Close to our event but overpriced for the accommodation
It was clean.
There was no personal service. I had let them know I would be later than 3 p. Where we arrived a computer greeted us with a messages to call a number. "Resident Mgr" came and got the paperwork and then pointed us around the building. The 'Villia" was a 8 by 10 at most room I could see the bathroom as we stepped in. There was no kitchette. A mini fridge with a small microwave on top It doubled as the side table with a lamp on it. Also on the other side of the bed was a fairly large table and two full size dining room chairs The closet was a rod on the outside of the the bathroom door. No place to put your luggage. I had it on the floor. There was behind bathroom door a suitcase stand but no place to place it. Right as you came in was metal stand which held a small coffee pot with instant coffee packs (2). There were two towels 2 wash cloths, and a hand towels The door to outside was glass and the curtain barely covered the door for privacy. I will say the room and bathroom were clean. They do need to repair the walls and floor. Replace curtain on door . I had been offered a up grade for $18.00 plus tax earlier in the month. I called after one night but nothing else was available. I should have gone back to the Marriott
Heat was turned up too high, no control, had to stuff pillow in front of the vent. On site parking taken up by staff. Place could use a thorough cleaning. Resident manager and his guest/partner yelling, screaming using foul language throughout the night and early morning. You could hear everything through the vents and the open window right outside the door to our unit. I did not get the unit I paid for, paid more for the larger unit, gave us smaller unit. Booked this place to be close to other family. I do not recommend booking this place. Called to discuss experience, no answer. Sent text, no response.
Place was great. Lots of space.
Check in was strange. They took a cellphone picture of my license and cc. This procedure is unacceptable and should change.
I'm going to give this place as low a rating as I possibly can to hopefully draw attention to possibly the most uncomfortable and possibly illegal check-in process I've ever encountered. The room was great, the location was good. I actually really enjoyed my stay with the exception the thing that I'll be mentioning in my "What didn't you like?" portion of the review, which essentially destroyed my opinion of the place.
To verify my identity (apparently), the gentleman who checked me in asked for a photo ID and the credit card I used as payment. I handed both over, thinking this was pretty standard. I'd already paid online, so I assumed he was simply going to do a visual one-over. He then pulled his personal cell phone out and TOOK A PICTURE of my license and credit card. On his PERSONAL CELL PHONE. When I went, Whoa - hang tight. Why are you taking a picture of my ID and card? He responded - this is what we do with everyone to ensure their identity and "If you don't want me to do this you should have paid with cash." I responded that I'd already paid for the room online with my credit card, and there was nothing online that said "Some dude will be taking a picture of your ID and credit card with his personal cell phone, so if you're uncomfortable with that then we recommend you wait to show up and pay with cash." So... his answer to my discomfort was time travel to the past and make a different decision. Now some dude has my (and ostensibly a bunch of people's) IDs and credit cards in his phone to make sure I'm not committing fraud. I have to admit, the mental gymnastics and sheer absurdity of the situation rendered me speechless. Hey dude that has my highly exploitable personal information on his personal phone - hope you're a stand-up guy that would never commit fraud, yourself. I guess you've put me in a position to just cross my fingers and hope for the best.
