Ripped off again in Scotland.Negativ: I was ripped off again. The second time this has happened to me in Glasgow, UK. At the end of the rental, I was charged for scratches on the wheel rim which I did not cause. All of the wheels had scrapes and scratches on them. The person checking me in only looked at ONE rim and pointed out several scratches which he said "looked new". They charged me GBP 120.00 for the scratches, and a GBP 55.00 fee for "damage processing". How ridiculous. I am going to contest these charges, because I did not drive up on curbs or otherwise damage this rim. I only parked in the hotel parking lot and at the COSTCO parking lot, both of which had parking slots and no curbs.
Positiv: The car itself was great. Negativ: The site says the office is in the terminal. It was not. Just a Hirt walk. But still misleading. The wait to pick up the car was long. It cost way more than the original quote. And the directions for drop off were easily missed. I found it more by luck than by following the roadside directions.
Positiv: The Peugeot 308 handled well and was large enough to be comfortable for three people and luggage. We drove it around for two weeks in England and Scotland. The staff at the Glasgow airport were knowledgeable and friendly, though service was a little slow due to many customers.

The car itself was great.Negativ: The rental was MUCH more costly than what was advertised and the bill that came afterwards was very hard to understand. They press you to add insurance and then there are increased taxes and fees that you don't know about. The bill was about 25% more than we were expecting. Pretty frustrating... and expensive.

Didn't have car, extra feesPositiv: The first person I met seemed to want to be helpful (but she handed me over to another)Negativ: They didn't even have the car we booked (7 person) on site, despit having booked it weeks in advance. They gave us a 5 person car, tried to tell us it was better than the one we booked and if we wanted the 7-seater we would have to come back to the airport at night and hopefully one would be ready. Then they added extra fees for "minimum required legal insurance", saying we were quoted the wrong amount because we booked on the US site (we have French drivers licenses). Disappointing.
Terrible customer service at Glasgow Negativ: Guy at counter rude. Woman at parking lot lied about petrol tank level.
Misleading online estimatePositiv: Car was clean and comfortable. Glasgow airport is fairly simple to get in and out of car rental area.Negativ: Upsaling left and right - apparently prepurchasing the insurance with Kayak was insufficient. Also some how the model car we were upgraded to didn't have GPS so yet another upcharge.
The reservation was for ~$150 online, final charges were nearly $450!
Positiv: The car was good and quite new. The counter was helpful. Negativ: The price was very much more expensive than what I have seen in Kayak advertised. Not value for money, should have reflected when I booked in Internet.

Thankfully we didn't prepay! Went to enterprise instead and ended up being over $20 cheaper anyway and a lot better car

Quoted for $80, paid over $500!Negativ: So many hidden fees! To get there low rate, they have to charge the entire value of the car on a credit card, and since we didn't have a $50,000 limit, we paid out the nose. WORST CAR RENTAL EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD!!

Easirent Ripped Me OffPositiv: The car was nice, but not equivalent to what I reservedNegativ: The company didn't hold the car for me beyond the time I said we would arrive. I had to rent a different car for over $700 more than what I had originally reserved. They then claimed I had damaged the car when I returned it, and charged me another $350. I wouldn't use this company again. Worst experience renting a car I ever had.
At Glasgow airport I walked all the way to the rental center, only to find out that Eisirent wasn't represented there. Was told by the helpful people that I had to call them to be picked up. Had to find a phone number for the local branch. Was then told to go all the way back and wait at Parking Garage 2. Sat there a long time until thier driver came from the opposite direction and said I was supposed to wait on the park's other side......
When I asked the representative during pickup why all this wasn't detailed in the confirmation email, he said it was Kayak's responsibility, and that Kayak is known to be problematic.....
I countered that if Eisirent wants a smooth and welcoming process for its customers, Eisirent itself should send an email regarding pickup, especially since they are aware that Kayak doesn't do it. He had no answer.....
No spare tyre in the car. Was told to call them in case of need. Of course, according to Murphy's Law, the next day had a flat tyre.....out of the blue.
Called them. Was transferred four times. Waiting + towing + replacing took 4 !!!! hours. With a spare tyre it would have taken 14 minutes..............

Nightmare from start to finishPositiv: Nothing.Negativ: Our flight was two hours late so the car we reserved was gone, and we were told only a luxury SUV was available. The cost quoted when I made the online reservation was $140 USD and we ended up paying Over $500 USD after all of their ridiculous charges were tacked on. When we returned the car they claimed we caused a "bulge" in the tire from hitting a pot hole and charged us $350 USD for it. I will certainly be fighting the charges. This rental company is a scam from start to finish. Please rent elsewhere to avoid the headache of dealing with them.
Being charged 1400£ for the tiniest tire tread tearPositiv: Comfortable new car that was reliable. But...Negativ: Upon return they point out a tiny tear in the drivers side tire. I'm talking 1cm deep and 3cm wide, in the tread (not side wall). Was told it would be a discussion but by the time I got off my flight home I had been charged $2000CAD and was only left a 30 second voicemail. Unbelievable.
Debit card use challengesNegativ: When you use a debit card you have to provide two recent utility bills or other prrof of address. That can be challenging for someone from abroad. Was resolved through use of internet and electronic bills, but caused a delay.

That Corsa was dangerous. Positiv: Staff were courteous enough and once the airport shuttle arrived to get me, i wasnt kept waiting too long. The shuttle did take almost half an hour to show up though. Negativ: Car was dangerous. Felt like it had been in an accident, didn't track straight. Aquaplaned and veered out on control when encountering even the smallest amount of standing water at relatively low speeds. I was genuinely concerned for my safety.
Charged nearly £50 for a young drivers' fee for being 6 months under 25. Not advertised ANYWHERE other (quoted £38.50) than in the small print. Very unhappy overall.

That I shouldn't even take this car on the motorway since it's too small. That I'll get bad mileage and will pay more in fuel with such a small car. All of these being lies. Also was told I MUST return the car empty. When I tried to ask why she said "that's how we do it here". Later realizing I'd paid for a tank of gas upfront she never mentioned. Terrible experience with this agent and understand upselling, but not bold faced lies and misleading.

He just said oh, okay! Then he started the car and used the windshield wiper fluid and said "yep, it stinks" and then handed us out receipt and walked away!
