Hostels in London

Positiv:: Location is great. I checked in midnight but there were night buses to reach and also staff didnt raised an eye-brow.

Negativ:: Only the problem is as its adjacent to rail tracks there is lot of noise from is in night and early morning.

Positiv:: First things first: the location is the absolute best thing about this hostel. The facilities are nice enough. The dorms are spacious enough, the pub where you can eat your breakfast is cozy, and everything seems to be cleaned regularly. A last positive worth mentioning, is that they really do offer quite a bit of "extra"s, for example you can borrow a towel for free.

Negativ:: Facilities: there's not nearly enough showers. Atmosphere: OMG, such a bad atmosphere among guests. The one time I arrived at night, I turned on the light to find my bed without stumbling over stuff that was lying on the floor. Immediately a guy two beds over shot upright and started ranting at me about turning on the light and apparently waking him in the process. (I have yet to meet a hostel where people don't arrive during the night and turn on the lights.) I apologised, turned off the main light, went to the sinks in a seperate room within the dorm and, yes, turned on the lights within that room to brush my teeth. Immediately, another guy who slept next to the entrance of that little room started verbally abusing me for turning on the light and waking *him*. Not my fault the hostel couldn't be bothered to put a curtain or a door there to block the light from spilling into the dorm. Anyway, I want to charge my phone and notice that the socket meant for my bunk bed (and the only one close enough to charge my phone without having to put it on the floor where everyone can steal it) has been used for a fan. No problem, theres another socket I can plug the fan into and re-claim my socket. I unplug the fan, plug in my phone and start plugging the fan into the other socket. Guy 1 jumps out of his bed, comes up in my personal space, starts complaining about my unplugging the fan. I try to explain that I'm definitely gonna turn the fan back on, but he keeps chanting 'fuck you' over and over to silence my words. I still charge my phone (without unplugging the fan), and guess what magically disappeared by the next morning? My adapter. Not my phone (with a drained battery), but my international adapter. Fair to assume Guy 1 did it. I inform an employee of what happened. They make promises about talking to the guy, asking him about the adapter etc. And then proceeded to not do any of that.

Positiv:: The bed was comfortable, and the bar looks pretty nice. Also they have a good breakfast, bread, jams, cereals, milk and veggies milk, juices, coffe, chocolate, tea and fruits.

Negativ:: One shower has no light, and the other shower has no window. The open time for breakfast is 8am, I think it would be nice to star earlier, like 7 or 7:30.

Positiv:: Clean Room, clean beds, Great breakfast for a hostel, very near to underground stations (Lambeth North and waterloo) Welcoming & Friendly staff and great value for money

Negativ:: shower in the 4th floor needs maintenance

Positiv:: Persönliche Einweisung ins Hotel, gutes Frühstück!

Positiv:: The service!

Positiv:: It was clean. Wifi was good. I liked the bar below the hostel and the 10% discount for guests. Breakfast was basic but good.

Negativ:: The noise of the trains passing right by the window.

Positiv:: The hostel staff is really nice and makes you feel welcome. Good location but bring earplugs if your sensitive to noise as Its next to a train station. Over all a good and safe place to stay

Positiv:: Nice staff and location.

Negativ:: No locks for the lockers and loud train passing the bedroom regularly.

Positiv:: everything other than the bathrooms

Negativ:: Older building that definitely would not pass as a hotel

Negativ:: Keine gemeinsame Küche.

Positiv:: Nichts

Negativ:: Die Zimmer sind eine Katastrophe, so muss es im gefängnis sein. Die duschen sind schimmlig und auf den fluren riecht es eklig. Das gebuchte u bezahlte Frühstück war ungenießbar! Ärgerlich. Entschädigt hat uns einzigst das super Wetter, damit wir immer draußen sein konnten u nicht ins Hostel mussten.

Positiv:: Besonders gefallen hat mir am SoHostel die super Lage! Man konnte fußläufig in max. 20min viele wichtige Sehenswürdigkeiten erreichen z.B. Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Street etc. Des Weiteren gab es sehr viele tolle Bars und Restaurants in der Nähe welche ein super Nachtleben ermöglichen. Das Personal war sehr nett und immer kompromissbereit. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung

Negativ:: Leider muss ich sagen, dass ich die Unterkunft nicht besonders sauber fand. Ergänzend muss ich sagen, dass ich sehr viel wert auf Hygiene lege und möglicherweise der ein oder andere das etwas lockerer sieht. Jedoch waren schon öfters Schimmel und Rost an den sanitären Anlagen zu finden sowie verschmutzte Toiletten. Die Bettwäsche war sauber, die Betten jedoch sehr durchgelegen. Es war nachts oft laut. Alles in allem empfand ich das Hostel als bereits in die Jahre gekommen und etwas teuer für die erhaltene Leistung.

Positiv:: Everything from the first moment was great, friendly stuff helping on every step, great menu options, and bar for the nights, comfortable rooms, very clean, even possibility to do laundry (which was helpful cause I stayed 3 weeks) and amazing localisation, so close to all main points, supermarket on the other side, for sure I come back here when I visit London next time

Negativ:: Small room, bed in conner of the room with small window and dirty sheets

Positiv:: Had the absolute pleasure of staying at SoHostel. Well cared for, clean and well equipped with some of the most caring and dedicated staff I’ve come across. A special mention to Amanda, Jake and Valerio who all made incredibly sincere efforts to make sure I was comfortable and accommodated during my stay, I have never met such kind and caring staff. A huge recommendation from me.

Positiv:: The Location was great, actually awesome near everything you want in London, Staff was amazing and so helpful. The facility was so clean especially the Bathrooms.

Negativ:: The room sizes wasn’t that good, it could be better and also the ventilation was really bad. We actually suffered from that.

Positiv:: The bar and breakfast is great, location is strategically located near bars, restaurants and public transport, staff are all helpful and friendly.

Positiv:: The property had a really nice central location. Facilities were regulary cleaned, and the staff really nice and helpful

Negativ:: The only problem were noisy room doors, which woke me up every time someon entered the room, but this is probably more problem of a inconsiderate person the hostel itself.

Positiv:: Breakfast was good, staff exceeded expectations for friendliness and helpfulness.

Negativ:: Bedding could be better, pillows very flat and made sleep difficult. Rooms get very warm as window barely opens. Lights in the corridors could be dimmer after 11pm as they shone under the door and kept the room lighter than is good for sleeping.

Positiv:: Lage, Lage, Lage! St Paul's und London Visitor Center, 2 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Reichlich Essen und Trinken Möglichkeiten in der Nähe.

Positiv:: Excellent location - friendly staff - pleasant accomodation and rooms

Positiv:: The staff was very helpful even though I fell sick. They were cool and kind.

Negativ:: Ventilation on the ground floor but the building is heritage so it is fine.

Negativ:: Das einzige Manko war der Teppich im Zimmer und Korridor. Sie haben sehr übel gerochen, wir konnten nicht richtig lüften da das Zimmer in Subterran war

Positiv:: Close enough to the St Paul tube station

Negativ:: The surroundings are EXTREMELY noisy. There were groups of drunk men and women passing by on the road all night screaming, shouting and laughing - ensuring you dont get to sleep. To top it all the St Paul cathedral bells ring all night (every half hour and then longer for the hourly change) to leave no scope for a proper night's sleep

Positiv:: Clean room Comfy room Quiet room staff friendly

Negativ:: Shower low pressure

Positiv:: The staff were friendly and the price was fantastic for two nights

Negativ:: showers were the water saving on manual had to turning on was a pain while washing hair and the sensor lights in bedrooms did get trigged at the slightestMovement when some turned over Sleep which woke those on the bottom bunks

Positiv:: Sehr nette und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter. Bequeme Betten mit je zwei Steckdosen, zwei USB Ports und einem einem kleinem Korb für privat Sachen. Recht sauber. Leckere Burger unten im Pub.

Negativ:: Ein Gemeinschaftsraum und eine kleine Küche wären super gewesen!

Positiv:: Great place to stay. I really recommend it :D The place is beautiful, new and clean, the people who work there is very kind. You should have a try!

Positiv:: I always asked for buttom bed which not nearby door sometime had available

Negativ:: Sometime had 7 men and 2 women (including me in the room)

Positiv:: Es war immer jemand vor Ort als Ansprechpartner und waren hilfsbereit. Auch wenn das Hostel außerhalb des Zentrums lag gab es direkt in der nehe Bushaltestellen.

Negativ:: Für mich persönlich gefiel es nicht, das bei der Buchung nicht deutlich war das es Männer und Frauen gemischte Zimmer waren selbst duschen und Wc waren gemischt. Die Betten waren zwar sauber aber sehr eng. Die Bäder und Wc waren dreckig, obwohl jeden Tag eine Putzfrau vor ort war, anscheinend war es nicht ihr Aufgabengebiet Bad und Wc zu säubern. Zum Teil war es sehr laut es wurden keine Nachtruhe Zeiten eingehalten. Bis in die morgen Stunden wurden Muzik gehört oder laut Unterhaltungen durchgeführt.

Positiv:: The staff and the location are the best of the place. Clean blankets and comfortable bed. At the end is a good place to stay.

Negativ:: There is no microwave and fridge. Sometimes people are dirty. It needs bigger lockers and shelfs and at least a bathroom exclusive for woman.

Positiv:: How the staff approach with the people and solve the issues.

Positiv:: Great location. Excellent bar and food downstairs. Excellent value for money

Negativ:: Bathrooms weren’t the cleanest and showers weren’t great.

Positiv:: The staff were really nice and the pub it's self was very nice, the rooms were comfortable enough I suppose reviews will differ depending on who you are sharing a room with but I had no problems and would return

Negativ:: The toilet/shower rooms weren't cleaned often enough I went in one morning and it wasn't clean when I returned at 11pm at night the same mess was there

Positiv:: The breakfast was very good, and the beds were not uncomfortable and the rooms were not overcrowded. Staff moved people if they were noisy/requested it.

Negativ:: Not stayed in a hostel so not sure if were were naïve but we paid for towels and a lock- we saw the pictures of lockers and that linen was provided and assumed that the lockers were lockable and linen included towels- but they were inexpensive. Every time the bedroom door was opened lights on the bottom bunk turned on, no matter what time. I stayed in the middle bed but could imagine that, with people coming in and out all through the night, if it slightly disturbed me then it would have been a bigger disturbance for them.

Positiv:: Location. Beds are comfortable. Always clean linen on the beds.

Negativ:: Bathroom had no toilet paper and the floor was soaked from prrvious user.
