Es war wunderbar, fast wie Kino, wir hatten eine Sitzecke auf einer Empore, haben die Sessel in Richtung Park gedreht und haben uns das Treiben angeschaut. Das Frühstück am Wochenende war mit einer zusätzlichen Frischetheke versehen, wo man Eierspeisen wie z. B. Omelette, Spiegeleier, Egg Benedict und Waffeln bekam, aber auch typisch für England Speck und baced beans. Alles sehr lecker !!

Negativ:: The rooms are not very sound proof we had extremely loud neighbors several nights. More of business hotel. There were not many things to help tourists book restaurants or get around. The staff didn't have guidance on hop on hop off buses or tours. We figured it out on our own but I think in other hotels there is more help for that type of thing.

Negativ:: Like most London hotels the rooms are small but for £200+ a night I expected a little more and a better bathroom, which is showing its age and wasn't very good in the first place (average fittings and pour grouting). Being able to hear the music from the bar below did not improve the score and not in keeping with the nature and style of the hotel. The location is great for the Albert Hall and the park but a walk to a tube station for anywhere else.

Negativ:: Staff were a little chilly on reception. The bar added a service charge of £5 on to our bar bill, which we thought really cheeky. Also, room service adds £5, so an early morning coffee is extremely expensive if you wish to have one, which you may as the revolting tubes of instant coffee in our room had obviously been there for some time and had solidified. Luckily there is a cafe around the corner on the way to the Tube.

Frühstückspersonal bemüht, wenn konkret mit Bitten oder Bestellungen angesprochen, aber ohne selbst aktiv zu werden, hätten wir wohl auch nach 1 Stunde kein Frühstück gehabt. War aber wohl auch besonders voll. Service dort definitiv nicht 4 Sterne.

Negativ:: The bathroom basin clogged a bit, it took quite a while to drain the water every time after I washed my hands. As a person who pay attention to details I also noted the pencil provided in my room had a broken lead. I had no intention to use the pencil at all but I reckon such issue maybe regarded as a cons for some others.

However, generally it is convenient and I like the location as this is next to the Hyde Park - a 20 minute walk and you can go to Marble Arch or the legendary Harrods. The room is not small and the bathroom is clean.
Negativ:: I think the only drawback is that the location is not easy to find without google map - The lift is not very big and bigger luggage will be problematic.

But still a lovely breakfast just didn’t feel very welcome

Das Hotel selbst ist nur ein paar Gehminuten von der U-Bahn Queensway entfernt. Wenn man etwas länger geht, ist man bei der U-Bahn- und Zugstation Paddington. Dort in der Nähe sind richtig viele Restaurants und Pubs. Der Inder "The Mughal's" und der Italiener "Villa Rosa" sind sehr empfehlenswert. Die Restaurants in dieser Umgebung sind auch etwas günstiger als in der Innenstadt.

Für weitere 5,50 Pfund hat man die Möglichkeit ein erweitertes englisches Frühstück dazuzubuchen. Das warme Frühstück wollten wir aber nicht. Dennoch wäre eine Abwechslung fein gewesen. Eine ganze Woche immer das gleiche Frühstück ist fad.

Positiv:: Nice, boutique hotel on a quiet street close to the Hyde park and 10 min walk from the Paddington station. We were upgraded to a jr. suite at no charge and it was a very pleasant bonus. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was welcoming a friendly.
Negativ:: They have 2 breakfast options: continental or hot English. We had a continental included in the price. There is a special person that instructs each guest on which breakfast they are entitled to have and that the hot breakfast is extra. Not very classy... I have a feeling they spend more money doing that and creating a negative vibe, as opposed to letting everyone have some scrambled eggs (how much can they cost?) and a good impression of the hotel.

Nice coffee pod machine in lobby for guests was appreciated. Staff were kind and helpful- yes, if staying in London, I would book again. Easy access to Paddington station- it's a moderate 10-15min walk, but lovely to see the beautiful potted flowers and gorgeous bulidings on our stroll. Metro(underground) and busses also easliy accessable. I found it really expensive for single trips on the Metro, so invest in a Oyster card if staying for more than one day.

Obwohl wir um "nicht zu kleine Zimmer" gebeten hatten, haben wir das kleinste im 4. Stock erhalten. Leider waren damit die Aufenthalte im Zimmer eher eine Qual.

Negativ:: Room had too many beds in for the size. 3 tier beds meant no head room in middle bunk. I had been given a bottom bunk because I have a bad back but someone had taken it. As bottom bunks were on the floor O would have struggled with them as well, to stand up when I got out. People having sex in bunks next to me and person under me had the sour smell of someone who had not washed in a long time. I suspect the person was homeless and using the hostel for somewhere to live. Breakfast was ok. I stay in hostels a lot and have stayed in the Safestay in York which was much better and not so crammed together, cleaner too. The laminate on stairs to reception was lifting on each step which is a trip hazard.

Negativ:: Das Essen war leider ungenießbar ich würde es nicht weiterempfehlen. Keine Klimaanlage vorhanden sondern ein einzigen Ventilator für ein Zimmer mit 15 Betten. Es gab nur Heißwasser in der Dusche, fand ich nicht genial wenn draußen 27 Grad waren und das Zimmer stickig und warm war.

Negativ:: Showers are combined — male and female together (quite uncomfortable for both). There are lockers in rooms but you need to have your own padlock and a key (otherwise buy at the reception). No towel provided (again, can rent there). At the reception you get a card to access the hostel and your room, and you get a paper that they expect you to carry with you everywhere (so that they can identify you, if necessary). No one ever asked for that paper, but the idea itself is annoying. There is no microwave or a fridge to cook your own breakfast or store some food

Negativ:: Dreckiges Zimmer. Könnte sowohl innen als auch außen mal gestrichen werden. W-Lan sehr langsam. Das Personal wirkt müde uns lustlos. Drink an der Bar war in einem schmutzigen Glas. Ich werde nicht wieder hier übernachten.

Negativ:: Zimmer mit Doppelbett war sehr klein. Nicht viel Platz zum Umherlaufen. In Ordnung, wenn man nur zum schlafen im Zimmer ist. Kostenloses WLAN ist langsam, man muss sich jedes Mal wieder einloggen, wenn man zum Hotel zurückkehrt.

Negativ:: Checked in and was met with a queue and also no welcome just a response of do you have ID for the room. We only booked the standard rooms, four of them and they were pretty basic and cramped for a hotel hitting £150plus a night. Wouldn’t stay again. I’d probably use some of the other smaller hotels and save some money. Expectations were higher than what was realised with this hotel. Also got woken up at 7.30 with a maintenance person knocking on next door for what seemed like minutes with no discretion.

It was very claustrophobic. There is a very contrast between the Hall of the hotel that seems very luxuous and the room. Unbelievable in actual times. Just went to the room to sleep every day, we stayed in the Hall the rest of time stayed in hotel. It was not possible to change room; listened other clients also contested some rooms, not know what or what exactly. Our room was 308. We felt discomfortable and thought even to pay and go to another hotel. The other rooms we don’t know how they lol like. Very bad price quality relation.

Negativ:: Wir hatten ein Zimmer unmittelbar unter dem Dach im 7. OG. Dort war es sehr warm, die Klimaanlage funktionierte nicht ausreichen. Das Zimmer war sehr eng, man konnte nicht um das Bett herumgehen. Das Bad ebenfalls winzig. Die Teppichböden im Zimmer und auf den Fluren ziemlich abgenutzt.

Positiv:: Normales, großes Haus einer Hotelkette, so wie viele andere, gute Häuser auch. Die Lage gleich neben der U-Bahn Station Kensington High Street ist sehr gut. Auch zu den Sightseeing-Bussen musste man nur einen kurzen Weg zu den Kensington Gardens, Kensington Palace Gate gehen.
Negativ:: Das Besteck und die Teller beim Frühstück waren nicht richtig sauber. Vom "sauberen" Teller bekam ich z.B. fettige Finger. Die Kompetenz in Bezug auf glutenfreies Essen war mangelhaft. Dies führte dazu, dass das glutenfreie Frühstück nur aus Bacon, Tomatoes, Baked Beans und Hash Browns bestand (Ei wäre vermutlich auch dabei gewesen, ist nur nichts für mich). Das ansonsten gute, normale Frühstücks-Buffet wurde einfach als nicht glutenfrei deklariert und der Gast sollte verzichten auf Obst, Butter, Joghurt usw.. Sorry, aber so dürfte das nicht als glutenfreies Frühstück beworben werden.

Negativ:: Keine Klimaanlage. Das Zimmer war im 3. Stock und die Hitze fast kochend heiß. Überraschend, wenn man bedenkt außerhalb der Temperaturen draußen nicht so hoch waren. Es gab einen Ventilator, wodurch es noch erträglich war. Man konnte auch nicht alle Fenster öffnen, wodurch es sehr schwierig war, frische Luft reinzulassen. Ich würde wieder dort übernachten, aber nur dann, wenn es kälter ist.

Negativ:: The mattress was very ‘spring-y’ it wasn’t the greatest nights sleep, woke up with sore backs and hips. We were also in the basement although we did pay for a windowless room i’m not sure what we expected but it was still a lovely room. the constant noise you could hear also wasn’t the best throughout the night!

Negativ:: The rooms were like death apartment in china crammed tiny with 4 people shoved in a closet the beds were kid size and im only 5'8, an to talk about the heat and mug build up in the rooms if you stay never turn off the fan. we left days early just to get away from the place, the bathrooms stink of mold in the floor and around the sinks , the shower room is almost as big as the room just with lament flooring as the bathroom floor not properly vented and stinks of mold, we were informed to put our bags in out beds with the cuts shut so they can come in and vacuum the floor and our stuff would be say (oyes to use the storage drawer under the bed its cost 4 extra to use it) when we came back the room stunk of my friends perfume she had just bought the other day and out bags look like they had be moved or tossed around my hard carrier on was push on top of my bookback which i lef the book bag on top bc of my laptop that was inside. after the 2nd night of staying there me and my friend agreed this place in my 11 years of seeing the world was the worst place i have ever stayed there is like 1 bathroom on each floor to be shared with 20 people it seems, i would have to hold it in to use the bathroom at 4 knowing everyone was asleep because it not you will have 2-5 people try to open the door while your in the middle of your business, there is no outside sign or even a slide panel to state that someone is in there on topping it off its a no refund if you leave early or don't stay which i was willing to leave early after the first few nights of staying there i wouldent want the money back anyway it would probley end up smelling like the bathrooms like mold, it didnt help ether i'm sure at most of the bathrooms are straight piped because you can smell straight sewer when it rains, for a place in Hyde Park as well keeped and clean area this place as well below that stander-ed.

Negativ:: We booked a 4 bed mixed dorm, which meant we were on the fourth floor, with no lift which means you will need to carry your bags and travel up and down to the very top of the building in order to get to your room. With this room we had a private bathroom, however this meant practically showering on the toilet, the shower curtain did NOTHING and meant the whole bathroom got flooded whenever anyone had a shower, including a wet toilet. During our stay a bunch of teenagers who sit on the next door neighbours steps and who smoke weed and play their music all night long whilst approaching people staying at the hostel asking if they want to buy drugs. We had spoken to someone who had stayed at the hostel months before and he said that they were also there on his previous stay, so something that always happens. The hostel staff don’t seem to do anything about them and they are allowed to come in and out of the common foyer as they please. There are lockers under the beds however they will charge you per day to be able to use it.

Als ich mir einen locker für meine Wertsachen geholt habe, war der voller Müll, Essensreste und stickiger Klamotten (obwohl der Eigentümer ja schon lange ausgecheckt hat). Personal war geht so außer ein Herr, der mir wirklich weiter geholfen hat, als es Probleme mit dem locker gab.

Usually, when I arrived at a hostel, the bed is already ready, there is a pillow and mattress, everything..but this hostel is not ready at all. They will just give you the mattress and pillow cover, you will do it yourself. Its not a big deal for me but I am just comparing it to other hostels where I stayed. and you will have to look for an empty bed yourself. Almost zero on Customer Service. I knew from the pictures that its triple decker bed but I was shocked because of the space, Its like they tell you to just lie down most of the time. and what shocked me the most is that they have lots of staff cleaning the hostel but they don't include the rooms. They don't vacuum or have air spray to get rid of the smell from the shoes of other guests. Most of the reception also don't know customer service. They just sat there. The reception's job is just to sit, check their computer, give keys, give mattress. I hope they learn from Korean Guesthouses on how they do Guesthouse business. Being a low budget dormitory is not an excuse to not being able to give good customer service.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful we arrived at the hotel early in the morning check in was at 2 pm we asked if we could leave our suitcases and check in later also when we checked out we again asked if we could leave our cases and pick up early evening this was agreed so we spent all day seeing London without the burden of suitcases and as we were going on the London Eye this was a great help as your bags are searched. The breakfast was help yourself buffet style which included the full English, croissant, fruit juice,coffee etc all hot nice way to start your day sightseeing.

The lavatory didn't have the pop-up drain lid, not only easy to loose whatever could fall in the sink, but showing gross dirty pipe every time we have to use it. The corridors carpet and walls were dirty. The receptionist Victoria, had a very bad attitude, not helpful at all, like if the customer was not important whatsoever, even when a different employee wanted to help changing the room, she denied it (may be she is the owner?). We stayed for 2 nights just because we paid in advance, when we came back at the end of first day they did not made the bed !!!! I guess it is not easy to fix it when there is just one side to access it. I recommend anyone to stay away of this hotel.

Positiv:: Room was dirty, blood on sheets, no hair dryer like advertised and when asked, given a small one covered in sellotape to hold it together. Hotel was under construction but you only new that when you turn up. Very dirty, and we paid for breakfast, it was in a basement with no windows and two baskets, one with bread and croissant, butter. Cheap cornflakes and coffee erne that was nasty.

Negativ:: Unclean, old, getting done up so unclean and equipment everywhere. Man on reception laughed when I said my name. Front door was all smashed, which was a heath and safety hazard. Would not stay here again!!

Positiv:: Das es SEHR frisch renoviert war (aktuell liefen die Renovierungen noch)
Negativ:: Das Personal, Das Frühstück nur Brötchen mit Marmelade und Kellogs, die unfertigen Zimmer, Wifi, das man Geld dafür bezahlen muss damit die Koffer da bleiben können, der Manager der immer sehr sagen wir ungepflegt rum lief und nur gemeckert hat und glaube ich das ganze nur zum Spaß macht Das war nur der Anfang

Negativ:: Das Personal war sehr desinteressiert, die Matraze durchgelegen und Uralt, bei Ankunft war kein Zimmer frei, die Hygiene war selbst für London unterdurchschnittlich

Negativ:: Not at all as described - no TV, duvet, 2 single beds at opposite ends of the room when I booked a double, no number on my door, wires exposed in room, mirror not hung yet, construction work going on when I stayed which was not at all made clear.

Negativ:: Not clean, bed bugs all over the room, didn't sleep all night, kept scratching from bug bites.

Positiv:: Presently having a lot of building work but very quiet at at night, stated on 5th floor and rooms were all modernised and very clean, smart decor and fresh. Would stay again good value for money and location excellent.
Negativ:: Shower very slow - trickled out - new bathroom etc so probably needs a pump installing

Negativ:: Had a room on 1st floor and it was woeful - threadbare carpets up the stairs - dirty and grime in the room - very cheap needs a good overall - left s day early !! Stayed in a room on 5th floor two weeks ago and that was lovely and had been revamped

Negativ:: An den ersten beiden Tagen hatten wir kein Strom Außerdem war das Waschbecken bis zum 3 Tag verstopft. Und in der 4.Nacht ging der Feueralarm 2mal los
