Not goodNegativ: I was told to call a half hour before my pickup, to make sure I was picked up on time. I called at 0930, then again at 1000 and again at 1030 at which time I was put on hold for almost 15 mins then I was told someone would be there to pick me up. Once at the office there were 5 men sitting around a desk laughing, maybe these weren't the men that could have picked me up but it was unprofessional to have the sitting around laughing it up. The car smelled like smoke and was dirty on the inside. Won't go back to that office.
Good Car RentalPositiv: We've used Enterprise a couple of times and have always been happy. The car was what we expected, and it was clean and in good shape. Good value for the money.
Positiv: The workers were nice.Negativ: I did not like that I had a reservation for 4pm but when we showed up an employee had taken our car somewhere and we had to wait 30min or more to get into our vehicle- which ended up putting us an hour behind for our out of town show we were trying to make it to. I did not like that the car only had half a tank of gas when I got it. It also had ashes clearly left in the car from a previous driver. Not in an ash tray just in random places all around.

Positiv: Excellent customer service, despite it being a very busy day they all did everything possible to assist and get me a car as quickly as possible. Will definetly come back.

On the BallPositiv: Very friendly, down to earth staff. Their customer service was on the ball. Plus, the price matched the booking quote - the only surprise was...a free upgrade! It definitely made our Christmas better.Negativ: No complaints.
Computer error on Thanksgiving week, but great cusPositiv: We were upgraded to a nicer vehicle (Toyota Corolla to a Hyundai Santa Fe).
After the computer error both the national Wnterprise office and the local rental location in Flushing were quick to fix the issue and charge us appropriately. Negativ: The upgrade vehicle had worse gas mileage than we had planned on which was significant for a drive of ~2,000 miles.
The "free" upgrade did not include unlimited mileage when all my initial rental paperwork did. We later found out that it is standard for nicer vehicles to not have unlimited mileage. However, this caused some stress at pickup because with our "free" upgrade (because it was the only vehicle on the lot) we were now going to have to pay $.25/mile over the included amount of miles. This would have been over $100 extra for our long trip. *this was all corrected relatively quickly, but after a few phone calls with the national and local office*
Positiv: Caroline and Dave were both very helpful and friendly. And I was in and out quickly on both pickup and return.
Great dealPositiv: The staff at the Enterprise in Jamaica, NY was wonderful. Very helpful.Negativ: Gas was not included in cost of rental. You could opt in at a low price per gallon,but it was still disappointing.
Positiv: Friendliness and service. Negativ: No one told us they closed at 6 p.m. I made it in on time, but it was due to luck--not planning.

More feesPositiv: When searching on Kayak, I thought I had a great deal. $139.00 for the rental. Negativ: When I came out of the dealer I had so many fees and taxes, it came to $223. Way more. I feel - Hertz ripped me off.
Positiv: Good service and good car suitable for its purposeNegativ: The side mirors of this type of car (Nissan Versa) have limited viewing angle, and often other vehicles driving close by cannot be observed.
Terrible experience, never using Hertz againPositiv: Nothing positive to say. This was the worst car rental experience I've ever had.Negativ: When I arrived to pick up my rental car, it was not there and they had no cars of equal or greater size at that location. I ended up having to use a another rental car that someone had just returned (and had not yet been cleaned) to drive an hour back in the direction I originally came from to pick up the rental I had reserved. Hertz knew all day that my car was not going to be there but I never received a phone call letting me know, they had no creative solutions for resolving this before I arrived and offered no extra benefits (free upgrade? No; Discount? No; Credit toward next rental?; No) other than allowing me to return the car to a Hertz location closer to my home. I will NEVER use Hertz ever again!

That was TOO EasyPositiv: The pickup was fast and efficient and any attempts to up-sell me on upgrades / features were both respectable and minimal. The staff was friendly and seemed to really care about whether my needs were being met (within my budget, of course). Negativ: No one called out that the car pickup was INSIDE a hotel. That would have helped me out mentally during the pickup coordination process.
Tire pressure was lowPositiv: People were friendly and helpful enough.Negativ: The tire pressure in the back passenger side tire was low and dealing with that put unnecessary stress in my trip. Also the car they gave me was not the car on the contract. Luckily somebody caught the mistake when I was exchanging the car for the tire pressure issue but it was still a bit disconcerting.
