Very kind service Positiv: The service I received was so friendly and kind.Negativ: The signage indicating where the office was in the airport was not clear at all from outside of the building.
No agent- Awful ExperienceNegativ: When we arrived from our flight the Avis agent was not there. Agents from other rental car companies told us, and other travelers, that the Avis agent decided to go home early. We were there before the counter closed at 9:30 pm.
I will never rent from Avis again!
month long rentalPositiv: Great brand new Chevy malibu. Turns off when car is stops and comes back to life when break is let off - great mileage.
Positiv: They closed down before quitting time. It was horrid.
Positiv: The price they quote is the price you pay. In, out and you are done. Return was easy as well. Negativ: Wrong windshield wipers were installed. Had to pay for new ones. Made it inconvenient to resolve issue.

Very confusedNegativ: We rented the car - went to pick it up and he said he didn't have a reservation under my name. Showed him the reservation receipt email - he then said I don't have a car available. Then something came up where he thought he had one - with a cracked windshield. He said he'd give us a discount. Tried to rent that one out but there was a hold on it. He said ok, I can get another car let me have your card. I had my debit card. Said it wouldn't pass the credit check. He said my credit must be bad. !!! My husband tried his - same thing. We don't have credit cards. We have rented numerous times with our debit cards, never with an issue. I have now been charged for the insurance. This car rental was for a very important occasion. Extremely upset and very confused.

Horrible customer service in Santa Rosa Positiv: I was surprised how nice the Ford Focus wasNegativ: Customer service representative at pick up in Santa Rosa could have cared less. I asked for a drop off in on place and he put another on the contract without telling me. It was very inconvenient. I called to complain and there was nothing they could do and they offered no help or restitution

Poor serviceNegativ: Budget did not have a full size SUV as reserved. The woman at the counter was only interested in upselling me to a Mercedes SUV. She offered me a "fantastic deal" of only an additional $85/day rather than $165 extra/per day because they didn't have the car I reserved available. I wasted almost an hour at the budget counter and there was no resolution. I ended up walking away and renting from another counter.
Positiv: The pick up was smooth and quick. The car was so cute and worked great for me. Had plenty of features for an economy car.

Not Clean, Not Clean!!!Negativ: The car seemed as if it hadn't been cleaned from the last occupant. I found paper wrappers and other detritus in the back seat and trunk. The windows and side view mirrors had been poorly cleaned and were a big distraction driving on the road.
Not very happy with my rental experiencePositiv: The counter agents were very nice and the cars are super close to the terminal.Negativ: There was a very loud clunking sound that came from what I assume was the transmission. It was disconcerting - I was afraid that I would be stranded 25 miles north of the airport. Also, I guess I should have been more knowledgeable, but I was charged a whole day rental fee for being 30 minutes later than the time the counter agent reminded me that I was turning it in. He did not mention that that was beyond the "grace period" The person to whom I gave the contract didn't say anything - the charge just showed up on my credit card.

Staff ServicePositiv: Initially the only car available was not satisfactory. Staff went out of their way to find a Toyota Camry which we first selected. The car was in perfect condition and served us well on our travels to Long Beach, CA.
Check-in staff were friendly and helpful. Overall it was an excellent rental experience.

GoodPositiv: Pick-up attendant was very accommodating after we realized that I had accidentally selected a different location. Negativ: There was a discrepancy at drop off related to whether I had accepted liability coverage. I was told the pick-up location would call to resolve it and help me get an accurate receipt. That has not happened and when I called their phone number, I am unable to get through to anyone

Totally DisgustedNegativ: I was visiting another state. When I went to pick up this car, there was no Hertz Car Rentsl at the address given. I had a lengthy phone conversation with your CS people who promised to cancel the reservation. I had no choice but to go to the airport and rent a car. Now I see that the charge went through for the initial rental and, so I have paid TWICE for a car rental. Obviously, I am not happy with this service and would not use it again or recommend it to anyone. This was an error on your company’s part and the charge should be reversed. Thank you for doing the right thing.

Location Closed When I was Scheduled to pick up vehiclePositiv: Nothing.Negativ: I had a reservation to pick up my rental car at 12:00pm on Saturday. My flight landed at 11:44am. We tried to checked in with the rental location and they were closed. Why would they accept a reservation for a time that they were not open? They were not scheduled to open again until Monday morning. They also tried to charge me for the vehicle rental although I was not able to pick up the car. Hertz corporate office was not friendly or cooperative, but I was able to convince them to credit my account for the car I couldn't pick up. They tried to charge me a cancellation fee. They should have to pay me a cancellation fee since they were the ones that did not allow me to pick up the car I had reserved in advance.

Some good, some not so goodPositiv: Pickup and Dropoff was easy. Car was Toyota Corolla equivalent - a Chevy Cruz which was easy to drive. Car was clean and full of gas. The air conditioning was great.Negativ: There was only one woman at the desk, and the guys were standing around chatting while she was taking care of customers and the phones.There was no washing fluid in the windshield washer - only water which was useless against road grime and bugs.
