The staff was very friendly and accommodating at the front desk, restaurants, housekeeping, and pool. Room was big and it was nice getting bottled water every day. Food at the restaurant (lunch) was surprisingly good and sitting outside by the bay was enjoyable. Overall, the facility was "tired" and is in need of renovations. Especially, the pool area lounges and chairs were old and stained. We prefer fitted sheets (which these were not) and carpets throughout the hotel (room, elevator, halls) need attention. We were told by one of the maintenance personnel who was in our room to fix a sliding shutter door, that the hotel was be remodeled within the next 3 months which is encouraging. Location was somewhat of a catch-22. It was nice being on the harbor but you really couldn't walk anywhere to shop or eat. Must have car if you want to go anywhere off site. Overall, we had a good time.
Our room had such a great view of the bay. It was very relaxing and quiet. We kept the balcony doors open almost the whole time! The staff was very polite and accommodating whenever we asked for anything. The first room we were put in, the shutters were broken and would not close for privacy. As soon as I called down, they had someone come up and move us 5 doors down within minutes. The staff was very polite and helpful.
Good location. They are charging you for a bottle of red wine that is in your room. They tell you as they are giving you the key that it's included in the price - well we didn't drink the wine nor did we want to pay for it. It doesn't matter that if you don't want it - you are paying for it anyway, how ridiculous!
Heat didn't work. Charged $28 for parking without alerting us in advance. Room was completely standard of any hotel. Room service forgot our dressing, and the food was subpar
Great room on marina. It took over an hour to check in. Hotel did not have my Kayak reservation right and I had to spend a lot of time on the phone getting it straight. Also, make sure you get a room with a water view.
Rooms are very nice with 4 star amenities. mix of families, locals and travelers First night room was noisy due to being close to event space. They switched rooms for me next night with an upgrade and waved resort fee. Very professional and accommodating staff.
Friendly Staff, Great Location, Comfortable and very clean room with well stocked bathroom and very good breakfast. Having to pay for car parking as it was stated on my original booking that guest parking was free.
Location, seconds away from the beach and easy exsit to freeways. cleanliness, room cleaned daily and well stocked with towels. front desk was friendly and helpful. Our room faced the beach and had a view of the marina. Compliment Breakfest had a decent spread for being free. Parking was a little tight some nights. Near the 1 FWY can get some traffic noise
Location is right in the middle of everything. Park the car and walk where you want. 3pm check seems late in the day for check. In addition our room was not even ready at 3.
I loved that it was so close to the ocean yet felt like being in a home. The room was big and comfortable. The staff were friendly and it was nice to have breakfast in the morning, too.
The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. I couldn't breathe. There was no air circulation. I could not sleep. When I went to check out, they could not confirm the cost and said I should check my credit card bill.
Nice area to behind the hotel to walk. Larger room size Service was somewhat lacking. I stayed 3 nights. My room was never serviced by the cleaning crew after I checked in. Mattress was very firm and not very comfortable. Hotel nickel and dimes for everything. Self parking was $22 a night. Hotel Concierge wanted to charge me an additional $20 a night when I (a solo traveller) requested a king bed upon arrival instead of two queens, even though the hotel was half empty and the published rates of the king rooms were $35 less a night than the nightly rate I had paid for my stay.
Excellent service. Staff were very helpful and friendly!
We enjoyed the beds. We had a great night sleep.
Staff, always professional always polite. Pool fantastic, Spa clean and warm. I loved the Bed, super cloud pillow topped, room clean. Bathroom luxury, from soaps to towels good size. 24/7 always staff on hand. Had starbucks in hotel foyer. Blackout curtains kept morning sun at bay. My 71 yr old mother did not enjoy the pillow top beds, suggested they smothered her. Could hear some trucks on highway braking in mornings and night. It is geared for business, so appeared everything has an additional cost per unit.
Good location, since it's close to the airport. Facility is extremely outdated, room was tiny and noisy. Parking is an additional $22 per day, which is robbery. I suggest you stay at the Irivne Wyndam instead.
This hotel is in a perfect location and the price is unbeatable. The hotel rooms are the same rooms you'd get at a 4 star hotel without all the resort fees and 50 dollars a night to park your car. Parking here is 7 dollars in and out privileges. They have free breakfast every morning. Nothing
It was only 1 block to the beach. Beach chairs, umbrellas & sand toys available at the desk, and of course parking. Full breakfast to get you ready for a day at the beach. A little ways away from Newport Pier and activity. Breakfast area was a little small.
Nothing I started my period during the night and got a little blood on the sheets and they charged my credit card $150 without even telling me for "damage" to the room. It was extremely offensive and I will never stay here again. I am NOT happy.
Proximity to beach. Stayed facing the street side and it was loud.
We live in fullerton and stayed here in Newport and loved it. The beach was great. It was detached enough to not be too close to the very loud Newport area further south. Overall great trip.
I chose the Bay Shores Peninsula on a whim, and boy was that a good gamble! The place is really quaint, staff is amazingly kind and attentive, and our room was perfect. There's not a lot of space in the rooms that goes to waste, nice sized closet with small fridge and safe, bathroom clean and well appointed, they even had a little nook turned into a dressing table for us ladies, complete with plugs and a coffeemaker. Good TV plus on demand channels and a wall of DVD movies in the lobby you can borrow. The rooftop lounge area is perfect for morning coffee or evening wine. The breakfast buffet was nice, quite a few choices and good coffee to boot. Plus they make fresh cookies every day, I mean really, it's like visiting family. Parking was a little lacking because there is construction happening, but that is truly out of their control and the staff helps out with that piece as much as they can. We will definitely be back!
The Bay Shore Peninsula Hotel is probably the friendless hotel we have ever stayed at, if not #1 it's tied for #1. Extremely convenient to the beach, shopping, dozens of restaurants and whatever you might need are probably within walking distance.
