel last year (liked it), however my contact in Guangzhou wanted me to stay in another Hotel Vienna that was closer to his workplace. This Hotel Vienna agreed to refund me the booking on request from my contact and as I requested the cancelation close to when I booked. Very honourable and trustworthy would be my comment.

Positiv:: We got upgraded to the room with river and city view. It was absolutely stunning, the view is breathtaking. Also, the design of the room is impressive in every little detail.

Negativ:: Alles war top.

Positiv:: The decorations of the check in floor. The decorations in the rooms, look good but not much details. Excellent city overlooking views.

Negativ:: The power plugs didn’t work. The location of switches are not user friendly, you cannot change the light setting easily. The combination of lights are so limited. There is only 1 USB outlet on the desk. The control penal on the desk is basically useless (outdated).

Positiv:: THe bathroom and the swimming pool

Negativ:: There are only two types of dessert in the lounge: a cheesecake and a chocolate fountain; in five days it could have bothered. Staff forgets to pour salt in the saline when they bring food to the room.

Positiv:: Excellent view of Pearl Tower and river! Great SPA, therapist Amanda is excellent! Warm and helpful staff. Lovely, comfortable and spacious room. Good foods served in Chinese restaurant. Great location, and I like to walk around the Huacheng Square.

Positiv:: Das Hotel an sich ist in Ordnung, allerdings zahlt man hier lediglich für den Namen. Besonders gut hat uns das vollelektronische WC gefallen. Das war das Highlight des Zimmers.

Negativ:: Unser Zimmer roch sehr unangenehm, feucht und modrig. Die Zimmer waren ok, allerdings bekommt man für den Preis in anderen Hotels deutlich deutlich mehr geboten.

Positiv:: Overall experience was good. Larger than normal room, clean with state of the art amenities. Staffs are very nice and actively being helpful. The Chinese restaurant lives up to its Michelin star rating.

Negativ:: There is definitely quite a bit room for improvement in terms of the tightness of daily operation. It took me 4 contacts (calls and chats) and some unpleasant exchange of words to secure a lunch reservation at the Chinese restaurant. A place like the Fours Seasons, it should have been one and done.

Negativ:: Service is zero, At the breakfast coffee was brought after half an hour and absolutely cold, boiled eggs never delivered during two days. At the restaurant drinks were delivered almost when we finished dinner; at the check out they refused to offer even an hour late check out, although half of the hotel was empty. It is not five star hotel service, moreover service that you wait from Mandarin Oriental. I will never stay at this hotel again and definitely would never recommend it.

Positiv:: Das Hotel liegt vom Flughafen ca. 45 mit dem Taxi entfernt. Man sollte hier je nach Verkehr mindestens mit RMB 170 rechnen, das Messegelände Pazhou liegt gerade mal 10 min mit dem Taxi entfernt, immer so um die RMB 30 bezahlt Um leicht ein Taxi zu bekommen, empfiehlt es sich den Hinterausgang zu benutzen, da kommt man direkt an der Shoping Mall raus mit Taxenstand und Concierge. Das Hotel ist prima gelegen an einer Hauptstrasse, selbst aber ruhig. Umgebung sind viele kleine Geschäfte, Shops, Restaurants, es lohnt sich mal um den ganen Block rumzugehen. Das Personal ist immer sehr höflich und aufmerksam (HK trained). Die Zimmer sind ausgestattet mit Kühlschrank, Wasserkocher und Nesspressomaschine. Das Badezimmer mit freistehener Wanne und mit seperater Dusche ist getrennt vom WC und Wascheinrichtung. Die Koffer finden Platz im einem extra Raum mit Gardrobe. Frühstücksbuffet (bis 10:30 und um 10:15 wurde noch, wenn was fehlte, nachgelegt) hat eine tolle Auswahl diverser Küchen, also von klassischen westlichen Produkten über zum Beospiel südkoreanischen Kimchi. Hervorzuheben ist noch die persönliche Einweisung des Zimmers mit allen Servicemöglichkeiten und dass Schuhe und Laundry in ein extra Separee eingeschlossen werden können, so dass Housekeeping gar nicht in das Zimmer muss! Nach der zweiten Nacht wusste nun Housekeeping auch über die Schlafeigenschaften bescheid und reinigte die Zimmer demenstprechend, selbst wenn man vergessen hatte, das pls dont disturb auszustellen!

Negativ:: ja und trotzdem gab es doch so einige Sachen, die Verbesserungsfähig sind. Die Lobby ist sehr klein, gerade als Businesshotel. Gefühlt waren da zwei Stühle, also wenn jemand abgeholt werden möchte, kann der Abholer ja schlecht in der ebenfalls im Erdgeschoss befindlichen und dafür sehr schön eingerichteten Lounge warten. Das Western Lokal, obwohl mit Michelinkoch war eine Enttäuschung. Geschmacklich, vom Service und preislich entsprach es nicht dem Standard, welches ich vorher hier beschrieben habe. Hier galt auch, obwohl noch über eine Stunde Servicezeit, oh sorry just sold out. Kaltes Bier konnte nicht serviert werden, Nur warmes Bier mit Eiswürfel drin! Jeder kennt ja das Schildchen, was man auf das Bett legen soll, wenn man die gleiche Bettwäsche für den Folgetag bzw Nacht nutzen möchte! Als Diabetiker habe ich regelmäßig über Nacht Unterzuckerungen und damit Verbunden kalten Schweiß, also der dann in die Bettwäsche geruchlich auch eindringt. Obwohl ich das Schildchen nicht auf mein Kopfkissen gelegt habe, habe ich in der Folgenacht beim Versuch sich in die Bettwäsche einzukuscheln, ebenso diesen Geruch in der Nase gehabt, also folglich ist die Bettwäsche nicht gewechselt worden. Auch wenn immer Hosen und Hemden, die mal arglos auf der Couch lagen, schön gefaltet worden sind, dass darf bei dieser Preisklasse nicht passieren! Da es aber keine einmalige Geschichte war, denke ich ehr, an Weisungen vom Management, als Schusselligkeit der betroffenden Person!

Negativ:: Awkward furnishing and decoration. Dark furnitures makes the room strange. Huge dark doors in the lobby, looked so depressing.

Negativ:: but the pillows are too soft I had bad sleep and uncomfortable on my shoulder and neck every morning.

Positiv:: It was very clean. I love the customer service. Rooms are clean and most of the staff there speak English. The hotel is very comfortable, clean and staff goes above and beyond.

Positiv:: Everything works, staff are helpful especially the lady at the reception who checked us in. She tried her best to explain about the government policy of not allowing single use toiletry items. She did well!

Negativ:: I like it so much that I was convinced to join the Marriot Sheraton loyalty programme but I had not been able to register online due to some password or name problem. It would be great if someone from the Loyalty Programme centre could get it sorted out for me .

Positiv:: good location with friendly staff, near to just adjacent building to popular shopping centre, anyway guangzhou is a great city.

Positiv:: Das Hotel befindet sich in ausgezeichneter Lage in der Innenstadt, nahe der Metrostation (Ausgang E, dann im Festival Walk Ausgang 3 = 5 min gesamt) In der Executive Lounge ist es sehr angenehm, aber bei einer Woche Aufenthalt ist es leider immer das selbe Essen, insvesondere das Gemüse könnte abwechslungsreicher sein - immer Kohl ist übel!

Negativ:: Der unachtsame Umgang mit Ressourcen. So wurde bei einem 1-wöchigen Aufenthalt jeden Tag der Bademantel erneuert, obwohl ich das nicht gewünscht hätte.

They also served fresh fruit to my room for free two or three times during my stay. The only thing I did not like was the location. Actually I did not like walking around the hotel. Positiv:: I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. I’ve stayed in a lot of 5 star hotels and this one is definitely up there. From check in to check out, flawless. I’ll start with the room. A typical well planned and spacious room with big windows and a good view. The decoration is a little old but they maintain it so well, very very clean rooms (I would know because I have OCD with cleanliness, and my nose would pick it up straight away as I have dust allergy). Fixtures and fittings are top quality. I’m surprised how they keep the bathtub so clean, doesn’t look like it’s been used much. The beds! Oh the beds - so comfortable including the different pillows they give. Good sized bathroom with electric blinds for privacy from the bedroom. Next is the staff - second to none. Top notch service every time. Anything I requested from buying medicine in the middle of the night for my wife, to changing stay dates and refund was all seen to. Housekeeping was so good I never noticed them! They never disturbed us. Thanks to Elaine, Rio and anyone who I forgot the names of for a lovely stay. Location is the best in town. Endless shops and places to eat just downstairs (Pacific Place is the best for eating - Hot Iron in specific!). Metro is a 2 min walk and Guangzhou East Railway Station is 12 mins drive. I would definitely stay here again if I ever came back to GZ. Don’t waste your money with Conrad etc. Marriott is much better in Guangzhou. Thank you guys!

Negativ:: The whole check-in process was painful. We tried an early check-in and it took over 30 minutes for the front desk to figure out that the 2 rooms were not ready. When we were back at 17:00 for the check-in it took an other 30 minutes and the 2 rooms were still not ready. They told us 30 minutes but we had to wait an extra hour to get the rooms. Both rooms were booked as not smoking but they actually gave us 1 smoking room, had to change the room.

Positiv:: Das Hotel liegt sehr Nahe am am Exhebition-Center. Während einer Messe bestens, danach sehr sehr weit von der Stadt. Die Zimmer sind sehr gross, die Ausstattung gehobene Klasse aber nicht atemberaubend für den geforderten Preis

Negativ:: Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist eine Unverschämtheit ! Dinner-Buffet im Coffee-Shop (zugegeben sehr gute hochwertige Auswahl) rund € 60,00, das ist masslos überzogen auch für das Marriot. Preise für Wäscheservice: z.B. 1 Paar Socken RMB 58,00 + Service-Charge, d.h. € 6,50 FÜR 1 PAAR SOCKEN ! Ich bin Vielreisender und komme weltweit viel herum, aber hierher werde ich nicht mehr reisen !

Positiv:: The scenery was outstanding. The interior of the public areas was gorgeous. The sports facilities were good. Our room had a nice view from a nice cosy balcony. Breakfasts were plentiful and delicious.

Negativ:: Staff hardly spoke any English. The cleanness of the room left much to be desired. Cafes and restaurants are about 1 km walk from the hotel. Make sure the pool is open before you confirm your booking.

Negativ:: We booked a room with a double bed and got two twins instead. Wasnt a big problem. Just had to go back down and ask to be given a different room. Was just our second time staying here and the same thing happened last time.

Positiv:: Amazing hotel! The price was much less than what I would have paid for a hotel of similar style in the US! The hotel is beautiful & clean & the staff are extremely helpful, even when there is a language barrier. The breakfast was delicious & it had a lot of variety. Although the hotel is outside of downtown Guangzhou, there is a free shuttle bus to the city bus center, and the staff can help you find out ways to get into downtown Guangzhou. The grounds around the hotel are breath-taking! It was hard to leave such a wonderful hotel!

Positiv:: There was nothing that stuck out as being quality, the hotel was very average.

Negativ:: This is supposedly an international hotel but all the staff struggled to understand basic English. There was no "heart" to this hotel so you were either in your room or out.

Positiv:: Good value for money for a family.

Negativ:: The sofa bed did not have bed sheet or blanket cover. I had bed bugs bites in arms and legs.

Positiv:: Large room. Large shower. Comfort bed.

Negativ:: Apart from reception almost nobody speaks English. Large room, but although an international chain hotel (Hilton group) only Chinese tv channel, wifi signal unstable, few staff, apart from receptionists, speaking English... large room but no trypod nor other thing for the suitcase.... staying on floor.

Negativ:: Have to pay deposit to borrow ambrella during heavy rain

Positiv:: The brand name and the standard which goes along with it.

Negativ:: Total misrepresentation of the fact about Metro Station. It takes 23 minutes by walking fast and not 10 minutes as stated and Gangding Metro Station is over 1.7 Kms away and not 2600 ft as mentioned. We would have never ever booked here had the Metro fact not misrepresented. This was a very very expensive stay and not worth the amenities provided. 3 Stars out of 5

Positiv:: Breakfast was good, Wifi ,easy to connect just poor, Location pretty average 30 mins ost places of interest, however reasonably close to show..

Negativ:: Staff not very glued up or helpful

Positiv:: Staff, cleanliness, smelled good, maintenance of the hotel, luxury. It was one of the best hotels.

Negativ:: A little less American breakfast selection

Positiv:: Das Frühstücksbuffet ist mehr als ausreichend! Da findet ganz sicher jeder etwas.

Negativ:: Stau an der Kaffeemaschine... ;-)

Negativ:: breakfast / need a second coffee machine at the time of the fair. The food is not warm enough

Positiv:: Breakfast is mainly a good Asian style and only a little western. Staff is friendly. Starbucks is just connected to it.

Negativ:: Room key card need to be adjusted evary day, every time it was blocked even after complaints it was not changed. TV did not have any english channels - even no News channels.

Negativ:: The no smoking meant nothing. They were constantly smokers on the non smoking floors and when complaining they did nothing and didn’t compensate. Also, outside the hotel constantly smelt of sewer.

Positiv:: Very clean. great location. Comfortable room. Internet access in reception. WiFi strong. Staff friendly. Air conditioning and strong shower.

Negativ:: The food selection and availability was disappointing.

Positiv:: Tolles Frühstück, sehr komfortable Betten, große saubere Zimmer, netter Pool

Positiv:: All the service staff were polite, prompt and helpful. The hotel was clean, quiet and very comfortable. A sizeable 24hr Family Mart convenience store downstairs and lots of eateries nearby. The pool looks very inviting and the gym was 24hr access.

Positiv:: Staff at the club lounge were very friendly and helpful especially the msnager, Jennifer Lau

Negativ:: Club Lounge to have more snacks and refreshment and breakfast to be more elaborate

Positiv:: The receptionist are poor service, booked but waited for 2 hours because can’t find the booking. She has no eye contact, not polite at all.

Positiv:: Housekeeping team was good. Responded to every request promptly. Nice little touches like putting extra bottles of water in the room. Westin is well-located and near to subway, train station and shopping mall. Staff is friendly and helpful. Nice gym.

Negativ:: Breakfast restaurant furniture and decor a little dated. Can do with a refresh. Swimming pool requires users to have a cap, and I didn't have one, so couldn't use the pool.

Negativ:: There were apples and a banana welcoming Mr.Wang which was not me. Something was wrong with the switch to turn on the lights I had to press so hard. Sometimes it will not respond leaving me in pitch dark for few minutes trying to figure it out. You can see hand marks and finger prints all over the place which is pretty gross. The snack bar drawer was such a mess it looked like someone searched for something and left. I found several pieces of hair left from other guest(s). They came for tone down on the first night but dodo not come during the rest of my stay. What made it worst was the drain in the shower that looked like no one bothered to clean for a while. Tons of hair left. Really disgusting. Some people did not understand English well it was a hassle to communicate. I may be able to forgive if it was a local cheap hotel but it costed me 1100RMB per night and the hotel poses as high class hotel. They need to learn about sanitation and hospitality before focusing on design and getting fancy. Totally brought down the W brand for me.

Positiv:: Sehr gutes Frühstück mit großer Auswahl an internationalen Produkten. Lage sehr gut, Bar Street mit internationalen Bars und Restaurants ist direkt ums Eck. mit dem Taxi ca. 5-10min zum Exhibition Center
