The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and spacious. The staff was courteous and helpful. The fitness center was disappointing in size and equipment available. It reminded me of fitness centers in 2 & 3 star hotels. On line it said there was a coffee/shop and bakery at the hotel and there were none. Online it also implies there was a spa but there was not. The front desk clerk said they could call someone off site to come to our room. One tiny window in the room. Paid approx $350 a night. Way too expensive for what it was.
Room, hotel, staff, service, awesomeness Single ply toilet paper
People at Kimpton hotels are amazing across the board but we found the team at The Vintage to be especially kind and caring. From the front desk staff to the bartenders we had great conversations with each person we met and that made it feel so welcoming. We'll definitely be going back.
Liked the style of the hotel lobby and rooms. Actual size of the room was tiny and way overpriced.
Good location with included bike rentals. There wasn't AC in the room.
The location and prices were fair with good access to the running path I thought the comforters were a little too warm, it would be nice to have something a little lighter
Loved the duvets. With there was a hot tub. Also, lots of homeless people camped very close to hotel made area less than great for walking around at night.
The location is great, add parking is free!. The rooms were too hot as they only have central air, and they can only have either heat or air conditioning on at any given time. My room faced the highway and the train tracks, so it was quite loud. They did however provide earplugs. But because my room is so hot, I had to sleep with the windows open, and unfortunately both of the screens on my windows were so severely torn they were worthless. I informed the staff about the screens and the next day they were still torn when I returned. I called the manager and he immediately came up and fix the screens for me and offered me an upgrade to a suite. So overall not that bad!
Room was comfortable and clean, restaurant was good, and location was extremely convenient to exploring downtown Portland. There is NO soundproofing in this hotel, so bring earplugs (or get some from the front desk). You will hear street noise, river noise, train noise, and TONS of noise from other guests.
All was good The blankets were a little confusing..
We stayed two nights for a fun weekend trip. The beds were super comfortable and the location was great! Our favorite part was the bikes they have available for you to take out to explore the city!! We had a blast and would highly recommend this hotel!
Great location, staff super friendly. Parking wasn't expensive but unexpected cost.
Very fun and unique place. Great staff. Free bicycles and shuttle services for guests. Complimentary tea and coffee in your room. Located near several bars and restaurants. Will be back. One of the door guys was a little rude. He was short in his responses and seemed bothered by simple questions. Not really a big deal though. Didn't take away at all from my great experience at the hotel. Maybe he was just having a bad day .
Fun location right on the river. Clean, modern hotel with helpful and friendly staff. The great location means that you will hear the noise (sometimes very loud) of an festivities happening on the river.
Hotel Rose is what it is: a recently renovated motel. It's clean and comfortable, and staff are friendly. But to call it a four-star hotel is a real stretch, in terms of amenities and service. Compared to other downtown luxury hotels, this is a big step down at the same price. The bathroom is tiny, with outdated fixtures and mold stains. The provided toiletries are cheesy Tommy Bahama brand with an intense pina colada scent that I was a bit embarrassed to smell like all day. The bed only comes with a comforter, strangely folded on top of a bare fitted sheet, so you have to make your own bed. The king bed comes with two of these, each covering half the bed. Just weird. When I asked the front desk for room service to give me a top sheet, I was told I could find one in the closet and to make the bed myself.
It happened to be 100 degrees that day in Portland and my air conditioning in the room went out. They immediately came to my room and while facilities management couldn't fix it they moved me very quickly to new room and one with a better view. I arrived in Portland at 9 am ( I know check in time is 4 pm) but I travel often and it's generally never a problem to get a room by noon. They told me they would call me when a room was ready. I called at 1:30 pm to see what the eta of my room would be. The front desk woman at that time was short and seemed put out when she said "it's ready". Don't offer a call back service if you aren't going to follow through.
The hotel is in a great location and upon entering all you see is a grand lobby decorated completely for Christmas. The checkin/check out process was incredibly easy and the staff was friendly. Even got a free upgrade on the room since we were there for only a night which was a huge and wonderful surprise. The room itself was clean and modern and the bed made me want to stay forever. The hotel offered complementary drinks at night which was a nice surprise and the morning breakfast was such a great experience as compared to other hotel's "breakfasts". Overall I would come back to this hotel every time I come to Portland.
I love the location, the staff, the old world charm, how accommodating everyone is. I'm not sure I love the new modern furniture in the lobby area.
Location close to everything! They charge you for wifi , why!?!?!
Breakfast and cocktail hour was great addition to the hotel and added value to the stay for price. Wish guest treated staff better by tipping for being served and cleaning tables was surprised that we were the only ones I could see that tipped everyone for what they did. I was ashamed that people don't appriciate nice friendly staff that are willing to help. Pool was a little colder then I was expecting for everyone wish it was a little warmer. Elevator were so long wait but I guess that what you get when it a historic hotel.
Room was great, after changing rooms. Initial room not as described and had to show desk clerk reservation copy from email on phone. Res promised room with a view on top floor. Given previous floor level with view of parking garage. Said were given last available room with view. Had a great view of the city looking towards the river. Breakfast was great! Although the "cooked to order" ad description should of said "buffet" with optional "made to order" omelette. I did, and it was good. Having to use Valet parking. Rather a forced choice, because of logistics, then end up in public parking area anyway. Location was horrible. Maybe for some tastes is ok. Rough inner city, area. Not a place for going for walks or taking a young family. Sorry, we love Embassy Suites, but won't return to this one. Again, hotel inside was great. The surroundings not so much.
The air conditioning was very noisy, and we had to turn it off which made the room uncomfortable.
I had a good experience. nothing!
Great, friendly staff. Excellent value for the money. The included drinks in the evening and full breakfast in the morning are a big bonus. I have stayed here before and will again.
Location was great. Parking Garage right across the street. The staff is the best in all departments. Room Service is outstanding and the Food delivered perfect. The beds were too hard and I woke up with a back ache both mornings. There is only one door between adjoining rooms and you can hear every thing that is said. Which also made us whisper. High school choir were in town and ran up and down hall way knocking on doors . Possibly they could place kids on one floor or wing as not to disturb your other customers.
The hotel is nice and in a good location I only gave this place three stars because the windows are only single pain which made our room very noisy. Lots of street noise and loud music from the club down the street. We went there to hang out down town but would also appreciate a good night sleep. Also the rate on kayak was the same as I could get just booking direct with the hotel.
Lack of cost effective or variety menu selections in steakhouse
Clean good complimentary breakfast and drinks Had to pay $10 for wifi $30 a night parking cable in room kept cutting out for our 2 night stay
Ideale Downtown Lage ( über Macy´s..). Sehr großzügiges und schön gestaltetes Atrium im 8. Stock. Sogar mit Bibliothek mit Billardtisch. Gutes Design. Gutes Frühstück im Urban Farmer. Departure Lounge gut für einen Happy hour Drink bei Sonnenschein auf der Terrasse. Kaffeemaschine im Zimmer wäre schön. Parken teuer, ebenso telefonieren.
Everyone is friendly and i loved how the room and hotel looked. I like the fact the hotel is animal friendly (eventhough we had no animals with us, but they might need to spray/clean their carpets/rooms more often because we woke up w/flea bites on our feet. That was a bummer!
location, easy to explore downtown and enjoy restaurants no coffee making facilities in the room, had to get dressed and go to reception for a cup of coffee. over night parking very expensive but valets very helpful and friendly.
The staff was extraordinary, the accommodations were lush and comfortable. Not a thing.
Spacious rooms with very unique decor and nice amenities. Nice lounge area near the lobby offering free coffee in the morning and wine socials in the evening. While there is coffee in the lobby I missed having a coffee maker in my room.
The location was perfect with easy access to wherever we wanted to visit. The staff was incredibly helpful. Hotel employee was so sweet to our 4 year-old son. The several outlets in the hotel were very loose, making it difficult to charge our electronic devices.

This place is great. Staff couldn't be better. Rooms are generous and cozy for downtown Portland.

Atmosphere of the room Customer service of the front staff did not meet my expectation at 4.5 star hotel.
Warm decor and friendly environment in a great location. The room is spacious and adorable. Bike valet is a bonus and lemon water in the lobby is a lovely touch! Some of the decoration pillows on the bed were stained and torn so we put them away. Overall a wonderful stay!
Great location close to all major downtown activites $41/dayplus tax for overnight parking !

Having good quality, well maintained (free) bikes available was a plus especially since Portland is such a bike friendly city. Happy hour reception in lobby, happy hour in bar, the staff, so many wonderful things about this hotel! We loved it!! Free coffee was provided in lobby was taken away at 9 am. As travelers sometimes we like to sleep in or would like an occasional late morning coffee, but they did accommodate in restaurant so how can we complain?
location cost of valet parking, only on site option, 35.00
Location and size of the rooms. Management during the day did everything to accommodate. Gave me giant rooms. Free wine. The view was amazing. No room service after 11pm. Night shift not the most educated or friendly.
Location, view, staff

Great location, very friendly helpful staff, comfortable bed, lots of natural light, hotel restaurant had good happy hour and great food Room did not have closet or iron. Was surprised that for the price we paid, there was nowhere to hang nicer clothes.
Friendly Bartending Staff at Imperial.
The staff gives you a lot of their time, professional and helpful, and most are friendly. The room was beautifully appointed, very comfortable for one person, and I was happily upgraded to a street view of the Starlight Parade. Unfortunately the ground floor was undergoing renovations, which had I known I would have booked elsewhere.
Very clean and tastefully appointed. A great place to decompress. Nothing
The location is great. You're close to plenty of great restaurants, museums and late night spots. The staff is very friendly and professional. The rooms are comfortable and include nice touches like USB ports on the lamps and recycling bins. And you get free beer every night. The rooms are a bit small, so you might want to upgrade to the larger rooms when you book. No closet space.
Classy place and Beer happy hour were amazing. Room size was a little small.
They upgraded my room when my original room wasn't ready on check in, and they sent a complimentary bottle of champagne to my room because it was my 21st birthday! Hotel was quite expensive for the size of the rooms
centerally located with a daily beer hour where you can grab free beer Rooms are some of the smallest that I've stayed at with very thin walls. Expect to hear your neighbors using the bathroom...
Absolutely the best location. Easy to travel to any part of portland, 5 minute walk from Powell's City of Books. Really nice staff, really nice valet, decent gym, decent facilities. Room is clean and cozy. Not a great view but it doesn't really matter since you can access the parts of the city with a great view within 10-15 minutes. Valet is a bit pricey. No view from our window, but it didn't bother me much.
Wish we would have known they were doing construction on the lobby. It was noisy so they should have given us something extra for the trouble
Loved the location, and spacious beautiful rooms! Would LOVE to stay at the Clarion again! The only thing I didn't like is that our trip didn't allow us more time to enjoy the room!
Excellent customer service and amenities. The room was large, well organized and clean. This is the best hotel around for the price! The breakfast was good. However, I'm not a big fan of cheese on eggs. Maybe you could have two options -- one with cheese and one with plain cooked eggs.
My husband and i planned a weekend away just the two of us, kids free in Portland for the Washougal nationals. We stayed at another motel the night prior, and had the most horrible experience ever. The wonderful girl at the front desk was so helpful and wonderful. They treated us so nicely. The room was fantastic. We were able to get a king room suite that day. After we checked in at about 10:30, we got right up to our room and went right back down to the wonderful hot tub and pool. The room was clean and wonderfully put together. The hotel is beautiful.
The shuttle driver to the airport was friendly. The booked me in a smoking room. The smell was so overpowering that I asked to have the rooms changed. They said no because "that was what was booked on orbitz" and didn't have any other rooms. I don't smoke and would not book a smoking room intentionally. there was no screen on the window. I felt sick in the morning. I travel a lot for work and have never complained about a room before.
Great room, amenities and proximity to airport Scheduled a wake up call but it never came. Important for a hotel for travelers and business professionals.
It was clean. Everywhere except the rooms seemed renovated. Very bad location. Nothing nice around to do. The best place to eat in that neighborhood is like an old cafe. Nothing modern or fancy. The people who were stayin at the hotel weren't that decent either.
Quick and efficient. Was there for an extended layover at PDX. Shuttle picked me up and dropped me off on time and had a comfortable sleep.
the heating system was noisy.
It's a bit off the beaten path in terms of staying in Downtown Portland, but they run a free shuttle to the Max which makes getting into the city easy ($2.50) even if you don't want to drive the 15 minutes (although it takes a bit longer than 15 minutes). Perfect place to stay at a great price if you want to experience Portland without forking over $250/night for a hotel. Nothing.
It was clean, the employees were fine..price was ok as well, I would say if you are ok with a mediocrity just cleanliness and a good price this is the place.. That's about it.. Otherwise if you want to feel like you are on vacation with a nice new comfy place then spend the extra 20-40 bucks a night and go with a more newer hotel. Dated hotel, it felt like a half @$$ remodel.. Bed and TV were up to date but tgat was it.. The wall paper, doors and bathroom were very dated; there were tears in wallpaper, all the doors were chipped up and there was a bit of mold around the tub chalking, also at the base of the tub the drywall was completely rotted, the room was just a bit dark and dingy for my taste..
You won't get any sleep unless you're on the top floor (so you can't hear the ppl stomping around above you) and nowhere near the constantly beeping elevator. Had to switch room three times until finally getting a good nights sleep in 419. i wouldn't stay here again unless I could get one of the 4 decent rooms.
i was in the second flor The rooms were pretty new I had a view towards the back and I liked it Pool look nice, but did not used it Breakfast was nice for a buffet, hot entries Beds were comfortable Except for not having a restaurant it was like a four star hotel My kids were in a separate room, they were happy i would even consider it for an extent it stay. Airport shuttle worked fine Nothing with the hotel The airport shuttle did not have a sign in front, so I had to guess a little, very minor quible
Es liegt in der Nähe des Flughafens Etwas alt, muss modernisiert werden
Alles war es wert für den Preis. Kissen! !! Sie waren nicht sehr komfortabel, sehr klumpig.
Service Papierdünne Wände
Der Preis Es gibt keinen Aufzug in diesem Hotel
Clean room, well kept, and decent location Small room, very expensive parking
Front desk and bell staff we very friendly and helpful. Everything was great.
I love this hotel and stay here every time I go to Portland. All of the staff, from the housekeepers, valet, bartenders, and the front desk are happy and kind and will go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
Great location and decor. Well maintained and clean. Downtown and Washington Park were easily accessible by foot and the light rail. Staff were very friendly. Room was incredibly small, especially compared to the Marriotts I stay at for business. My room was also next to the elevators so glad I brought my ear plugs.
Stylish, attentive service, cool bar, boutique nature of facility Justlocation is just a bit out of way but that could considered both a positive as well as negative
the room was clean lobby was way to small and noisy
The hotel is close to many great restaurants and theater. The staff were amazing - and the attention to detail and creative touches are very appreciated. No shelf or counter in the bathroom is annoying - but the ambiance and details outweigh that!
housekeeping was excellent banquet staff was excellent excellent location hotel for 20s and 30s Front desk staff was all business, condescending and rude our king room was miniscule bathrooms lacked safety bars parking rules were never made clear
Location and staff were great. Flowers were a little pass their time and bathroom needed a little work. Lightning in the bathroom was poor and a magnificent mirror would have been helpful .
The location is great (close to all the downtown spots). The staff are well-trained and express interest/care. The hotel is dated. The look can be charming. But I don't think that chipped paint, old and over-exposed grout, faded/worn carpets, tough mattresses are part of the decor. Maybe other rooms in the hotel have been updated, but my room was not. I also faced a very load street/area so I would recommend asking for an updated room (if they have any), and for a room in a quiet location.
The lobby alone makes this place worth it. Top notch all around.
Location was great and allowed us to walk to nearly everything we wanted to do. Lobby bar was amongst the best I've ever been to. Parking was not explained very well, and expensive. The valets ignored us for over 10 min before we drove off and parked in the garage that was less than a block away. Turned out to be the same garage the valet uses, and has a tunnel connected to the hotel. Room was dark due to only having one small window in the corner.
Hotel is very old but extremely well kept, it has a kind of regal feel whenever you walk in. Very good service and the location is the best. Just two things: The love seat and chairs in my room looked a little old, not in bad shape or anything, just old. The bathroom light was a little dim.
Convenient location, short two blocks from the MAX light-rail. Incredibly luxurious room, decent (not spectacular but OK) free internet (could get more speed for more money). Need room key to activate the elevator - an added level of security. Room was a bit dark, could definitely use more lighting or more powerful light bulbs.
Easy walking to shopping in downtown and the Pearl district. Close to food carts and beer gardens. 1 block from the Max train.
Location in the heart of Portland. Great lobby. Staff unhelpful. Reservation was cancelled when it shouldn't have been. Small beds and rooms. Bathrooms just okay. expensive for what you get.
Very comfortable bed and staff was quite friendly. Great lobby and building with a ton of character, historic architecture, marble, and classic woodwork. (If you want a sleek, modern, generic place that looks the same as a hotel in any other city, this is not the hotel for you.) My room (1212) was quite small, especially the bathroom. Because I wanted a single large bed and the hotel was pretty full, I think maybe I had that oddball room that most older hotels have that are squeezed into a non-regular space. In this case, it also happened to be near housekeeping, which was noisy in the morning with carts being banged around. The room was fine but smaller than one might expect. The bathroom was ok for me but would have been an issue for someone who spends more time getting ready. There was not even enough room to stand squarely in front of the tiny sink because a bookcase/shelving unit was put on the wall right in the area in front of sink. I had to shave at an odd angle, off to the side of the sink.
Everything. Especially the bartender. He is so knowledgeable about scotch, etc. He's wonderful. He the reason we stay there every holiday season. I forget his name but he's been there forever.
Great location, lovely hotel. I really just wanted to get some sleep. There was a lot of street noise, even in the middle of the night. Who knew Portland was so loud?
Excellent location near great bars pubs and restaurants
very walkable, close to theater and parks, walk to the river, I like a firmer bed but no one else in the party had bed issues
The location on the water front is potentially nice. (1) Took well over 1 hour to check in at 2;30PM -- no rooms available! (2) Noisy. Lots of ambient street noise
Location is great, facility is amazing, and staff was exceptional! Bed was a little firm but still got a good nights rest.
they brought a mini-fridge on request. lots of plugs for charging. Nice location, close to waterfront park and quieter than mid town locations.
We were able to walk or catch the trolley and go anywhere we wanted. It is quite central so we could see lots of attractions Great place
The view was beautiful. Very nice employees.
Beautiful building, excellent location near the Pearl District. Loads of cool shops, restaurants, and breweries nearby. Hotel lent us bikes! Pricey but not out of line for area hotels.
Have stayed there before and the Hotel is lovely. Bit of a remodel going on, but it's not intrusive. Service is attentive and Portland-friendly. The parking charge of $36 overnight is usurious; we had to park two cars and when asked if they would comp one of them due to our circumstances, they refused. This will cause me to stay someplace else next time.
The staff and location were excellent. Room furniture was too large fore size of room.
Great hotel, centrally located, free public transport close to several good quality restuarants noisey air conditioning
Great location. Bar was awesome! Have a "bee's knees"! Because I used the door knocker that said I didn't need sheets and towels changed, no one ever came to my room to take the garbage or give us more TP, etc. thankfully there was an extra roll in the room. And one of the valet guys was rude to my uber driver when she came to pick us up. It was uncalled for.
Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Location was excellent. Valet service an absolute disaster. Front desk unable to give good rec's on what to do and where to eat.
The receptioni staff were excellent. They upgraded our room after we told them of our vacation from hell just a month earlier. The location was perfect for us. It is close to the business area, the college and some of Portland best food. Loved it and would stay again.
The location is great, and the service is spectacular!
Very comfortable room in lovingly restored late nineteenth century building, with excellent restaurant attached. Extremely good value for money.
Very comfortable room, old luxury style, very friendly staff No view, single elevator
Good renovation of an old hotel. No pool.
Couldn't be more helpful, great location and great price for luxury stay
Great housekeeping, clean rooms, affordable prices. We thought this was closer to actual downtown, confusing name. the price of parking is ridiculous. We found free spots near the hotel but walking in the cold wasn't fun.
pleasant atmosphere courteous clean helpfu; to elderly couple prompt with service and recommendations overall - l a good experience would definitely stay again. nothing
Not a lot. High price hotel with only the convention center to offer as an attraction. Not many attractions within walking distance. Auto rental was 3x what I usually pay I would not return to this hotel
Great location, great service, very comfortable and clean. Our original room had a small window frame gap which let a small amount of very cold air in (it was 30f outside). When we reported it to the front desk, they moved us to a separate room and even upgraded us to a bigger room. The second room didn't have the same problem. We were very pleased.
Really enjoyed the salt water pool and hot tub. Also got a room with a great view of downtown. The bed was comfortable and the rest of the room was really clean. Only wish that it wasn't right next to the moda center. And they charge you $19 a night for parking, which is really ridiculous to me.
Coffee was okay in the room Kinda reasonably priced. Kind of dirty. Thin walls. There are much better places to stay in Portland.
Very easy access to the mass transit, easy walking distance to downtown Portland and Saturday market A bit industrial in that specific location, but not too much so.
