Poor pick up / great return Positiv: Joel Batista, the gentlemen that I returned the car to was simply amazing. He is very kind and always goes above and beyond to accommodate all clients. Negativ: Ms. Marte, the attendant on duty when I picked up the car was extremely rude, sarcastic and very unprofessional. I have been renting from Ace for years at the same location and every time she is working at the time I pick up my rental she always makes a problem out nothing. I have dealt with many Ace attendant and never had a problem with any of them except for this particular person.
Can't rent from KAYAK Positiv: Nothing. I showed up at the airport and there were absolutely no vehicles available for me to get home at 3:00 am. Thankfully I was traveling with a group and they took me home.Negativ: For the second time in as many trips when I get to the airport at 3:00 am my rental is not available, last April I rented through KAYAK and when I showed up to pick my vehicle all they had for me was a compact car in lieu of the small SVU that I reserved. Not only that, the next day I was responsible for returning the temporary rental back to one of their offices to then pick up my reserved rentals, so basically I wasted my first vacation day dealing with my rental.
This time around, I said okay Alamo is definitely not the way to go so let me try ACE, but little did I know this was going to be even worst. After waiting for over 20 minutes to be helped, I was flat out told that my vehicle was not available and the only car available was a full size SUV that I would have to pay more for and I had to take their insurance as my Credit Card insurance was not enough for me to leave with the vehicle. So, this time around I was literally going to be stranded at the airport at 4:00 am unless I took the terms I was offered. Can you imagine, how I would have felt had this not been my country of origin, or if I wasn't traveling with family members that eventually took me home and helped me get a rental at a different place the very next morning.
I would never, ever in my life rent from KAYAK again.
Negativ: No signs to the airport. Filled the car up before I dropped it off and then the agent told me it was not full. Had to pay almost twice as much than the original reservation price.

Alamo does it again!!Positiv: At least I didn't walk home.Negativ: This is the second attempt at renting a vehicle with Alamo in Santiago, Dominican Republic and it is probably going to be the last.
When I got there with a confirmed reservation they replied that the vehicle wasn't available and that the only vehicle available was a much smaller vehicle than expected. After about an hour of going back and forth with them I decided to take what they were offering because it is all that they had.
Once I got to my he vehicle it was dirty, missing both front mats and the horn wasn't working but it's all about they had so I had to take it.
I called Alamo customer service and they said I could just go and pick up another vehicle at a different location, I tried that but no one had anything available. I was supposed to receive a call from a supervisor and I'm still waiting for that call.
I'm extremely dissatisfied with Alamo and it's employees, this is something I would expect from a small no-name car rental company and not from one of the top companies in the US.
Where is the rental car return Positiv: No signage for rental car drop off anywhere.

Awsome customer service despite I had to wait abouPositiv: The gentlemen were very courteous and apologetic for having me wait over an hour to complete my check in. But the check out was less the 5 minutes. Negativ: The check in system is extremely tedious and long.
Unsatisfied with AlamoPositiv: Return representative did a good job. Car ran well except for 2 warning lights lit on dash board.Negativ: Check in Representative refused to accept the car insurance - Allianz - that I bought on your site. Insisted I pay $180 in additional insurance! and refused to rent me the car until I paid.
Car was covered in dents and scratches. Two engine lights were lit.
Will not use Alamo again.
Positiv: Horrible when I got there with the reservation they told me that they don't have any car for me. Negativ: Never rent at car from that company Alamo. I got to Dr at 2:00 am and they just told me we don't have any car for you. And I show then my reservation.
Poor Customer Serviced Negativ: Arrived at Santiago, Dominican Republic. Was told that I needed to pay a libality insurance which it was not noted on the reservation of 10.00 dollars per days. Had several issues with the car which they provided upon arrival. When I arrived to Puerto plata I needed change the vechile due to strut wasn't working. They provided me with another model which had 86,000 miles. The quality of service was poor. Again changing the Suv the following day was given a small size by Luis and called a liar not the service which I expected. I rented with Saving after I cancelled Alamo and receive amazing service. Thank You Saving for your amazing customer service.
Negativ: I didn't like the fact that I have to pay a assurance moore expensive that the cost a the vehicles rental that was ridiculous I paid 140 for tree days rental and another hundred something in assurance that was too much I did try to get a assurance from u,s and they didn't let me so I didn't have options they force me to get they assurance which was super expensive.

No one at the counterPositiv: The only thing I liked was that the vehicle was at the terminal, That's it.Negativ: At the time of pickup the agent was really aggressive on trying to sell me additional coverage that I didn't want, at one point he suggested that I was being cheap, which I thought it was very unprofessional.
At the time of drop off, no one was at the counter, another agent from a different car rental company was able to get in touch with the agent for Avis and told that person to tell me that he was going to be there in 5 minutes, 45 minutes later, still no show, I had to leave the paperwork and keys at his desk so that I wouldn't miss my flight.

When he finally came around he mixed up my name and left after I told him I wasn't "Ruben" then he came back around when he called back and noticed he had the reservations mixed up. Secondly I bought and reserved everything online including insurance. So I had 2 insurance policy's, one from my credit card and the additional and only option you can buy online. Once at the counter he was forcing me to buy THEIR insurance for some bogus reason about not being covered for third party which was untrue. The whole wait time and trying to scam me into purchase additional coverage for no reason I decided to go with a different company that gave me a better price while I was waiting for his pickup. Horrible experience, tons of wasted time and not transparent with prices.

Never showed upPositiv: When we booked our car with economy, there was no mention of the fact that the office was outside of the airport. We went up to the 12 desks of rental cars and asked where the Economy desk was located and one of the reps explained that a rep will meet you outside. We went outside and no one was there, so we went back k. After a couple of calls and another unsuccessful attempt to link up with Economy outside the airport, we decided to go back in and book with another car rental company (as thankfully cars were available). We had to pay over double the price of what we reserved on Economy. Terrible experience!

Pickup in SantiagoPositiv: It was easy to get to and it was fast to pick up the car. They also offer a wifi hotspot instead of GPS which we loved. The whole two days we had the rental we had access to wifi to use google maps and to be connected to our family abroad. Negativ: There was an airport tax applied to our reservation that was not part of our original booking. It was about an extra $10 so it wasn't a big deal, but I would have preferred to know all associated fees upfront.

Another guy rented the same way, was supposed to pay $249 and with the insurance price went up to $460. #ridiculous
