Super friendly servicePositiv: The employees at the Pittsburgh airport Alamo were incredibly friendly and helpful when my wife and I rented an SUV. We were so impressed by how genuine they were. Maureen at the desk in particular was a pleasure to work with. We would definitely rent from here again!

Good experiencePositiv: The rental process was painless and quick. The people were friendly and courteous. The rental area is really convenient due to it being right outside of the baggage claim area. This doesn't have anything to do with Avis specifically, but it made for an easier rental experience with Avis in Pittsburgh. The car was better than I expected, in good shape, etc. The return process was easy and fast.Negativ: Nothing that I can think of.
Positiv: The rep, Desiree, was so friendly and helpful. I had booked to the wrong location in PIT and she took care of it very quickly and really so warmly. Negativ: The line took quite a while to move through before I got there. Not sure what took so long.
All good until drop offPositiv: Pickup was easy and smooth.Negativ: Drop off: When I arrived at my dropoff location the lady told me I would be charged $200 for bring it to the wrong location. Turned out the Avis in Pittsburgh gave me the wrong car that was reserved for someone else, and because of this I had to pay for their mistake. I called customer service right after and fixed the fiasco, but I will not be getting my refund for up to 14 days. The lady at the drop off in Rome,NY was also not helpful.
Poor customer service.Negativ: I requested an SUV a week in advance because I needed the space inside the vehicle to transport two bicycles. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, the girl at the desk told me she didn't have an SUV, that I could have a sedan. There was no attempt to call me in advance to inform me of the situation, and she had an "it's somebody else's fault attitude. There was an SUV available at a location closer to my home, and had I received a call, I could have gone there. I don't think I'll be renting from Avis again any time soon.

Do Not Try To Ask A Simple QuestionPositiv: Overall, everything was good, excellent even.Negativ: Actual pick-up and drop off were excellent, the problem I had was in the drop-off: Orlando International Airport has two terminals, different airlines in each. I did not know if this applied to the car rentals as well. Your system makes it very hard to get to talk with a person, as this question would not apply to the voice operating system. Very frustrating while in traffic driving around the airport, to the point that I doubt I'll use you again. I.E., if I choose to talk with an operator DO NOT program the computer operator to persist in it's attempt to service me. I have no aversion to using the computer operator, I just knew it could not help.
It was a good rental in a good car with good mileaPositiv: The car was a big smooth Sonata sedan. It provided fantastic gas mileage running around 37mpg on the highway. Negativ: No complaints.

Educate your customer servicePositiv: I liked to size and comfort of the Jeep when I received it was also clean.Thats about it for my positive points.Negativ: First of all what the heck are all the charges??you can get the car for a great price but them $70 of surcharges is outrageousI!! No one to ask questions when you get in the car and by the way check your car for damage there were several dings when we checked it, don't want to be blamed for them. As I got on the road i noticed the etoll box, i thought perfect but how does it work. I called the customer service and the gentleman James said all you do is go through the toll and it activated it, simple right? I asked is there any fee he said NO, you just pay the toll when you return online at etoll When I returned the car I asked the man who greeted me. he was rude said he didn't know budget has nothing to do with it.He did say if you open the box to activate it you can use it. HUMM?? I didn't know this so I went through ezpass and it was never activated???He said I don't know cant tell you and they don't know inside either as I said I would ask them. So I went inside to the desk. I think the same two rocks were sitting there all weekend same spots. No customer service here either they didn't know how it worked they said I had to take care of it at etoll, they didn't know how it worked.HUMM, your rental, a service is offered in your car, but noone properly knows how it workd.Called customer service again, they couldn't help me this time, they gave me the number to etoll byw the desk didn't have it.They then also told me there was a $3.95 a day charge to use it and I would be billed in 4-6 weeks, there was no going online to pay it now. WHAT A MESS!! I would not know the charges until they are posed to my card as well.I can say the woman Porsha at etoll was great she was very helpful and calmed me down. She is going to refund the $3.95 that they did not tell me about and I am to contact her when the charges post which she will email me these charged as well. NOTE TO ALL: FIST IMPRESSION and WORD OF MOUTH is your biggest selling point in sales. HERE"S MY OPINION ON THIS...DON't pick BUDGET RENT A CAR. I NEVER WILL AGAIN!!
No car at pick up and unsafe to driveNegativ: My pickup was scheduled for 6 pm, and when I arrived at 6 the office was closed. The only Budget office still open was the airport and the were sold out of cars. So I had to wait until the next morning to pick up a car, forcing me to cancel appointments for the next morning.
When I finally picked up the car the next morning they neglected to fill the windshield wiper fluid. It had recently snowed, and my windshield got so dirty on the turnpike that I couldn't see except for through one spot. It was extremely dangerous driving to the next rest stop where I purchase wiper fluid of my own. I am extremely disappointed.

Positiv: Car was ready when I needed to pick-up and drop off was effortless. Negativ: The car smelled like cigarettes when I picked it up and had cigarette burns on the seat between the legs on the driver's side. Every time I turned the AC on the smell of stale cigarettes would re-circulate.
Left my family, including our four autistic children, stranded.Negativ: I requested a minivan, specifically because I knew it was the only type of car that would work for my family and all of our bags. I got through the whole heck in process without being told that they didn't actually have a minivan. The budget employee handed me the keys and told me it was a Kia Sorrento. I asked if that was a minivan and she responded that it was a "7-passenger vehicle." I asked again, and again, she refused to directly answer the question. I told her I couldn't take anything other than the minivan we reserved, due to my kids' needs and the number of bags we had. She had no interest in helping us. So there we were, with our four young children with autism, stranded at the airport after a difficult red-eye fight, left to figure out a solution on our own, with kids melting down and everything. It was bad enough that they didn't have the minivan I reserved, but the unhelpful employee made a bad situation worse. I will never rent a car from Budget again.

FLight delayed, Dollar closes anywayPositiv: nothingNegativ: bad weather in Chicago cancelled our flight and delayed they flight we were rebooked onto. We called Dollar. They asked us for the flight # and said someone would stay until out flight arrived. Our flight came in at 2am and Dollar had closed, leaviing no way for us to get our car. When we called them at 2am, they said: come back when we open at 6am. We cancelled our reservation and took a very expensive taxi ride to get to our destination.
We will never use Dollar again.

I thought I paid a bit too much for the type of vehicle. It had very stiff suspension and I felt every crack oin the pavement.
Positiv: The gentleman at checkin and the lady at the return garage were super, very friendly, helpful, and cordial....so nice for a change because often times in Pittsburgh, service providers have a gigantic chip on their shoulders, I've noticed that about that region as I travel the country a lot...but John at the counter and the 20+ employee (regrettably I don't recall her name) were both super, would hire them for my team in a heartbeat. I will definitely rent from Dollar again. A true step above when it comes to personal and pleasant service.Negativ: Didn't care much for the Ford product, so will try something else next time :)
Terrible!Positiv: Nothing about it...Negativ: Wouldn't rent it to me because of bogus reasons. Your staff said you guys were out of cars because I missed the pick up time. Yet my flight was booked before I booked a rental. Uncontrollable. Never heard of a airport rental car place being out of cars. But I understood what it was from the gate. Not the first time I experienced discrimination!!!

Drove nice,had XM sat radio.Got good mileage.Negativ: Who ever rented care before me was a smoker.I could smell the smoke even though the company must of sprayed something to mask smell.
I also didn't like the fact that there was NO owners manual in car,why do rental companies take these out.I had to learn controls by trial and error.
Positiv: John at the counter and Tawnya at check in were very helpful. We will come back to Dollar thanks to them.

Good value for money if you stay alert Positiv: The car I got was in a very good shape and the service on return of the car was just great, friendly and easy to handle. Negativ: I ordered a SUV and sure enough there was no SUV availible on arrival. I took the van they offered me instead and the car was very ok.
As usual they staff on the counter tried to sell all possible insurance packages and the price went up from 201$ to 478$. The mood of the staff on the counter changed after I explained that I dont need any of the insurance and they had to change all back to the initial 201$ offer.

Mass confusion on pick upPositiv: Not muchNegativ: Went to the counter and waited for a customer while only one of the two representatives worked. The other just played on her phone. Then we got our turn and was sent to space 230 for the car. It was freezing. No car in stall. Stood outside in cold while another representative half helped and gave another care that was just returned, covered in a sheet of ice and mud all over the inside of car. Then made it hard to do more paperwork to take car. Too cold outside for me and my wife for almost 1/2 hour. Very disappointed.
Negativ: We were expecting a suburban and given a smaller SUV. We have 4 carseats and 2-3 suitcases when we fly so need to be able to fit 6 AND suitcases. Several of the offered vehicles weren't able to accommodate that due to a center counsel. Would like a guaranteed way to secure a suburban rental.
Hertz personnel were slow and disrespectfulPositiv: Car was fineNegativ: When I arrived at the airport to pick up the car, the interaction at the desk was fine then it ended up taking ~30 minutes to get the car during which I was told it was because there was snow on the car, because the workers in the garage were "stupid" all the while I listened to the guy behind the counter begin to get angry and frustrated which was absurd as I was the one waiting. I will not use Hertz again because paying almost $300 for that kind of service is despicable.

I wasn't able to use my reservation!Positiv: Not much.Negativ: So I booked and prepaid for a rental car from Hertz through Kayak for the Pittsburgh Airport, but after we landed and I got to the Hertz counter, Hertz informed me my reservation was for downtown Pittsburgh! 25 miles away! Because it was prepaid, Hertz couldn't/wouldn't change it, so we called the booking site. They couldn't/wouldn't change it either! Luckily it was only for a day rental and I was out the $39. Nothing ANYONE could do... I still needed a car so I asked at Hertz and the new price from Hertz was now $109 for the day! Really!? You gonna screw me out of $39 and then ask for $109 for a day!?
I walked one counter over to Budget... the nice guy worked me a rate for $38 for the day!
I rarely use Hertz and I now remember why. Never using them again! Never prepaying again. Never booking through a third party again. I think I'm just going to go directly to the Budget web site from now on...

Negativ: Pitt is the only airport I've been to where Hertz gold still required going to the counter and waiting in line to pick up your car. Also, there is no gas station on the airport exit before the rental car turn in, and once you turn in, they will not let you leave to refuel the car, insisting you pay their absurd markup on fuel charges. Overall, the worst rental car experience I've ever had, would strongly advise against Pittsburgh in general or this Hertz location.
Booked at the wrong location and no one could help meNegativ: Apparently when I booked, it was for a downtown Hertz location, instead of the airport location. The airport location couldn't help me at all. So I went over to Budget and they got me a car and on my way.

Easy and quick!Positiv: Checking in at the counter was super easy - drivers license, a question about fueling the car and another about insurance and we were done at the counter! No pressure to ourchas ethe insurance. Easy access to the car out of one of the airport doors. Had a couple of minivans to choose from. Returning the car was even easier, pull in, let them check the mileage and the fuel level, and receipt in hand. They had luggage carts for us to use at no charge. Highly recommend!

Rental car use from PIT to MorgantownPositiv: I liked both the service at the counter and at pickup location - very helpful, esp. the person who helped me find the car.Negativ: I'm really not that picky but the car itself rode a little 'rough' and the floor mats could've used a good wipe. Other than that, it was really fine.
Negativ: We reserved a toddler seat over the phone. They did NOT tell us they may or may not have seats-otherwise I would have brought our own car seat. So they luckily had one infant seat left, and we took that (although it was obviously too small for our daughter) They should just make it clear to parents that car seats are not guaranteed to be at the facility.

The overhead lights didn’t work - apparently there’s a dashboard setting that turns them off but they should be on when the car is rented out.
