During on boarding they communicate that because the cabin was full of hand luggage the rest of the passengers needed to dispatch their hand luggage for free. This occurs only because they charge to dispatch luggage when buying the tickets. So nobody dispatch luggage and those who dis became frustrated because they payed. This unfortunately occurs on all companies."

Scl is crazy airport — 20 minute wait for gate ramp when we got there (still 20 minutes early, instead of 40! On a 60-minute scheduled flight!). Huge long walk to immigration. Pretty long wait for bags. But it all worked out fine."

I understand the plan (767) is older and that does not bother me. What bothers me is the disparity in service between the two. I received great service the first time I traveled on LATAM, ever since then they have disappointed. I do not understand what is going on with them."

Sent us on a different flight. - Return flight from Cusco Bumped (+4 hrs late), promised voucher and upgrade due to all the previous issues. - Return flight out bound from Lima. Would no recognized any of the promises nor the inconveniences of the other flights and the promises. (In Lima all was denied by the land people but they kept on sending us from one person to another for over 3 hours until the final minute when all passengers where on board they said they could not do anything). Family was separated once again."

They also took beverages bought at the gift shops, right before getting on the plane which was unusual. Overall ground crew was not very customer service oriented. In flight crew was better."

Positiv: "Da das Flugzeug aus Santiago de Chile kommt, handelt es sich um eine Langstreckenmaschine, in der die Beinfreiheit auch in der Economy-Class sehr komfortabel ist (ich konnte problemlos meine Beine überkreuzen). Das persönliche Entertainmentsystem bietet eine große Auswahl an Filmen, TV-Serien und Spielen und der Touchscreen reagiert sehr schnell und flüssig. Es gibt USB- und normale Steckdosen an jedem Platz. Zu Essen gab es ein belegtes kaltes Sandwich, einen Schokoriegel sowie heiße und kalte Getränke, was dem Angebot bei anderen Airlines auf dieser Strecke entspricht und aufgrund der Flugzeit zwischen Mittag- und Abendessen auch ausreichend ist."
Negativ: "Der Check-In-Prozess in Madrid ist aus meiner Sicht idiotisch gestaltet: Zunächst muss man sich anstellen, um an Selbstbedienungskiosken die Aufkleber für das Gepäck auszudrucken und an den Koffern anzubringen, danach muss man zum bemannten Schalter gehen, um die Reisedokumente kontrollieren zu lassen und das Gepäck aufs Band zu stellen. Durch das eigenständige Ausdrucken der Etiketten spart man dem Check-In-Personal eine Arbeit von vielleicht 10 Sekunden pro Koffer – die Reisenden verlieren aber mindestens 15 Minuten beim Anstehen am Automaten, von denen es nämlich viel zu wenige gibt. Es ist mir völlig schleierhaft, warum LATAM auf diesem zweistufigen Prozess besteht, da man letztendlich ja doch zu einem Check-In-Agenten muss (und nicht, wie bei Lufthansa in Frankfurt, die gesamte Gepäckaufgabe automatisch läuft) und somit noch nicht einmal Arbeitskräfte eingespart werden – im Gegenteil stehen bei den Automaten zur Unterstützung sogar noch zwei zusätzliche Mitarbeiter. Es sollte also entweder auf das eigenständige Ausdrucken der Kofferetiketten verzichtet oder auf eine vollautomatische Gepäckaufgabe umgestellt werden, bei der man wirklich zu keinem Menschen mehr muss. Beim Boarding stellen sich die Passagiere nach Sitzreihe sortiert an, allerdings sind die Trennbänder zwischen den Gruppen viel zu kurz, sodass am Ende der Schlange alle Passagiere vermischt stehen. Stattdessen sollten die Fluggäste nach Sitzreihe zum Boarding aufgerufen werden, sodass auch wirklich nur diejenigen anstehen, die auch wirklich gleich an Bord gehen werden. Die Filme und TV-Serien an Bord sind, wenn überhaupt, nur auf Englisch und nicht auf Deutsch verfügbar. Untertitel gibt es in keiner Sprache."

Die Innenausstattung des Dreamliners ist zwar etwas älter aber in der Business-Klasse sehr großzügig. Die Entertainmentauswahl ist umfangreich. Wie es sich für eine südamerikanische Fluggesellschaft gehört, gab es eine große Auswahl an Latino-Rhythmen."
Negativ: "Beim Essen gab es leider keine Wahlmöglichkeit. Dafür waren die südamerikanischen Rotweine sehr lecker. Die Filmauswahl beinhaltet aktuelle Blockbuster. Sie stehen jedoch nur in den Sprachen Spanisch, Portugiesisch und Englisch zur Verfügung."

Needless to say, there was nothing else suspicious about me once the watch was removed. Eager to exercise her power, the security person did not seem to consider that she slowed down a long line of people waiting to be screened. I should add that I am 73 yrs old grey haired female who has traveled a lot both for pleasure and business during my entire life, often to some difficult places and that I do not argue with or provoke those in power in a situation like this. The yelling and the sending me repeatedly through the scanner, which did not beep once the watch was removed, was beyond anything I had experienced anywhere else. The sending me to the very end of the line seemed outright spiteful. (I did miss the plane connection.)"

Delta/Air France clearly singled her out. i am outraged! I have traveled many, many times and have sent hundreds of students on nearly the same trip -- and none have had as rough a time as she had. They will be hearing from me."

my luggage got badly damaged

DO NOT FLY WITH THIS AIRLINE! To start with, we were charged an extra $100 for our carry-on baggage apparently being overweight. This was not something we were told about prior to flying or we would have packed differently. During our layover in Portugal, we were delayed. Once they started to board, we got on the bus and drove out to the plane. Upon arriving at the plane, there were already two other busses there that had not even offloaded yet since they were apparently still servicing the plane. We had to stand in a crowded bus for about 45 minutes packed in like sardines. So much for social distancing and covid concerns! The plane itself was uncomfortable and the service terrible. I have flown across the Atlantic many many times on other airlines and have always received amazing service. This was not the case with TAP. Other than a small glass of water, we were only served drinks one time. There were no refills or additional service, which for a 9-hour flight is unheard of. I hated every minute of my time with TAP and will never fly with them again even if someone offered me a free ticket.

europäische Business Class lohnt sich nicht. Sie versprechen Dir Lounge, aber es gibt sie weder beim Start noch beim Ziel. Nur in Lissabon beim umsteigen. Und da werden fürchterlicher Kaffee und die schlechteste Pastel de Nata, die wir je erlebten, angeboten. Ganz ärmlich alles.

Had to attempt to cram in sideways - resulting in serious pain by the time the flight finally landed. Intercom system, especially from the captain, was painfully grating and loud. Boarding was extremely slow, in part because gate personnel made no effort whatsoever to police and enforce the four-group boarding process (premium - no carry-on - group A - group B). People boarded whenever they felt like it, many carrying on huge backpacks and multiple other pieces. Will definitely avoid TAP in future."

Nach dem getränkeservice versammelt sich das Bordpersonal hinten im Flieger zum schnacken."

Negativ: "Boarding at Lisbon airport was one of the worst experiences. Passengers were asked to line up at least 30 minutes before boarding started and it was hot in the terminal. As boarding started, passengers were split into groups by boarding zones...premium passengers boarded first as expected, then people with small bags. This is where the problem was because a group of four passengers who had one small bag (that could fit under seat) were allowed to go before passengers in boarding zones A/B. The whole idea is people who could fit bags under their seat would board first, but the tap team made a mess and allowed many passengers with large bags in as well. I was one of the last ones to be boarded and stranded on the line for over 40 minutes with my backpack...after traveling for a month and being delayed in Rome, last thing you want is stupid mistakes like this to cause you stress."

Negativ: "We travelled with 2 carry ones and one checked bag throughout our 2.5 week honeymoon. Check in agent suggested that we check all 3 of our bags since the flight was full. We did. The flight from BCN to LIS was delayed 2 hours at the gate, but we were told we could somehow still catch our flight from LIS to PDL. We trusted that was true. We arrived at LIS without a single garment of clothing (we checked all 3 bags through to PDL), and then realized we missed the flight to PDL. We stood in line for 3 HOURS at the TAP help desk, only to wait behind a group of very angry people who monopolized the staff. Once we told the agent our situation, he told us there were no more seats on any flight to PDL the next morning. Not only that, but he could not provide a hotel for us to spend the night. This is 2:30am, 3:30am BCN time. He told us to find our own hotel, but we do not have international phone plans, so we could not make the reservation ourselves. He had nowhere for us to sleep. Then he had us wait for his SATA associate to help us, and he put us on a flight to PDL the next day, but it was not direct! We had plans for the following day, a hotel reservation in Ponta Delgada that is NOT refundable, and now the final portion of our honeymoon is ruined. No one ever offered to give us vouchers for ANY costs or for the anxiety and total of 14 hours lost on the most important trip of our lives. Shameful."

Negativ: "The seats were really uncomfortable, the food was just ok and they did not advertise the shrimps to the allergics, the beverages were rare for a flight so long, so we got headaches and dehydration. The price to dispatch the luggage and to book the seats in advance was insanely expensive!"
