My assigned seat was broken. The seat actually fell off the frame. I contacted a crew member who called maintenance to fix it. They couldn't fix it. So the crew member pulled up a seat cushion from somewhere else and just stuck it down in my place. While this was happening, I had to stand around, moving from free place to free place as others boarded.
TAP also does not offer vegetarian meals. You have to special request it, unlike most other carriers. This is stated nowhere in the booking process. Even the salad had meat.
The flight was over and over delayed due to no captain would be available. In the end the flight was leaving 4 hours late and no compensation like free food voucher would be offered. We were hungry and they let us wait the last 40min in the plane until the finally could find a co-pilot. No information was offered to the passenger as to when we would be leaving
Most of the flight was good, as I've come to expect from KLM/AF/DL. Entertainment choices were great and most of the staff was very friendly. Fresh brewed coffee in the beverage service was a huge plus!
I usually fly Air France CDG-BOS and love it. My flight AMS-BOS with KLM/Delta was a disappointment from those experiences. The food was not very good and I'm not a huge fan of planes so old that my seat is a flotation device rather than having a real life jacket. Also part of my checked bag was broken off during transport.
