Positiv: The pick up was close by but I didnt realize it would not be at the airport. The sign is super small and if your not looking for it you would miss the pick up spot. Our group waited over 30 minutes before they finally picked us up.
Positiv: A good initial price, but was then increased when they forced me to buy insurance before I could get the keys. The vehicle was in excellent shape and clean.
Negativ: The pickup experience was very frustrating and I will not use this company again.
Negativ: The car’s front end rattled the whole time. Alignment was off pulling to the right. Drivers door made a rattle like a can of beans the whole time we drove over 60mph. The car was dirty when we received it and had over 10 chips in the windshield. Worst rental I’ve ever had.
Positiv: The car was ready when I arrived
Negativ: I was charged more than what my quoted price was, costing me nearly $100 more than anticipated. Car had a broken rear windshield, no ice scraper, and a slow tire leak in the middle of winter.
Positiv: One lady was super helpful and nice, the rest of the staff I interacted with seemed like they hated everything. The second van I received was in excellent condition on the inside, though dented on the outside.
Negativ: Ended up being about 25% more than the quoted reservation cost with no explanation given. Inconvenient pickup/drop off location, at least for transit/walking. Took a very long time to pickup and drop off despite being the only customer there. First van they were going to give me was FULL of trash in the back. Second one was fine. Otherwise rude staff. put a huge hold on your card, mileage limit for IL residents - they do tell you this upfront when you’re there but it’s a bit sneaky if you’re reserving through a third party site like this. Some other stuff I can’t even think of right now cuz I’m trying to push the whole ordeal out of my head. It was pretty darn cheap though.
Negativ: We thought we were getting a great deal on a car rental for two weeks. When we arrived at the business to pick up our car, we were charged over $120 more than our initial payment. The reason was (at first) that they had to come and pick us up from the airport. When we pressed into why, the next reason they gave us was because we should have reserved the car through a third party like Expedia. Which we did-through Kayak. The NEXT reason they gave us for charging us so much more was that we came through the airport. Which made zero sense because that's where I filled all the information out at the time of making the reservation.
We then asked to see the manager and someone else came out to talk to us. When we asked the woman if she was the manager she said, "well, kind of, but not really, I just help the manager." We then asked again to see the manager. She went back to get him and came back to us and said the manager refused to see us and would not come out front. We then cancelled our reservation. As we were trying to find an Uber to get to another car rental location, another customer was going through the same run around and was being charged over $100 than what all her paperwork said.
We call this unethical and bad business and will never recommend this company.
Positiv: Cheap price
Negativ: A clean car with all the body parts. Clearer information regarding closing time up front instead of at counter.
Negativ: I reserved a car to pick up at the O'Hare airport and was told my pick up was for Midway airport so I was left to rent from a different company and paid twice the price.
Positiv: nothing. THis was the worst rental company ever. Do not rent from them ever.
Negativ: The company charged me more than the rate I booked through Kayak and refused to honor the rate. Also, they said they have a policy that limits people who rent cars from the same state as them to 350 miles per day vs. unlimited, which is what I booked in my contract. The whole "bait and switch" thing was shady and probably illegal. Also, when I got the car home and started loading stuff into it, I realized the car had never been cleaned. There were food crumbs all over the third row, with dirty napkins and drink cups. The irony is that they made me initial something saying that if I smoked or had a pet in the car, I would need to pay $199 for cleaning but they don't even clean out the cars in between customers. I had to vacuum the car myself before going on my trip.
Negativ: This is an unethical company. They did not honor their written rental confirmation and left me stranded without a rental car at Midway Airport, and nearly every other car rental company was without vehicles. They provided no justification for failing to live up to their written commitment. Avoid this company!
Positiv: The driver from the rental shuttle stop to their off- offsite location was congenial.
Negativ: Tires on van were truly bald. Had it not been a cool weekend we woulda had a blow out. Not exaggerating—they had like 0-1 42nds left on them. Van was dirty, lots of stains on light gray fabric seats. Had no head rests in middle row, they’d been removed. We drove it all over middle of Illinois from Chicago and it was not comfortable or safe in the back for our kids without anything to rest head on/protect neck in middle row.
Positiv: Nothing. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with the rental car agency.
Negativ: They could have the van I rented. Instead I had to then take a shuttle back to the terminal and go through the process of having to rent another van from another company. It was ridiculous.
