Positiv: We ended up liking Fiats...everything else was completely dominated & overshadowed by a level of customer service difficult to describe...
Negativ: Let's be clear the car, a Fiat, was an outstanding auto, but---
How this company gets away with its level of customer service is stunning...to start the up-selling at time of pick-up, no matter how friendly, is manipulative & simply a money grab; but then---we had a terrifying incident where we forced into a wall by an oncoming motorcycle who appeared to do it on purpose; car was scraped & dented; repeated phone calls to Europcar went to voice mail with NO response to messages; repeated emails were ignored except 2 weeks later we got their standard "difficult question, need time to answer" response, which they always eventually send no matter the question; [I'm still waiting for a response to one I sent in January!!]......of course there was no one in the office to talk with when we dropped the car off in Florence, but I think they will blame that on our "early" flight time, 9:55am...and today we got the bill: after renting the car for a month for 221 euros plus liability insurance, [plus other difficult-to-understand charges], our final bill is 1708 euros...it is going to take longer than our vacation lasted just to figure out the bill!!
Car drop off point so poorly signposted - we nearly missed our flight!
Positiv: Great value, easy pick up
Negativ: The car drop off is very badly signposted and easily missed - which made an otherwise good experience almost turn into a nightmare!
2 hour wait to collect car
Positiv: Friendly staff. Upgraded car for free.
Negativ: Understaffed Europcar desk. Unacceptable 2 hour wait time to collect vehicle. Otherwise no issues.
2cm Scratch
Negativ: Being charged 300€ + 90€ processing fee?! For a 2cm scratch the car had a much bigger scratch when we picked it up and the door would not close properly. So Europcar is not spending the funds it receives to repair their vehicles. And a clearly arbitrary system of damage fees.
Positiv: Really liked how close it was to the Napoli train station. Everything went smoothly
Negativ: Maybe have a larger/better signs pointing out the location
2 cm Kratzer
Negativ: 300€ + 90€ Bearbeitungsgebühr berechnet?! Bei einem Kratzer von 2 cm hatte das Auto einen viel größeren Kratzer, als wir es abholten, und die Tür wurde nicht richtig geschlossen. Europcar gibt also nicht die Mittel aus, die er für die Reparatur seiner Fahrzeuge erhält. Und ein eindeutig willkürliches System von Schadensgebühren.
Positiv: hat mir wirklich sehr gut gefallen dass es in der Nähe zum Bahnhof Napoli ist. Alles verlief reibungslos
Negativ: Vielleicht ein größere/bessere Schilder die auf den ort hinweisen
