Krista at the front desk was exceptional. She took care of us and made our stay very enjoyable. She went out of her way to make sure all our needs were met. It is very rare to find people who will go out of their way to make sure all your needs are met and more. Krista is one of those and then some, we thank here for all she did for us.
When we arrived to check-in to our prepaid rooms, the lady at the front-desk told us that they overbooked and had no rooms for us. Instead, they had rooms available at their sister hotel across the street, Candlewood Suites. When we got there, they tried to charge us again for rooms we already paid for 5 months in advance. It was very upsetting but I kept my cool. Then, after we finally got settled with all our luggage and a very tired 5 year old, we found that they haven't changed their sheets. We found hair all over inside their made beds. The carpet was filthy that it turned out socks dark brown/black. We slept in spite of the icky feeling we got knowing we're sleeping in dirty sheets. We found out later that the owner owns three hotels right near each other, overbooks, then sends guests to other ones to guarantee his income. Feeling very scammed! For our free breakfast, we walked two minutes to the third sister hotel, Holiday Inn Express whose continental breakfast was very good! We left smiling but nevertheless, I can't help feeling that we'd been had.
The staff was friendly and very helpful - my family has allergies to animals and perfumes; the hotel uses scented air fresheners but we were able to find the least scented room and our stay was all good.
