Positiv:: Das Ritz London ist ein wunderbares Hotel. Die Mitarbeiter sind das Herz des Hotels und tun alles, um dem Gast einen schönen Aufenthalt zu bereiten und ihn zu entlasten und zu unterstützen. Noch immer habe ich ein Lächeln im Gesicht, wenn ich daran denke wie herzlich sowohl der Empfang als auch die Verabschiedung waren. Das Frühstück lässt keine Wünsche offen, die Produkte sind vielfältig und sehr lecker. Zu einem reichhaltigen Buffet mit ausgewählten und sehr frischen Produkten kann man aus der Karte Gerichte bestellen, die in der Küche frisch zubereitet werden. Der Service ist überaus freundlich und professionell und hat es nach unseren Beobachtungen nicht immer nur mit einfachen und freundlichen Gästen zu tun. Die Zimmer sind eine Augenweide, darüber hinaus bequem und alle Funktionalitäten sind vorhanden. Die Betten sind sehr bequem und bieten vor allem Platz. Das ist in englischen Hotels ansonsten nicht immer der Fall. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden sehr gerne wieder ins Ritz reisen.

Positiv:: The room was well set out with an extra bed for a 3rd adult. The beds were all comfortable and the sound proofing was excellent so we all got a good nights sleep. Useful in room safe and tea/ coffee making facilities. The breakfast was excellent with a wide ranging fresh buffet and hot food cooked to order. The best thing however was the staff. They were all friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay extra special as my daughter celebrated her 21st birthday. They arranged a bottle of Prosseco and chocolate strawberries as well as a card and balloons! Fantastic and huge thanks go to Beth and Kostatin for all their care and attention. The restaurant was also excellent, a new experience for us to have Peruvian food and the staff were helpful with reccommendations.

Positiv:: Die Lage ist hervorragend, um die Region um Covent Garden und Leicester Square zu Fuß zu erkunden. Mit der Piccadilly Line fährt man direkt vom Flughafen Heathrow bis Covent Garden und erreicht das Hotel nach knapp 10 Minuten Fußweg. Auch die Anbindung an das Bussystem ist bestens. Wir bevorzugen es uns möglichst mit dem Bus durch London zu bewegen. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber, modern und für Londoner Verhältnisse groß. Das Monmouth Kitchen Restaurant bietet ein hervorragendes Frühstück, das keine Wünsche offen lässt. Man kann dort den ganzen Tag sehr gut essen. Das Personal ist überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend! Danke an Roberta für den freundlichen Empfang, an Melissa und ihr Restaurantteam, dass wir an unserem Wunschtisch frühstücken durften und an den Concierge Ed mit Luis und dem gesamten Team, die alle zusammen dafür gesorgt haben, dass wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt haben. Ich war bereits zum zweiten Mal in diesem schönen Hotel und komme bestimmt wieder.

They kept replenishing the breakfast area as well. We really enjoyed our stay and ended up staying in our room longer than we thought as we had a terrace and everything was so nice and comfortable. Really liked the bar area too.

We chose the breakfast included option, and felt like that was a good value. Breakfast was much more than just the standard Continental fare; there were hot items available as well. Lastly, all the staff was friendly and helpful!

The check in staff did not advise that reservations were necessary for the rooftop bar - our 3 guests arrived, my husband requested the lift they called up & said it was ok. When my husband & guests got to the rooftop, they were seated in the restaurant. I managed to get it sorted out & we were “squeezed” in - very embarrassing. Your staff needs to advise hotel guests that RESERVATIONS are required.

Negativ:: Value for money - this hotel was similarly priced to 5 star London hotels but it does not deliver a similar experience. Housekeeping consisted of having the bed made (no turn down service or tidying). Poor hairdryer and minibar (they’ve opted for an ‘all inclusive’ style minibar which consists of water and Coca Cola, no snacks at all - would rather a chargeable bar with wider selection if that is how the hotel intends to play it). Breakfast is weird - they have a buffet and a la carte style (all a la carte items are charged additionally - fine but not fine to charge for a cappuccino or any other type of coffee that is not filter).

Stock waren besser. Das Frühstück war nicht gut und das Geld nicht wert (z.B. ausschließlich Toastbrot als Brot, wabbeliges Ei, ...). Schlechter Service beim Frühstück (es war uns z.B. einfach nicht möglich, einen Earl Grey zu bestellen: erst kam ewig gar nichts, dann Kaffee, dann anderer Tee...).

It adds nothing in terms of style and is outdated) -No bar or restaurant although they provide places locally to get a bite to eat. -The hotel is split into two parts and the hallways are so dark you can get a bit lost.

Negativ:: Personal war sehr unaufmerksam und teilweise unfreundlich, für das Zimmer wurde zu viel von der Kreditkarte abgebucht und bis heute nich zurück erstattet. Das Zimmer wurde ohne Aufforderung nicht gemacht obwohl wir von Morgens 7 Uhr bis 16 Uhr unterwegs waren, somit wäre genug Zeit vorhanden gewesen. Beim Checkout wurde ohne zu Fragen 15% als Trinkgeld auf die Rechnung geschlagen und nur auf Aufforderung wurde dies wieder entfernt mit dem unfreundlichen Kommentar dies sei bei ihnen aber üblich. Alles in allem völlig überrissene Preise für den Service der geboten wird. Für ein 5 Sterne Hotel unangemessen da bekommt man besseres geboten für ein Standardzimmer für 790 GBP/Nacht ! Das Frühstück war in Ordnung aber man hatte noch nicht mal den letzten Bissen genommen da wurde einem schon der Teller weggezogen, sehr ungemütliche Atmosphäre und das für 26 GBP/Person. Wir hatten das Gefühl man wolle uns schnell wieder loswerden.

Mein Zimmer war ruhig und fensterlos, aber mir geht es gut mit kleinen Räumen; wenn Sie nicht allein reisen, fühlen Sie sich vielleicht beengt.

It’s budget in the extreme, which is fine, but when you pay more than £300 for a night because who knows what is going on in London and all the hotels are insane prices, £300 is a lot of money for budget. Will NOT be returning.

Negativ:: Odd plastic coating to the carpets in the corridor, at least on the 6th floor where I was! I arrived tired and hungry at 10pm and there was no food to be had at all in the hotel. Had to go to a burger place opposite! The shower head (not the rainfall one above; the hand-held attachment) was slightly broken at the base spraying water out at an odd angle.

Negativ:: No electric jug or milk to make a cup of tea in your room. Having flown 36 hours I was very frustrated to be denied a jug of hot water by reception and told to use the coffee machine which proved to be faulty. Upon my return to reception I was finally given a jug of hot water to take back to my room. Several of the lights were not working in the room. The hotel is tucked away from the main traffic noise but the floor boards are extremely squeaky so if your neighbours are up and about you will know about it. The shower leaked all over the bathroom floor, very poorly designed and as you are stepping out of a bath it can be very slippery, would not be suitable for less agile guests.

Negativ:: On the moment we checked in, I raised the ac is quite warm and the staff said the ac works just be patient. So I went out for and got back to the room at late night, AC didn't work. It was even worse. We cant breath in the hotel room. Hence, we asked the staff to change the room and the staff at reception said every rooms in this hotel was fully booked. I should have raise this up since the beginning (which I did). The staff said the AC doesn't work the whole floor. They've been trying to fix it but since it's late at that moment so they will fix it on the next day. However, for some reason they managed to get us moved to the new room. But they actually downgraded our room, the room is smaller, Restroom is half size when compared to the room we got at the beginning. They insisted it's not downgrade and they charged us the same amount of money.

Negativ:: - gelbe Urin Flecken auf dem Matratzenschoner - beim einchecken hat man mich nicht gefunden - die Milch auf dem Zimmer war abgelaufen und wurde nach Beschwerde gewechselt - zuzweit im Bett ist sehr unbequem weil die Matratze durchgelegen ist. Man deckt sich mit einem Laken zu und darüber die Tagesdecke die bestimmt nicht immer nach einem Besuch gewechselt wird - der Teppich war fleckig - der Stuhl war fleckig und klebrig - die Abzugsanlage im Bad funktionierte nicht

We expected it to be quite loud but found the hotel to be extremely quiet and comfortable during our stay there. I was charged for 2 phone calls- again I don’t think you should be charged for using the phone- it should be free as a facility!

Die U-Bahn hält direkt nach Heathrow, ein paar Blocks entfernt, sodass die Ankunft und Abfahrt so einfach ist.
Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Zimmer war modern, ruhig und sauber.

Negativ:: Obwohl ich wusste, dass ich das kleinste Zimmer gebucht hatte und insgesamt zufrieden war, war die Fähigkeit, ein Fenster für frische Luft zu öffnen, etwas frustrierend. Probleme mit der Klimaanlage wurden umgehend behoben, obwohl ein geöffnetes Fenster eine bessere Lösung wäre. Nur weil ich 5 Nächte hier war, störte mich das. Beim nächsten Besuch werde ich ein größeres Zimmer mit offenem Fenster buchen. :-)

Negativ:: Die Zimmer sind eine Katastrophe, so muss es im gefängnis sein. Die duschen sind schimmlig und auf den fluren riecht es eklig. Das gebuchte u bezahlte Frühstück war ungenießbar! Ärgerlich. Entschädigt hat uns einzigst das super Wetter, damit wir immer draußen sein konnten u nicht ins Hostel mussten.

Negativ:: Leider muss ich sagen, dass ich die Unterkunft nicht besonders sauber fand. Ergänzend muss ich sagen, dass ich sehr viel wert auf Hygiene lege und möglicherweise der ein oder andere das etwas lockerer sieht. Jedoch waren schon öfters Schimmel und Rost an den sanitären Anlagen zu finden sowie verschmutzte Toiletten. Die Bettwäsche war sauber, die Betten jedoch sehr durchgelegen. Es war nachts oft laut. Alles in allem empfand ich das Hostel als bereits in die Jahre gekommen und etwas teuer für die erhaltene Leistung.

The hotel just doesn't feel luxurious at all.

Positiv:: I have stayed in Mimis many times. I like the location very much, close to nice restaurants which are still open when I finish work.
Negativ:: The size of the rooms is fine. I find them cosy and generally sleep very well, which is one of the reasons I choose to stay there. In fact this room was a little large than normal. However on this occasion there were several issues which caused me a big problem - I essentially got no sleep at all: (i) the thermostat seemed broken causing fluctuations in temperature; (ii) the walls were very thin and I could hear the neighbour performing all of his/her bathroom functions, including regular vomiting; (iii) the light switches were broken and there was no way to turn off all the lights. The lights were on all night.

Insgesamt ist die Einrichtung gediegen, aber braun-/ auberginefarbene Vertäfelungen sind nicht mein Geschmack. In dem Zimmer gibt es keinen Kleiderschrank ö.ä. und keine Gelegenheit, einen kleinen Koffer irgendwo abzustellen.

Negativ:: I just wasn't prepared for the tiny room. There was nowhere to sit other than on the bed. No kettle to make a tea in the room and no fridge to keep anything cool. This was my own fault as I hadn't read any of the reviews so not fair to blame the hotel. But just not for me.

Negativ:: 3rd stay here and can't believe how it has deteriorated. Majority of staff came across very unhappy and unfriendly. Service at breakfast was non existent, no offer of coffee , had to ask for food to be restocked at the hot buffet. Dining area was dirty especially on tables and chairs . Paid for a bigger room which was lovely but were not told bathroom was set up for disabled use ,which is great to see but takes the edge of a bit of luxury when spending that bit more. Burnt my head as shower kept fluctuating in temperature to the extreme,which is very concerning if it is being used by anyone with a disability. Couldn't get signal on the TV.

Negativ:: When I arrived at 10 am I asked for early check-in as I had requested by mail and phone already, invoking business meetings at noon for which I had to shower and dress and the fact that I was going to leave at 6 am the next day and would thus occupy the room less than 24h. The answer was a stereotype "we have no availability now, have to put you on waiting list, cannot guarantee you will get a room before 14h". Only when I insisted, mentioning that someone had just checked out in front of me and that it would certainly not take more than an hour to make up that room and that otherwise I would have to look further and cancel my reservation did the staff take the "trouble" of calling housekeeping. And - surprise - there were actually two nice rooms free and ready on the top floor ! Afterwards the staff became very friendly and accomodating though, allowing me to have my breakfast (which was included) on the day of arrival rather than of the departure which would have been too early. I cannot say whether the initial formality and lack of flexibility and disposition is company policy or was due to the attitude of the two people at the reception.

Negativ:: The mattress was AWFUL!!! We had a late checkout for 2pm but left before 12.00 as the bed wasn't comfy. Very surprised at this!! I won't stay at this Holiday Inn again, even though the price point was okay. A good night's sleep is so important and this is the first time, in a very long time, I haven't felt rested after staying at a hotel.

Positiv:: This hotel's location is the best thing about it: right in the middle of things. The bed was fantastically comfy.
Negativ:: The bathroom was poorly designed (water went everywhere), the keycard expired, and everything was fairly drab in the room. The people at the front desk were not that friendly, but fine.

Negativ:: Lack of information about what is available in hotel - there's a spa brochure in the room (which wasn't relevant for me) but no info about the restaurants, what time breakfast is served and where etc etc). Got to our room and the minibar was empty so had to phone room service for a bottle of water. Extremely grumpy concierge came up with it, complaining that it wasn't his job but there was no-one else around. While he was there we asked him if he could look at the TV which didn't work. At first he said that in the room refurb they must have forgotten to connect the television. After ages, he found something behind the TV which enabled him to turn it on. I have honestly not ever met such a grumpy person working in a hotel! In addition to all this, the room (particularly the bathroom) wasn't very clean. And the shower was just a trickle. Not good enough for £279 per night...

Positiv:: Die Lage des Hotels ist perfekt, wenn man in London Soho wohnen möchte! Das Palladium ist gleich ums Eck, die U-Bahn drei Minuten entfernt, rundherum Lokale, Pubs, Geschäfte. Der Picadilly Circus ist zu Fuß erreichbar, simply great!
Negativ:: Die so toll beschriebene Top "Roof Bar" war für Kinder (mein Sohn ist 13 Jahre) nicht zugänglich. Zudem wird laut Personal ein Mindestumsatz von 50 Pfund pro Person erwartet! Der Wellnessbereich fällt eher bescheiden aus!

Negativ:: Hmmm.... 1st room - smelled of paint, had no furniture and planks of wood on the floor. 2nd room - had more body fluid on the sofa than material, stunk of smoke, and genuinely looked like a shag den. 3rd room - was shabby, had light fittings missing, electrics hanging off the wall. Looked like the bailiffs had been in and removed stuff ! 4th room - perfect.... now why was it so difficult to have not got it right in the first place. Staff didnt really care. Had no interest in getting it right, had to repeat ourselves constantly as new staff came on. No offer of compensation or a sorry !! Very disappointed and we were a returning customer

Negativ:: Frühstücksqualität schlecht. Personal im Restaurant unaufmerksam und gelangweilt. Im Zimmer keine Nachttischlampen. Lose Kabel, die aus der Wand schauen. Ab morgens 0700 Uhr Lärm (inkl hämmern). 5 Sterne? Dass ich nicht lache

Negativ:: The bed was like sleeping on a hard board. So uncomfortable I only got a few hours sleep.
