The service staff was great and very helpful. The rooms were okay and comfortable The food was very disgusting. They really need to ramp up the food service. No type of real Jamaican cuisine. They should compensate me for the awful dining experience.
The food was excellent, staff was very professional The smoking / non smoking areas need to be more defined especially for kids and people with respiratory problems.
Proximity to the beach, friendly staff, and cleanliness. The food is not all that great.
The food was lovely and the room was comfy. The staff was very courteous and very polite. The food at the grill needs a little work. I visited there twice and in the two instance the food was badly burnt, not very sumptuous at all.
Beautiful beachfront location, plenty of food & drinks and the staff were very sweet. Having never stayed in an all inclusive...I didn't realize you had to make dinner reservations at the resort restaurants a day ahead. We didn't get a chance to go because if this. I think the staff should have been more informative about this on check in.
The place very wonderful overall, the staff are super n fun! The service given is beautiful, yet at times scripted in their response, but seeing new faces continuely may get old! At times the buffet line was lacking... But understandable! The lack of the finer wines n liquor was sad, I would have paid for the higher quality of spirits if offered! The hassle to extend my stay by two days was a hassle at the front desk, yet online was easy to do, seemed odd. Free shuttle services to the airport would be nice for overall care of your customers
We had a very nice ocean-front room in an adults-only building with an adults-only pool and beach. Food was good and beverages plentiful. Too much loud reggae music blaring at you all day. We found refuge from the noise at the adult beach; however there were many hotel guests smoking pot there. Building 7 needs some plumbing upgrades on the bathroom and quieter air conditioning.
Perfect kid friendly environment with lots of activities for children. Childcare services Food was average. Not enough selections. My husband and I stayed out late 2 nights and could not find any food or drinks anywhere on the location when we got back. We were told that it is non-existent after 1am which diminishes the whole point of being all-inclusive. No mini bar in the room. Not even complimentary soda or bottled water in the refrigerator.
My husband and I stay here every visit so this hotel is very familiar with to us and the neighborhood
Staff was nice. The place was clean. Close to all the shopping and eating places on Hip Street. All with in walking distance. Stayed one night. Price was right. Stayed there because i had an early flight out of Montego bay the next morning.
Clean rooms, working AC, cable television, and two pools. After spending 3 days in a rustic cabin in Negril, this place felt like heaven. Also, the location is within a mile of the airport which is awesome. We stayed for one night specifically because we were flying out in the morning and didn't want any hassle getting to our flight on time. 1. I didn't like that the rooms don't offer wi-fi. The restaurant does, but that feature just comes off as a cheap ploy to pull more money out of their guests. Its 2015 and wi-fi in hotel rooms should be a standard for any hotel. 2. We booked through Kayak.com and the front desk didn't have our reservation on record. If I hadn't brought my confirmation number and customer service phone number for them, I'm not sure I would have been able to get in the door. Regardless, the staff were very nice and helpful while fixing the issue. My advice would be to book directly to avoid any confusion. 3. The hotel will set you up with transportation to local attractions (Rose Hall Great House, airport, etc.) for a price. After staying in laid-back negril for a couple days, we figured out the pricing scheme for taxis and immediately recognized Toby's quoted prices as a bit of a rip-off (nothing against Toby's, you'll probably see the same pricing at all hotels). If you're willing to actually talk/haggle with your taxi driver, you can walk 3 feet down the sidewalk and one will pull over and take you to the same destination for 1/2 of the price advertised in the hotel lobby. Rose Hall Great House - $10 to $12 (not $30). Airport - $8 to $10 (not $15).
My girlfriend and I were extremely comfortable from start to finish. Impeccably friendly staff and delicious food and drinks included in the purchase. BEWARE: the Romantic Dinner, wine, and Spa options are deceptively not included in the "all inclusive" purchase, and prices aren't available until you express interest to the concierge. Awkward to find out when you're there.
Adults only and the staff was amazing! The staff was so kind went out of their way for you and always so sweet. They remember you after only meeting you once! It was mostly couples which isn't a bad thing but could be annoying for some. It's a long way from most excursions. It's not a 5 Star compared to American Standards but for sure a 4-4.5!
The location of the hotel was in the middle of the hip strip so taxi shopping was very easy to get to. The breakfast you get toast muffin....EVERYDAY. When I got there the toilet didn't work went to the front desk reported it went out the hotel for a while came back at night check the toilet still wasn't fix. Went back down stairs and they said soon she will come and fix it so had to pour water in toilet till it was fix.
Detonating affordable and in walking distance to the supermarket, beach, entertainments and shipping. I was satisfied.
The people Doc, Karen, Kenny, ladies who served continentalbreakfast, and security. Access to a refrigerator and microwave
Very friendly and helpful staff Lousy internet connection
The fresh fruit juices, jerk chicken on the beach, the water aerobics The lack of available restaurant reservations, by the time we checked in they were all taken for the entire duration of our flight. The food was full of MSG, the buffet was like a shark tank feeding frenzy, dangerous at times with people running every direction and trying to get their food before you. The bar line was always a 10-15 minute wait, even after we tipped the bartenders generously. The pool chairs were completely reserved before 8am, reserved with towels but people were not there the entire day. We never once had a chair at the pool and there were 60+ each time just sitting there reserves but their "owners" we're no where near the pool area. The staff should not allow chairs to be reserved all day long whenever people are not using them. We paid the same amount for the all inclusive and did not enjoy a chair at the pool, a meal in the speciality restaurant!!!! The shops across the street were a rip off and the locals demanded tips for everything. They were not helpful, just wanted our money and were not shy in asking for it. I will never travel to Jamacia or any Riu properties again, this was my second Riu and was worst than the first sub par property.
Very friendly staff, good food. New Jamaican smoking laws prohibit smoking on most of the property except designated areas, of which there are only two.
The staff were all very polite. Very engaging
Jamaica has fantastic weather compared to snow and cold! The beaches were nice and clean. Pool was fantastic. There are many opportunities (+$) available with buses/taxis always ready within minutes to get you anywhere (+$). The food is pretty good but don't expect high quality. You should think ordinary buffet in the US. The only specialty restaurant that you should go to is the steak place. Unfortunately, like the other places, you won't be able to get a reservation even though the place WILL be empty when you walk by repeatedly. So, just go 15 mins after seating and then you can jump right in (done). Except for the steak place, the Italian and Asian food can all be obtained in the regular buffet line so it isn't very special. If you have food allergies/issues, you are on your own. Service everywhere is hit or miss. You'll be amazed by the service and then let down the next hour. I think training would go a long way. The amazing service is pretty much just the attitude of the employee. If you are looking for fun only, this place is great. If you are looking for luxury/quality/food/etc, go elsewhere.
Great service; the staff was very friendly and responsive. The shower was great (poor water pressure is a deal breaker for me). Balconies off every room make great places to watch the amazing sunrise and sunset. I got an ocean view room which was totally worth the extra money. The room furnishings are dated and the mattress felt like it was made of concrete. The food in Rose Hall left a great deal to be desired, especially at dinner; I was expecting a more expansive selection of Jamaican food.
I was very relax in this hotel the staff was nice and friendly
the hotel staff was well above friendly they all worked hard never stopped working always wanted to help you in any way the best resort i ever stayed at the best assocates ever they had a sewage leak at spa every day you had to walk by it to get to everthing at resort the smell was very bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you walk by to go eat 5 times aday smell bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all 6 days and nights jerry barron stayed 8 -28 to 9-3
Overall my experience for a first time visit to Mo.Ja.was fantastic and fulfilling the location, the staff, the quality as well as the food, and the community as a whole just a fabulous time and will be back
The price was the best I'd seen online and after staying there, I think it was the better to stay here, save the money, enjoy wheat they offered and spend your extra cash on activities. It's also on a main strip in Montego Bay. Big advantage. 1. They charge to have a guest or family member come up to your room - even if they aren't using any facilities, or eating, and are there for just 1 minute . Seriously!! Not a good policy because while in town people visit for an hour or so and wanna leave but you basically have to pay $35 for each person that comes over. Makes ZERO sense. 2. The buffet food was not that great. Felt re-used. A la carte was much better. I just enjoyed alcoholic drinks as part of the all-inclusive.
If you want to really know Jamaica and not feel like your in a tourist bubble , this place gives you that experience , its quiet the staff is engaging , the view is breathtaking , i say if its your 1st time visiting Ja do a hotel, but if you want to experience Jamaica from a different perspective and feel like you live there , I'd book at ocean view villa
Shuttle service to the beach and the airport Restaurant No hot water and no water pressure to take a shower
It was a decent location in relation to the main street in montegi bay. Therestaurant kept running out of ice and things on the menu. Went a while day without hot water and no watee pressure to take a shower.
Order food and chef came to see if I liked it. Room wasn't ready for starters. Once inside no towels and wash clothes. Sheets had stains like it was from guest before. I called down and ask for service no ever came I had to go down and complain. Ok day two no one ever came to clean room I can go on and on for each day but over Ali would love my money back or a credit because I feel like it was a horrible vacation story I couldn't get out of!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful views, friendly staff, shuttle to beach daily, pool was often empty for use Was a walk to the strip, but it was not too bad. We had a great time
This hotel is more for couples or people that are looking to relax.
The owners and staff, safety and felt like home away from home, :-) :-) :-) :-) Nothing, everything was beyond our expectations.
Location The room had splattered mosquito carcasses all over the walls no hot water no ironing board.... computer systems down check in was a nightmare also got eaten up by mosquitoes waiting to be checked in. Staff was marginally pleasant would not recommend staying here.
Loved the restaurants and food..staff was excellent and very friendly.. hotel was very clean. I am very happy we chose the Hyatt Ziva. We can't wait to get back.
The food was very good, rooms and view were excellent. The only complaint is the music went on a bit later in the night. Not terrible, but since I was there for business, I didn't get as much sleep as I would have liked.
The staff was great and very helpful and friendly. The air conditioning worked great and made the room very comfortable.
I was charged by the hotel on 2 different nights. I questioned them and they said they were not paid by priceline. I want myxxx back that I over paid them. Can you help?
free internet and parking nicestaff
Good staff good people will stay again Need to upgrade
Shady place, shower has almost no water pressure Everything is poor.
Everything picky eatter BUT i enjoyed the food nice restaurants
Sleeping in hammocks poolside, food, bartenders, lifeguards, everyone was extremely friendly & helpful. No partition between shower/wash basins & sleeping quarters (friends trip).
All good we had Jacuzzi on the deck oceanfront.only way to stay.oceanview not good spend the extra special restaurant over rated still perfect but buffet has everything plus some.room service none.like 3 things u can order.hot tub in living room never use cause we had jacuzzi on patio deck.party life ends @11 after that nothing really to do on resort. Do ur research on jamaica history its so sad the country get rob left and right.first off I went to the mountains not just the resort to see for my self.no WATER no where dought over 2 years .mean while hotels and resorts dont pay taxes the airports are run by Canada. So jamaica get no money for resorts or hotels and no money from airports the 2 most major things they have to offer they get cut out...America robs them of they red clay dirt you should see the land where they dug out the clay dirt all over the mountains. (To make cars and metals with the dirt) All they want you to see is the resorts and water...
