I then tried to pay cash, but he said that he didn't accept Canadian currency, so I would have to use the ATM to withdraw American cash. I did, and the fees were ridiculous. Then, he didn't have change to break the 40$ i withdrew into his $25 fee. I proceeded to follow him as he walked around for twenty minutes asking random people at the airport if they had change for a twenty. It was very embarrassing and stressful, as I already was in tears from saying goodbye to my partner. Boarding the plane wasn't a problem, but getting on a plane in Orlando, Florida with the air conditioner broken with a plane of 300+ was outrageous. It felt like a sauna in the airplane and the kids were screaming in discomfort, something a 20-something like myself wanted to do as well but had the control not to. It's a shame because we used Air Canada a lot to travel back and forth to visit each other, but with this last trip we will no longer be using this airline and will shop for alternatives who are worth the price of admission."

Negativ: "I had a window seat which had the new dimming glass rather than the pull-down shade. I kept the window at the darkest setting, and, even so, the window was so hot you could not hold your hand on it for more than a few seconds without it burning. The heat radiated so far out from the window that I needed to keep the air vent open totolerate it. Usually, when one sits in a window seat, they have the luxury of leaning against it with their pillow as they rest. The heat made this very uncomfortable, and for me, impossible. In fact, at a certain point, a stewardess came to the row ahead of me and excused herself with those passengers saying that she wanted to check the window of that row as the person sitting there was wondering is there was a malfunction in the window because it was burning hot. I spoke up and told the stewardess that the window was unbearably hot and to try to hold her hand on it. She responded, "Wow! That really IS the hot!" She said she'd check up front. She came back saying the pilot said it was because we are on the side of the plane facing the sun. We were on that side for 8 hours!! I find it hard to believe these windows weren't researched more thoroughly under all conditions, including the continual beating of the particular seasonal angle of the sun for long overseas flights! Please take this response seriously, as it truly was incredibly uncomfortable."

Negativ: "My bag did not arrive for close to 2 hours after we landed. About 15 bags were released on the carousel at an appropriate time and over an hour later the rest of the plane's bags arrived. The staff were not overly concerned. They announced a number of times that the bags were coming, it was almost comical. I have dealt with this before at Pearson I don't understand why it takes large amounts of time to unload bags from the plane? Or why a few bags arrived and the others took 2 hours? I am not sure if Air Canada has any control over this or if it is Pearson's responsibility but I would appreciate if you could forward this complaint to the appropriate folks. Thanks."
Positiv: "The employees recognized our needs, were polite, accommodated easily to french or english, and even told people to clear the boarding area if it wasn't time for their zone to board (a major pet peeve of mine)."
Negativ: "No inflight entertainment or food and really small seats. Yeah, you can pay extra for an ipad or to get food, but for most decent flights these days you get at least something to eat for free. Especially on a 7 hour flight from US to CAN. My knees nearly touched the seat in front of me. It wasn't that small of a plane, i just think they really wanted to pack us in. If they removed a row or two and gave everyone just an inch more space how much would that REALLY set them back?"

Negativ: "The plane left over an hour late, despite the fact that the plane was at the gate hours before departure. This caused us to miss our connection to St. Louis. While they rerouted others on the flight, they did not reroute us because we didn't check any luggage! Their reasoning was we had a chance to make the connection. But they made us wait in a line for 10 minutes to be told that despite our requests to go to the gate. By then it was too late. We then had to fly stand by to Chicago and stand by again to get to St. Louis."
Positiv: "The van that waited to quickly take us to customs and then to the gate to escort us to our connecting flight (which had been held for us) was incredibly welcome and helpful. I am grateful for that consideration and effort made on our behalf. The flight staff was excellent. Everything seemed to go very smoothly. I really liked the built in screens (& headphones) and entertainment programming made available to us."

Unfortunately, our flight from Munich to Toronto had a delay, so I couldn't make it to the connecting flight. Without having to ask or complain, Air Canada booked us on the next possible flight, which was the next morning, and gave us the boarding passes and a voucher for a Sheradon hotel close to Toronto airport, where I went by a free Sheradon Shuttle bus."
Negativ: "I would have liked to be informed more than two times in 30minutes at the boarding area, about what was going on with the plane having to start later. It's not the waiting that is the bad thing in my eyes, it's the not knowing what is going on, also for passengers arriving after the first announcement. I could imagine people being a little more understanding, if they know what is going on, as well as your staff being less busy to answer questions, but instead being able to solve part of the problem."
