Easy check-in and friendly servicePositiv: The staff in Lexington was super helpful in informing me what my car options were and what the features were in each. The car was clean and in great condition, and it was easy to find in the rental lot. Have no complaints.

Terrible carNegativ: The car I reserve was not ready so I took an "upgrade" to a Jeep Liberty. The car got about 17 mpg which is half of what the economy car is reserved would've gotten.
On the way home the transmission kept overheating and the car would barely move. If limp to an exit, let it cool off then it would go again.
I tried several times to call customer service. No answer from the airport pickup location. 3 tries to get through all the menus to get to a live person. I asked her to call ahead and arrange for a replacement vehicle to be ready for me. She informed me I'd have to call the location myself then transferred me to a number that had been disconnected. It was a very frustrating 14hr. One way rental.
The girl at my airport was very understanding and gave me a discount but the earlier problems were frankly inexcusable.

Friendly servicePositiv: Truman Padgett was both our rental agent and the employee who met us in the rental return garage in Lexington. He was friendly and helpful. The return in particular was handled graciously and smoothly. Negativ: I was never able to make the driver's set sit straight up and had to lean forward for both 70 minute drives during the rental period. There were a couple of mostly empty fast food cups under the seat when I reached onto the floor of the back seat to retrieve my briefcase.
Positiv: The gentleman at the counter was extremely personable, kind and friendly. Wish I could recall his name. Excellent customer service representative for your company. I give HIM 5 stars

Positiv: Very convenient, quick and efficient at the rental counter. Return was also quick and efficient.Negativ: Car had quite a few miles on it, which wasn't a problem, but the seats had several what looked like cigarette burns in them.
Negativ: There was nothing about the experience I liked! When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, my reservation was not honored!

Decent vehicle and the price was exactly as quoted.Positiv: The vehicle was well equipped. A Ford Fusion with backup camera and bluetooth sound system. The leather seats were very comfortable.Negativ: There were a number of body scratches and I was afraid I would get blamed for them since no one came outside with me when I picked up the car and no one noted the condition of the vehicle. It also wasn't clean, particularly the interior windshield.
Positiv: They charged for me an hourly rate ($189) which they finally removed. Then I discovered they charged me for a tank of fuel when it was re turned with a full tank. Still awaiting a reply on the refund. Disappointing .
Positiv: Avis was great. Car was great Negativ: The kayak deal didn't work. Tried to get a cheaper car cause kayak listed a shuttle to a different location that didn't exist. Costed more than planned.
worst audio system everNegativ: This was the most infuriating experience with a car audio system ever. I don't know how anyone who uses a smartphone as an audio source could ever drive this car. When connected with a USB cable, so i could charge my phone, the system kept stopping the audio(podcasts app) and then switching to my music, randomly. I tried to just listen to music but it kept randomly stopping playback, sometimes restarting the song from the beginning, sometimes going to a completely different song, sometimes stopping entirely. I gave up trying to play from my phone and turned off audio in the car completely. while i left the phone plugged into USB to charge, but still, without me touching the phone or audio system, it would randomly open my music and start playing random songs through the audio system. I know my phone is not the problem because my personal car has a USB port integrated with the audio system and it works perfectly with my phone.

I tried to extend my rental by one day according to my contract it was 14.85 and it took an hour of talking to people who obviously can't speak English very well to then connect me to the actual location who then tried to charge me a weekly rate for one day. A contract is a contract and regardless of the fact you printed something you don't like at this point it's still enforceable over your policy of whatever. To try and convince me to add know you to violate your contract and charge me $156 to extend for one day when my contract plainly said $14.85 a day is almost fraud. But then to have an employee tell me if I don't like it then bring the car back on time or pay means not only will I never rent with you again or suggest anyone does, but also that I'll refer it to the state attorney and the BBB. It's a disgrace for supposed p ET pole to want to extort money out if you by trying to enforce the very contract they are wanting to violate. Pathetic.

Car was misrepresented on KayakPositiv: What a terrible car rental experience. The car I eventually got in was almost okay.Negativ: I was sold a full-size car as a "Manager's Choice". It was said on Kayak that I'd be receiving the manager's choice of full-size car. What they gave me was the worst, most stripped subcompact car I've ever seen. It didn't even have cruise control or an Aux Jack and the person at the counter wouldn't let me cancel my rental. They said it would be a couple dollars extra per day for the car I got, but in the end when I checked out it nearly doubled my rental rate.
Great Service would rent from againPositiv: I arrived and the employee was very nice. They did not have the size car that I had reserved and so I was upgraded to a small SUV at no additional cost. Vehicle was clean and drove well. Negativ: I had no real issues at all. The only thing that I could mention was really nothing. As I was driving back to return the vehicle a warning light came on. It was fine and there was no issues with the vehicle performance. I returned safely and with no incidents.

Not new car smell.Positiv: Car was cheap and practical. Negativ: The car smelled as if someone had smoked in it and their was an attempt to cover it up. We had to spray our own freshener in it so we could handle it for a quick two day trip.

Positiv: NothingNegativ: Inconsiderate. Policy of payment sucks. Other rental companies take debit cards, not Enterprise. What makes me want to do business with a company who doesn't care if I get home or not? I will never do business with such a cold hearted business.
Negativ: The car was not ready when I arrived to pick it up. I really dislike getting a car that doesn't have a full tank of gas and being tol to bring it back with the same amount of gas. It means that Enterprise will always get back more gas than you had at the beginning!

I ended up not picking up the car because of some miscommunicationNegativ: Initially, I had booked the car for Lexington, KY. Discovered that the flight was out of Cincinnati, OH. Called in to Hertz to switch. They did, but did not change email. I received an email 2 days before the flight stating that my reservation was for Lexington. I had to call again and they said that they had no vehicles in Cincinnati. I had to book last minute with another agency. When I got in the air to go to Cincinnati, received another email stating that my reservation was for Cincinnati. I had to cancel that one while landing in Cincinnati. I was quite frustrated that they had not sent me a confirmation that I had another reservation created for Cincinnati. Poor communication overall by Hertz.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCEPositiv: The only thing I liked was the fact that I didn't have to pay any money to rent a car from this company.Negativ: I had a reservation, but when I went to pick up the car at the scheduled time, I was told no cars were available. Also, the person helping us was extremely rude and seemed annoyed that my wife and I were asking her questions.

Lexington DisappointmentNegativ: After arriving late due to our delayed flight the Hertz Front desk informed us that they Cancelled our Reservation which was very Unsatisfactory. We defiantly will never book with this location ever again.

Good rental- prepayment online limited change optionsPositiv: Great carNegativ: Prepayment, which wasn't clear when booking, meant no changes without $50 fee, and couldn't use AAA waiver for adding additional driver without paying the $13/day fee. Won't be booking though Kayak again.

Even though the guy did smile the whole time showing he was a true jerk!Negativ: They stated it was booked thru a third party so they didn't have to honor the reservation. Then told me I could buy a plane ticket and be allowed the rental, so I buy a cheap flight, they again refuse saying I'm trying to defraud them!! I am still waiting on my refund& this has been over a week ago!!!
If you want an ACTUAL fullsize car, get a PREMIUM! Negativ: Did not follow through with my reservation, as the "fullsize" car I had reserved months ago was going to be, by government standards, a midsize car. After some research on my own, NOT by suggestion of the reps there, I figured out a "premium" or "luxury" car is a real fullsize car. Of course, last minute, there were no premiums available through Hertz, so I had to get a TRUCK through AVIS to make my trip.
